  • Loved it!

"We had such a great time at Honua Kai! We had five adults and one child and it was truly fun for everyone: breakfast on the lanai every morning, swimming for hours in the pools, meals at Duke's, the spa! It was all wonderful. This was the first vacation that we've spent more time relaxing at the property than exploring the island. It's that good!"

  • Perfect Hawaiian retreat

"I travel at least once a year to Hawaii to recharge from a very busy life and high octane job. The Whaler and Unit 762 provides the perfect retreat. The condo is perfectly positioned for restaurants and shops, views and tradewinds from the lanai, the beachside walking path, and access to beach and sailing activities, lacking absolutely nothing in amenities and ensuring that one's vacation is "easy" and stress free. Another bonus is the accommodating and gracious owner who is immediately responsive to all inquiries and requests. Innumerable activities are available (great concierge service, too!) but the two that were the highlight of this trip was an excursion to Molakai (countless whales sited the entire day) and a concert at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului. So, do yourself a favor and visit Maui and Whaler's Unit 762 and enjoy all that the Islands and this condo have to offer."

  • Excellent Unit

"This was our third visit to the Mahana property. Our unit had outstanding amenities that were provided free of charge. We did a lot of cooking and having the necessary spices, foil, saran wrap and baggies saved us from having to buy them just for a 9 day stay. We also really enjoyed the "pay it forward" bottle of wine that we opened as soon as we walked into the condo after a looonnnggg trip from Florida. That was very much appreciated. It was special to be able to eat all our meals on the lanai. Such a gorgeous view is why I love to stay at this property. The furnishings were superb and I appreciate the effort made by the owners to make their unit one of the best available in the one bedroom Mahana category. I would certainly recommend this unit and give it 5 stars! We enjoyed a few dinners at Dukes, but would also highly recommend the Fish Market just down the street from the Times grocery. You can buy gourmet "carry-out" dinners prepared by a former chef at Mama's Fish house. The quality of the food is excellent and you can't beat eating out on the lanai with a nice bottle of wine and candles. Truly a special experience."

  • Loved Maui

"We had a really great time & the scenery was more Beautiful than we ever thought. With that being said there were a few things that we would consider to bring "down" the experience. For starters our rental unit had a partial view of the ocean and of the construction, they weren't there early but kicked up a lot of dust. Also there was a sewer smell that would waft around ( in our suite & down by the pool), and lastly the pool was warm & the water slide was lots of fun but we found the pools to be in need of work & they were dirty/grimy etc. overall had a wonderful vacation but would maybe try a different resort- maybe with more kids things to do."
