"We had a delightful time in Maui, in large part because of our superb lodging. The description of the location was spot on, with a gorgeous ocean view. Snorkeling right out front was fantastic for kids and parents alike, with snorkeling at Black Rock a 15-minute walk down the beach (for the most part, snorkeling at the resort was just as good). Lahaina was just a few minutes by car, and Duke's restaurant was a great option a short walk away. The owner was wonderful and gave us great tips about the property and local activities and sightseeing ideas. Would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for an upscale Maui resort experience on the beach, either as a couple or with a family."Guest: Ocean lover Date of Stay: July 2013 Review Submitted: September 6, 2013View listing
"Our very positive review is based on the location and on the condo unit itself. Condo: All units directly face the ocean. The 12-unit complex has a very friendly and helpful full-time residents. This gave the complex the secure feeling of a “managed’ facility rather than just an isolated rental unit. The overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The condo itself was exceptionally clean and very well-stocked with high-quality items (ex. cookware) and appliances. The lanai was used often and gave views of both nearby islands (Lanai and Molokai). The sun setting just on the edge of Molokai was beautiful. The unit was not air-conditioned (not unusual) but opening the windows at night kept the condo cool. The main bedroom is at the back and the open windows did result in some noise from the road. This was countered by the sound of the surf and the flow of fresh, rather than re-circulated, air. Location: Excellent - located just north of the large resorts. Local businesses are all within a 5 minute walking distance and are used by locals and tourists alike. We used the farmer’s market, grocery store, and coffee shop on a daily basis. The complex has a private beach protected from the breeze and the water was usually calmer than at other beaches. The beach was very quiet and most often we had it to ourselves. The beach was very well-suited for swimming, snorkeling, and turtle-watching. In fact, every afternoon at low tide turtles could be easily seen from the balcony or beach. There is a large selection of restaurants and shops in Lahaina which is only about a 10 minute drive away. In truth, we ate the large majority of our meals at the condo. Having the grocery store and market nearby plus the well-equipped kitchen made it simple to prepare our own meals. The unit has a dishwasher and there is a gas BBQ on the beachfront lawn. Plus, the view from the dining table on the lanai was better than at almost any restaurant we visited. The owners (Sam and George) are very friendly and the booking/payment process is well-organized and professional. The information package provided was invaluable. We were looking for a clean, quiet, and well-located condo and this was definitely delivered. We would return without hesitation."Guest: ajmc Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 9, 2014View listing
"We had a wonderful week. The owners were so helpful and gave us great tips. The condo is beautiful, and the lanai is large and right on the beach with great views! We especially liked being only a few steps away from the beach and also easy close parking. The resort overall is wonderful and the service awesome. Our favorite part was the beach, beautiful and easy snorkeling right in front! Can't wait to go back!!! Thanks Again Gale and Tom!"Guest: Laurie Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 6, 2014View listing
"This is my 7th time in Maui - I've stayed at a lot of condos all over the world through VRBO and this is by far the nicest unit I've ever stayed in. I usually don't write reviews but I was really impressed by this place. So, where do I begin? The condo is huge and in immaculate condition. The layout of the unit is PERFECT for large families or two (or three) couples - the bedrooms are at opposite sides so provide privacy and tons of room to spread out. We were astonished by how soundproofed the rooms were too. The extra attention to detail by the owners was especially appreciated - hair dryers, beautiful shampoos and lotions, beach toys, beach towels, beach chairs, extra pillows, THREE TVs (with cable and great sports and movie channels) and a fantastic local property manager who made sure our stay was perfect. And the bed. THAT BED! I've never had better sleeps (I actually wrote the name of it down). The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, utensils and the whole place was beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the games and cards the owners provided. The property is gated and secure, including underground parking. The condo is very close to the elevator which was nice for hauling our groceries up. Top beaches and shopping are close by. We enjoyed running along the boardwalk in the morning, and walking down to the mall in the afternoon. There's also amazing restaurants close by - Star Kitchen (about a 5 minute drive) was a hidden gem recommended by the owner and a must! We ate there three times. Perhaps the best feature about this property is the LANAI! This unit had the largest lanai on the property I think, you can even suntan there during the day if there's no beach chairs left at the pool. The doors all opened to make it open air, giving you more room to spread out. We had our meals out there each day and was very convenient on the first floor (once you stay on the first floor you'll NEVER go back!). In the morning you can grab a latte and fresh eggs from the coffee shop in the lobby. You can swim at the pool, have a happy hour drink or a bite to eat at Duke's restaurant (SO good) and then walk right out to the beach - it was truly terrific! We couldn't have asked for anything better. Seriously people, this is an amazing property! Do it. Just do it."Guest: The Breggs Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 9, 2014View listing
