  • Wonderful Yard

"The other reviews do a nice job of describing Molokai. I'd only say that we wish that we'd had more time on the island. A long weekend wasn't enough to explore everything. The property itself is delightful. The yard really is as large as the pictures make it look. It's landscaped in such a way that we couldn't see the house to the south and only from the back of the yard could we see the house to the north, so it feels very private. There are many coconut palms (and we had fresh coconut on our last day after finding one that had fallen), papaya trees, lilikoi, and lots of other things I don't know the names of. As others have mentioned, the gazebo is quite nice for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. From the house and the yard, there is a clear view of Maui and Lanai. (I think that was also Kaho'Olawe in the distance.) As you'd expect from somewhere relatively rural, at night there are zillions of stars. Being on the east end of the island, you will want to stock up on food, etc., since there's no quick trip to the store. On the other hand, it's quiet and peaceful with little traffic. The house itself works well. The space is laid out efficiently, so we felt like we had enough space for cooking, eating, sleeping, and lounging around. I hope to be able to return to Molokai soon to explore what we missed. I'd definitely stay here again."

  • Aloha Beach House and Moloka'i---a perfect match!

"Stayed 10 days at the Aloha Beach House and it could not have been better. The house really is steps away from the ocean. What the pictures of the interior don't show is that you're only seeing the bottom half of the rooms. There are wonderful vaulted ceilings especially in the great room (living, dining, kitchen) and master bedroom which provide light and air. It's instant therapy! You just feel lighter and happier. The house is located on the east end of the island, which is wetter. We enjoyed (probably because we're from Oregon) the rain several nights and the variable weather. The ever-changing views of the ocean, Maui and Lana'i were fantastic! And the most unbelievable thing was you could stand in the ocean at low tide a few hundred feet from the beach and see absolutely no one else in the water or on the beach. Hard to believe in this noisy, crowded world. Do your research on Moloka'i. No real night life and no 24/7 businesses but an incredible place to visit. And the beach house is highly recommended. Washer/dryer was enormous plus and house equipped with pretty much everything you'll need."

  • Beautiful home Beautiful island

"We return to molokai every year and feel very fortunate to stay at the Hala House. The Hala House spoils you in that it is the nicest home in the area and just a few feet from the beach. Everything you can imagine, the house is very well appointed, newer and immaculate. From the moment you walk into the house and see the ocean and island view, it's just simply what paradise should look like. We capture all that Molokai has to offer from swimming, diving, hiking, fishing and Hunting all in this neighborhood paradise playground without the tourist hassle. As a couple we enjoy the tranquility and relaxation as if it's our own private home and beach. The best part is awaking to the sunrise over Maui and the Ocean view from the gorgeous master bedroom suite, having our coffee on the lawn chairs, breakfast on the lanai while watching the ocean, turtles and whales. Excellent owners, and property management whom stayed in contact, very helpful even though everything was perfect. Our family and friends have had the most wonderful memories at the Hala house that surpasses all. The pictures don't even do this home justice, the house and surrounding area has staggering beauty."

  • Old Hawaii at it's best - Best Lanai views on the island

"We booked this for the 2nd half of our honeymoon. Knowing that it was old Hawaii, wanting seclusion, privacy, amazing views of both Maui and Lanai from our lanai, the hilltop cottage was perfect. Reading through the guest book and some reviews, the guests concur that if you want resort quality experience this is not (nor probably Molokai) the place for you. Go to Honolulu if that is what you want or need. We found it to be far more larger than any of the photos made it appear. There even is a jacuzzi in the bathroom that is not pictured which was delightful. Nothing obstructs your view at all. You are probably 200 feet above the main highway and nothing is behind or in front of you. 3 min from awesome snorkeling. The owner has a couple smaller properties on site but we never felt our privacy or seclusion were compromised. Kitchen was spacious and had everything one needed to cook your own meals. They do need to add a BBQ. The owner was helpful, responsive, and cordial. She provides a great resource book and gave us a heads up on some of the must-do must see's. Seeing what other properties are offered on Molokai, we would definitely come back again."

Waialua Beach

Waialua Beach is one of the most secluded beaches on the island. It is considered an ideal spot for body surfers or for those who want to test their newly discovered surfing skills on beginner sized waves. Swimming and sunbathing are also superb. Just off the beach you will find a general store, but not so close that it interferes with your intimate ocean experience.

Attractions Near Your Molokai Lodgings

Just outside of Waialua you will find a huge variety of attractions. With natural rainforests, Molokai offers some of the most beautiful hiking and bicycling in the world. World-class fishing is also a major attraction of the island. Kayaking and cruises are just a couple more of the options you will have as you explore the world just outside your Waialua vacation rental.
