"For our Maui getaway, my husband and I looked at many properties and their reviews on VRBO before finally choosing Jeanne's condo at the Maui Kaanapali Villas. This condo was updated, had charm, was air conditioned, and had lovely views. The resort had a swimmable beach, onsite restaurant/bar, and convenient access to shopping and restaurants (easy walk to Whalers Village or drive to Lahaina). We were very happy with our decision!
We arrived at night to this spacious, softly lit and beautifully decorated studio unit. The condo was cool and inviting and the gorgeous draperies, tasteful furniture and accents, and many personal touches exuded warm Hawaiian charm. Fresh potted orchids, a welcome basket of Hawaiian goodies, and a fresh flower lei on the bed pillow with handwritten welcome note from Jeanne made us feel like very special guests. The King bed, pillows, and bed linens were wonderfully comfortable as was the white slip-covered sectional. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved the Cuisinart machine that brewed delicious coffee (we used the local island ground coffee that Jeanne had graciously left for us in the welcome basket). The little red cooler and cooler packs provided came with us every day to the beach as did the beach chairs and towels. The large nicely tiled bathroom/dressing area had ample storage in the drawers and closet, extra toiletries carefully arranged in the drawers, as well as shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body wash. We enjoyed relaxing on this end-unit's patio with its nice ocean view. Looking across the hedge and road was a vacant lot fronting the ocean. It was fun watching the steady stream of people strolling or jogging down the beachwalk in the distance. A lovely, pristine pool and fantastic hottub(nice and hot with excellent jets) was very close to our unit in the 'Coconut' building. A pleasant 3 minute walk through the gorgeous landscaped MKV resort took us past the larger oceanfront pool to the magnificent Kaanapali beach. We explored the beach in both directions and on the other side of Black Rock and congratulated ourselves every time we came back to 'our own beach'. It was the best....Quiet, with a nice level expanse of soft sand, gentle swimmable surf, onsite beach equipment rentals (we rented the comfy beach cabana....amazing!), and steps away from the most refreshing Pina Coladas at the awesome Castaway Cafe. Life is good! Thank you so much Jeanne for your hospitality. We can't wait to come back!"
