"My wife and I just returned from our Honeymoon on Molokai, during which time we stayed at this lovely cottage for 8 nights (NOT LONG ENOUGH). Being on Molokai is a dream; a short, easy flight from Maui (25 minutes), yet YEARS away from the crowds and well-worn "package-tourism" trail. The island itself is delightful - friendly, slow-paced, yet visually stunning and abounding in authentic activities you'll find nowhere else in the islands. From the mule ride down the tallest sea-cliffs on earth to the Kalaupapa peninsula, to deep-sea charters that are as professional, yet affordable as any in the Hawaiian islands, if you are looking for adventure and a taste of "Old Hawaii", then Molokai is THE place for you. BUT...there is no reason to sacrifice on comfort during your stay! This house is OUTSTANDING. Not only is it situated on the prettiest part of the island, but it is clean, quiet, very well appointed, and gives off a delightful, airy feel. Architecturally, it feels like yesteryear, yet with all the modern conveniences; you will want for nothing. The swimming, snorkeling, line and spear fishing off the beach are great, sand there is a well-appointed little market and take-away 3 miles down the road that has a surprising variety of both essentials within the shop and a great variety of tasty local fare at the counter, which is open from early AM until 4:30 PM. As for casual dining in the main town (19 miles away), it is there if you need it, but you won't - take advantage of the well-stocked kitchen and great outdoor grill! Pour a Mai Tai, grill some steaks, ribs, or fish, and gaze across the channel to Maui where folks are paying 5 times what you did for dinner, without 1/2 the view, or 1/10th the Aloha...
Mahalo, Catherine, for a wonderful stay, and for making sure we were happy, safe, and satisfied with your beautiful oceanfront home! We will be back!!!"
