"I've been to Maui a handful of times. My husband and rented this property for a week, and it was amazing! I will, and already have, recommended this place to a number of people. Here's the break down:
~ Price was comparable to other places
~ tempurpedic type king size bed (we both slept so well every night!)
~ Ocean front; this isn't just beach view, it is walk-out-and-you're-there ocean front
~ Listen to the waves crashing all day and all night
~ A/C (if you need it, we used fans the entire time we were there and never turned the AC on)
~ Tastefully renovated
~ Wonderful owners that are simply nice people to work with
Cons: (this is limited and subjective, as it did not bother us)
~ The bedroom is in back of the unit, and there is an elevator near by; if you're a light sleeper, this may bother you. It really didn't bother us in any way
~ 1st floor - so you do want to lock up at night (but they have shutters on the sides, so you can let in the breeze and listen to the waves all night long).. Being on the first floor is both a blessing and a curse; you're a little more exposed, but you have the luxury of walking out onto the patio and being at the ocean.
This place had snorkeling gear, beach towels, books, internet, TV (never even turned it on!), AC, boogie boards, fishing gear.. etc... This place is ready for you to come in and enjoy everything the island has to offer. It's also walking distance to a grocery store so you can stock up for your stay. We strongly recommend this location; it's wonderful.
OH, and the resort has an Expedia concierge, so you can book a bunch of excursions if you want. If you want to go to the Old Lahaina Luau... which really is th best in my opinion, strongly recommend you book that prior to getting there, it was booked up for 4 weeks when we got there."
