"This is our second time staying at Bob's condo at the Wavecrest resort. The first time for one week and recently for a one-month stay. The condo was very clean with a nicely updated kitchen. There are beautiful ocean views from inside the condo and on the patio looking over to the island of Maui. We could see whales from the patio.
Other reviews have mentioned the roosters crowing in the morning. We closed the bedroom window at night and I used earplugs and got a good nights sleep.
There is no air-conditioning in the unit, but the ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room kept us cool.
The oceanfront pool and cabana are very nice features of the property. It is a small resort, and it is easy to meet people.
The beach out front is not a good swimming beach as it is an ancient fish pond with a muddy bottom. There are beaches 3 miles and 7 miles from the condo for swimming and snorkeling (and also on the West End).
The Wavecrest resort is 13 miles east of the town of Kaunakakai. We made most of our meals at the condo (often using the barbecues by the pool) and saved our dining out for when we were exploring the island and in town for the Saturday market. There is also a small grocery store and good walk-up diner/window for take-out food 3 miles from the condo. We enjoyed the ukulele jam sessions on Tuesdays at the coffee store and Fridays at Hotel Molokai.
Molokai is NOT the island for you if you want lots of nightlife, fancy restaurants and high-end shopping malls. We like Molokai because of the uncrowded, laid-back lifestyle-no chain stores, no traffic jams, no reason to rush around from one tourist activity to another! We enjoyed exploring the Island-the West End beaches, the Kalaupapa lookout and Sugar Mill Museum, the beautiful Halawa Valley on the East End, hiking, etc. And plenty of time for swimming in the pool, relaxing in the sun and reading.
The booking process was easy with Bob, and he called to make sure everything was fine after we arrived. We hope to stay here again when we return to Molokai.

"We stayed here for a few nights between Christmas and New Year's, and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Barbara and Cal have provided everything one would need. It's very quiet, very comfortable - a great place to enjoy the beautiful sunsets each evening. It was exactly what we were looking for. It proves there are still bargains to be found in Hawaii, without sacrifcing beauty or quality.

"The properties at Ke Nani Kai are well represented as you see them on the internet, nothing misleading. Very nice, perhaps the nicest places to stay in Molokai. Great vaca. Love the simplicity of the island and there was plenty to do during the weekwe were here. Hiking, shore fishing, deep sea fishing, and of course the awesome beaches.
I would have rated this particular unit a 5, except the patio sliding screen doors did not stay on the tracks. Slightly frustrating at times, but in the grand scheme of things not a big deal. The landlord did try to get it fixed while we were here. I definitely recommend this place."

"We had a great stay here! The condo was very clean and had everything you might want for a comfortable stay. Cathy was very nice and stopped by on our first day to check in and make sure everything was going well. Despite being on the ground floor you still have an amazing view out to the ocean and the island of Lanai. The pool on the property is also quite nice and a great spot to spend some time relaxing. We were visiting Molokai for the first time with a large group of friends who were largely also able to stay at Wavecrest because there are other condos available for rent. This a huge plus for traveling with a larger group! The island is not very large so we were able to easily get to all of our adventures from this condo! All in all we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Molokai!"
