  • Great home, great location

"Our family of 5 adults and 3 children (ages 7, 6 and 2) spent a week here and loved every minute. The pool was perfect for the kids who weren't seaworthy. Location couldn't be better -- easy walk to Kaanapali beaches, restaurants and shopping and other beaches with terrific snorkeling were short drives away. Got to swim with the turtles. Home includes beach towels, toys and chairs, so we were fully outfitted for a day at the beach. With respect to the review that mentioned little critters -- during our week, I saw one tiny little guy and he was in the yard, so definitely not a detraction or a reason not to stay here. Would have moved in permanently if Angelia would have let me :). Hope we will be able to make a return trip some day. Also, this house has very nice central air conditioning -- not all vacation rentals on the islands have central air -- which made for a very nice, climate-controlled environment. Wonderful home."

  • Excellent Unit

"This was our third visit to the Mahana property. Our unit had outstanding amenities that were provided free of charge. We did a lot of cooking and having the necessary spices, foil, saran wrap and baggies saved us from having to buy them just for a 9 day stay. We also really enjoyed the "pay it forward" bottle of wine that we opened as soon as we walked into the condo after a looonnnggg trip from Florida. That was very much appreciated. It was special to be able to eat all our meals on the lanai. Such a gorgeous view is why I love to stay at this property. The furnishings were superb and I appreciate the effort made by the owners to make their unit one of the best available in the one bedroom Mahana category. I would certainly recommend this unit and give it 5 stars! We enjoyed a few dinners at Dukes, but would also highly recommend the Fish Market just down the street from the Times grocery. You can buy gourmet "carry-out" dinners prepared by a former chef at Mama's Fish house. The quality of the food is excellent and you can't beat eating out on the lanai with a nice bottle of wine and candles. Truly a special experience."

  • Excellent spot to be with kids with great views

"We stayed in this condo unit with five adults and four young kids. It was the perfect location with easy access to beach and pool. The unit came equipped with everything we needed for the week and we love how there is a cafe and a restaurant on the property for those last minute needs or lazy days at the beach or pool."

  • The Perfect Location for A relaxing Getaway

"My husband and I came to Honua Kai in search of a relaxing vacation after a stressful season at work. We got just what we needed here. The second you walk into Honua Kai you know you are going to enjoy your stay. Our villa was perfect, amazing views of the property and the ocean, really clean, with cozy decor. We were able to watch some amazing sunsets from our balcony and enjoyed breakfast on the balcony more than once during our stay. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and there is a market less than five minutes away. In addition, there is a snorkel rental place right across the street where my husband and I rented snorkel gear. We snorkled at the beach in front of Honua Kai and the Westin and saw sea turtles and beautiful fish. The property is in a great location such that its not a far drive to some really nice places for dinner and happy hour. We had a great time at this rental and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in taxing a relaxing and fun vacation in Maui."
