  • Great Maui Location

"This was our second trip to Maui and Maui Sands is a great location. (However, it's ironic that there is no 'sand' on the beach.) Perhaps in another month it would be different - but January was a great time to go to see the whales off in the distance. Best to have a car to travel the island, but if you don't ~ this is a good spot to be. Close to stores, beaches, and farmers market. So much to see and do around the island, but if you are looking for the classic resort scene with picturesque pool, this is not for you. This property is closer to true island living and is VERY comfortable. We took a one year old and being on the second floor was great (no elevator) - able to let him run free with lanai patio door open with no worries. The condo was equipped with snorkel gear, beach toys, laundry soap, cleaning supplies, condiments in the fridge, full kitchen, even toiletries that might have been forgotten at home. It has an older feel, but that is all revealed in the photos. We had a great time and felt very comfortable here. I would just like to mention that the ocean view noted (pictured) on the website has a very deceiving 'ocean view' of the true location of this unit. The picture seen on the website is completely zoomed in and cropped. We were thinking this unit would be right on the ocean, but is actually set back a bit in the complex. Other than that - it was a wonderful time and I would certainly go back! Thanks!"

  • Maui Paradise

"Ideally situated, quiet and peaceful with a fantastic ocean view pretty much sums up the unit. Although we prefer a single family home as opposed to a condo unit, this unit on the 2nd floor was just the right amount of space and easily accessible. The unit had everything we needed and the grounds are absolutely beautiful and well kept. Overall we had a great time and we would recommend this unit."

  • Perfect Location!

"We stayed in this unit for 10 days. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need to make your stay complete. This was our first time in Maui and did not know much about the location. This condo is right across the street from the Farmer's Market and right next to a park. It is within five minutes driving distance to one of the most popular beaches. We were able to snorkel right outside of the condo, although it was high surf and did not let our kids snorkel there. We saw turtles and whales from the condo every day. The pictures do not do the condo justice. Once you open up the door you realize you have picked the right place to stay. The views every morning and every evening cannot be described without actually being there. After driving the entire island, my husband is not one to sit still, I believe we picked the best location on the island. The area is not too busy but has everything you need within walking distance. You cannot go wrong by staying here!"

  • Wow.....

"What a place! Unconstructed perfect views. Big, bright, clean, excellent layout, very large balcony with a ton of space where you are literally 10 yards to the sand and maybe 20 to the water. You can hear the gentle waves at night. This is and end unit which and it's definitely preferable to the 1st floor. Also being on the 2nd floor you get super high ceilings that just opens up the place. "Baby beach" is the backyard. It's 2-4 feet deep and goes out maybe 125 yards. It's great for beginning snorkels. We rented our snorkel gear from Bob's Snorkel just around the corner. Pretty cheap to rent it by the week. ****** Important**** I must say the service and communication from Larry (owner) and Nestor (manager) has been excellent. Without a doubt, renting a place like this is 1000x better than staying at a hotel. Not even close. Can't wait to come back!!!!!"

Other Kaanapali Properties Travel Tips

Kaanapali vacation rentals: Luxury? You won't want to Leave the Room!

Forget trying to understand this place with written words. View it. West Maui vacation rentals. Bring lots of sunscreen. You're going to need it. Kaanapali condos has one of the most beautiful pools on West Maui, but don't forget about the four mile stretch of Kaanapali Beach outside your door! Rent a snorkel and fins from Snorkel Bob's. After your day under and on the water, go back to the amazing Kaanapali condos and relax.

Kaanapali vacation rentals equals Kaanapali Golf Resort

This is pair of courses. Royal Kaanapali is a 71 par course that stretches almost 6,700 yards and is covered with wide bunkers, long tees, and the best contoured greens in Maui. Kaanapali Kai is shorter, hillier, and adds a degree of difficulty on the narrow fairways. It's the challenge course of the two. The best tee times are available on weekends and a driving range and putting course area also available. Afterwards you can enjoy a relaxing meal at the clubhouse.

Wrap it up Indoors?

Of course you'll go back to Kaanapali condos and relax again, but not for too long. If you have teens who get bored easily or you just want to get out of the sun for awhile, Kaanapali has Whalers Village, a 48 shop mall and a great whale museum. Take a shuttle south to Lahaini to explore again and find another fine meal there as well. The shuttle is recommended because parking in Lahaini can be tough. When your day is done, find Kaanapali again and slide exhausted back into the luxury that began the day. Take a late afternoon nap, then cook your own meal with the groceries you got while you were out and spend some time in Kaanapali condos. It's part of the package.
