"I have been meaning to write this review for a long time. My husband and I stayed in this condo for a little over a week in February, 2015. We had talked for years about going to see the whales in Maui. This year we had the opportunity to do so, so I set out to find a waterfront condo where we could watch the whales from the lanai and it wouldn't break the bank. From our first interaction with Bob until the end of our trip, everything went smoothly. He answered all my questions and I felt confident we picked the right place to stay. We left our house and it was -6 degrees outside and we arrived on Maui to temperatures in the 80s. When we got to the condo, the first thing we noticed when we walked inside was how clean it was. Then, of course, we had to go look at the view. I knew it was ocean front and close to the water, but until you actually see it, you don't really know how fabulous it is. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think about that view....of course it is our computer screensaver so that helps! We got up in the morning, sat out on the lanai and watched for whales. This was pretty much our routine whenever we were in this condo. I hate to admit that we are tv watchers on vacation and we did the first night, but it was never turned on again our entire trip. The condo complex is in a nice area and it was a great home base to wherever we wanted to travel to on the island. If you are looking for a whale watch, we went out on the Teralani. We definitely recommend it. We went out first thing in the morning and it was not crowded so there was a good view from anywhere on the boat. We loved going to Front Street and walking around. Local Boys Shave Ice was our favorite daily treat. We also enjoyed Aloha Mixed Plate for breakfast, the fried rice is very addicting. Before I end, I just want to say that it is obvious the owners take pride in their condo. The upgrades are wonderful. This is definitely a condo we would recommend to anyone looking for an oceanfront place to stay on Maui. We have already begun to save so we will be able to return."

"What a view! From the moment we opened the door, we were swept away by the proximity to the water, and the views of Lanai and Molokai. We ran from room to room to explore, and were never disappointed. The master bedroom, with its views of the water was phenomenal, and our daughter very much appreciated her own room with her ensuite bathroom.
The kitchen was extremely well stocked, with a wide variety of spices in the cupboard. There wasn't anything that we looked for that we couldn't easily find. The washer / dryer was a bonus, as this allowed us to pare down the amount of clothing we would normally bring for an extended stay. Doug's assistance was invaluable leading up to the rental period. He even sent us a number of brochures for local activities prior to our leaving for Maui so we could maximize our time spent on the island. There's a selection of stores within walking distance to secure the essentials, so if you don't want to travel too far, you really don't have to venture out by car unless you feel the need to explore. As other reviewers have mentioned, the unit is well stocked. We very much appreciated the beach gear that was included... beach towels, beach chairs, noodles and various aquatic equipment.
On a technical note, the owner has recently installed a lockset on the front door that does away with keys. We arrived, went up the elevator and were in the unit in less than two minutes from locking the car. No need to check in with an office, or worry about taking keys with you to the pool, beach or excursion. Very convenient.
During the day, we could see the whales breaching off the coast and the beautiful sunsets from the lanai, and a double rainbow one day that arched from Lanai to Molokai. Almost as spectacular were the stars on the clear nights. I would not hesitate to recommend this condo to friends or family, and only hope we get the chance to venture to Maui again soon, as I know where I want home base to be."

"I went with 9 family members for vacation. We have stayed in Kahana Sunset several times before in other condos. This condo was just perfect for my daughter, her 2 year old and me. We had a great time on the private beach, barbecued dinner and enjoyed great views. Kahana Sunset is conveniently located to shopping, great restaurants and attractions such as zip lining, snorkeling and parasailing. We saw three huge sea turtles swimming in the private beach area. The complex is beautifully maintained. We will definitely rent this condo again."

"Perfect location for our Maui vacation. Terrific, spacious, clean condo with astonishing views and a great atmosphere. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the balcony, watching the turtles swim by, a rainbow nearly every day. Large enough family/dining area for four of us (2 adults, 2 young teenagers) without anyone feeling crowded. Well-stocked kitchen, nice cross-breezes, good snorkeling right off the beach, lots of beach equipment, towels, etc. I've rented apartments in London, Paris, Florida, etc and this was among the better maintained properties, with responsive management, and great info on local restaurants and activities provided by the owners. Highly recommended."
