  • Everything for a relaxing holiday

"We stayed here for 10 days in March 2014. Had problem finding unit due to odd numbering system but luckily one of residents helped us out. Unit is lovely, absolutely everything catered for, no need to buy seldom used items like condiments etc as plenty available. Kitchen very well equipped with everything we needed. Bed very comfortable. We did find not having glass in top half of windows in bedroom draughty as the weather was quite windy and wet for couple days when we first arrived. Again owner had thought of everything and we piled on the extra blankets stored under the bed. We didn't need fans at all as weather not hot enough. (We used to live in Middle East where 30 deg upwards is the norm.). Views from Lanai beautiful as were sunsets. Beach mostly deserted, great for taking wave/surf photos or just sunbathing. Pool ideal to cool off when weather warm enough. We were kindly supplied with local information by agent, very useful. At first it seemed to be a long drive into town but we got used to it, specially as there is hardly any traffic on the road and scenery lovely. Local fruit/veg farm on the way (kumu) definitely worth stopping at. The little shop on the site also stocks things you might forget or run out of. Staff on site very friendly. A car is needed to see the Island although there is a free bus service which stops at the complex and takes 10-15 minutes into town. Would highly recommend this unit for a relaxing stay on a beautiful island. We wished we had booked it for much longer and hope to return sometime in the future."

  • Beautiful and peaceful place

"My wife and I spent there great 5 days. If you want to relax and run away from the crowd, Molokai is best place to stay. Very few tourists. Lots of deserted beaches. Condo is nice, clean and well equiped. Perfect to stay for 2 people. View from the terrace is amazing and unforgettable. We have seen dolphins and watched sunset while drinking wine. Pitty that we live so far away...If we have a chance to come to Hawaii again we will definitely come back to this condo!"

  • Our stay in paradise

"The pictures do not do the location of this house justice! The snorkeling off the near-private beach was amazing, although quite a swim to get there. The location was extremely private, never did we spend an evening indoors. The house was as-described...however, we were disappointed that there were no spare paper towels and trash bags, and the spices for cooking were severely lacking, especially considering we had to buy salt. We have rented from homeaway and vrbo sites a dozen times and never experienced the lack of such basics. That being said, if we come back to Molokai again, we would definitely want to stay here."

  • Private Paradise

"Our one week stay at Hale Kai, Cottage by the Sea was everything promised and more. We travelled to Molokai to celebrate my retirement and enjoyed every moment on this property and on this special, very Hawaiin island. If it's a natural, true Hawaiin experience you're looking for, away from the city, resorts and tourist traps, this place is for you. The property is beautiful, secluded, private, clean and comfortable. Molokai is unique: quiet, friendly, and proud of its native culture. Hale Kai is a wonderful place to get away from it all and enjoy the ocean and beauty of Hawaii."
