  • Paradise

"Visited Maui for the 10th time to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It was perfect for our celebration! This condo was updated and had outstanding views of Kaanapali Beach, the pool, the garden and the ocean. It was a short walking distance to some of our favorite restaurants and to shopping at Whalers Village. The owner was wonderful to work with and we look forward to staying with her again in the future."

  • Excellent, modern ground-floor condo facing Black Rock

"What a wonderful condo! I was hesitant at first to reserve a ground level condo, as I was concerned about the noise of people walking back and forth. But we now would not have it any other way! This condo faces the Black Rock outcropping on the outer side of the complex (you can see people jumping off the cliff…from your couch). We could walk straight out our back patio doors onto the long private lawn and straight out to the beach, the new BBQ area, everything. I underestimated how much of a convenience that would be. No sharing elevators! We always felt secure and undisturbed. The condo itself is fully updated with granite countertops throughout, tiled floor (no carpet), modern kitchen and bathrooms, top of the line appliances and cabinetry, very functional kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The furnishings and the décor is spot on for a beachside resort. There’s tons of functional storage in every room including the bathrooms. This condo is just three or so doors down from the new BBQ area, which was finished mid-way through our stay. Three huge gas grills, large tiled sitting area. The only thing they need to work on is the lighting. There are only two huge flood lights on the palm trees pointed down on the patio that are bright enough to warn passing ships! Need ambient lighting instead. Other than that, this is a great new addition. Hard to find anything wrong with the condo honestly, but if there is anything that could be improved on, it was this—The bedroom dresser smells; I’m certain it’s the type of wood that gives it a bad odor. I tried keeping our clothes in it but eventually had to move everything to the closet or bathroom storage. Just couldn’t hack the smell. Just keep the drawers closed and it’s fine. No big deal since there was plenty of storage anyway. We were never inconvenienced by it. Secondly the maid service supplies very little soap. There was one very small bar in the master bathroom, similar to what you would get in a hotel, which only lasted a day. I bought a couple of bars at the grocery. Again, no big deal. Contact me with any questions you may have."

  • Perfect vacation spot!

"We spent 10 days at this condo. The location on the beach was perfect and the view was amazing. We watched the whales from the Lanai almost every morning. The amenities left us for wanting nothing more. Kitchen is fully stocked, ice packs for the cooler provided(we actually left an additional one for use) and the water toys were a plus. We used the boogie boards and snorkeling equipment(black rock is good for snorkeling and can be seen from the condo). The murphy bed was as comfortable as any other bed and easy to pull down and put back up every day. There is a shopping center next door that offers a great coffee place and an ABC store for essentials. I would definitely stay here again if we ever return."

  • Picture Perfect

"We have been traveling to Maui every other year since 2006. This is our 4th rental at the Whaler. This condo is the best yet. The owner was amazing to work with. The management company that he uses is also very pleasant. The condo view CANNOT be beat-it is a corner unit! We are a 50ish couple spending 2 weeks in Maui and this was our rental for the first week. Our second week was at the Westin Villas North. We preferred this Whaler condo for several reasons. First, 2 baths work very well for us-easier and quicker to get ready every day (I like a bath at night so bathtub a plus); second, close to Whaler village- we really enjoyed the music from the restaurant next door of the evenings and easy walk to shop; third, close to the golf course-we are golfers and golfed every day at either Kaanapali or Kapalua ; fourth-did I mention the view?--wonderful for champagne breakfast every day; fifth-not far from the grocery store; sixth-the beach is right below you-no maze to get direct from your condo to the beach-just get out there early and rent your cabanna for the day and sand is the best at the Whaler; seventh-well stocked kitchen - all the necessary small appliances, dishes and utensils and nice wine glasses; eighth-comfortable king size bed; ninth-everything worked; and finally tenth - check in/check out was pleasant and refund of security deposit from management company was timely. I am extremely detail oriented and this condo met my expectations. Sunsets are beautiful from the lanai. The 7th floor is high enough that people walking below in front of the Whaler do not bother you. There is not a washer/dryer in this unit and that would be the only thing I would add to it. I would definitely rent this until again if available. The photos listed are accurate and the property was clean and well maintained. Hula Grill is our favorite restaurant but also like Lelani's on the Beach and Maui Fish and Pasta all in Whaler Village; also this year ate at the Sea House at Napili and attended Slack Key Concert and recommend both-not for kids though. Thanks again for sharing your condo with us!"
