  • I call this my home in Hawaii

"I never wrote any reviews in my life. I just got back from Hawaii yesterday and this is the first thing that I am doing after I unpacked all my luggages. I and my husband couldn't believe what we were seeing when we walked in to the place. Everything was as it was written, so clean and organized. We will definitely come back on next trip to Hawaii. We couldn't ask for more but just wished it had come with free parking :) Just a few things that I want the owner to know: 1. One of the snorkelling gear set is missing a mask. (we went to Hanauma bay and found out that a mask was missing and had to walk all the way back to the parking to get money to rent a mask :( ) 2. The door doesn't close very well. On the first night, we came back from a grocery shopping and so shocked to see the door wasn't closed. Checked out the unit immediately but everything was find. We just let the door go thinking that it would just close but you have to pull real hard to close it. 3. The keys didn't work well. A few days after arrival, we realized that one of the key didn't work. So we used the other key but on the last day none of them worked. It was right before the check out time so we were so freaking out and ran to the front dest. Thank got they made a copy. We went up but still not working. Went down again and they fix them up and this time they worked. Phew! 4. The shower handle needs to be pulled real hard! 5. The parking fee is $25 per day not $20 Other than that I couldn't ask for more! (Maybe the parking ;)) We are thinking of going to Hawaii next year already and we will book this place again for sure! Thanks Gerard for sharing your lovely place with us. (There are some Musubi in the fridge I forgot to take them with me Sorry! But bottles of water and juice we left them for next people) Thanks again and I will talked to you soon ;) Alvi"

  • Great location, beautiful house, fun times

"Wonderful experience with this house all the way from the inquiry to the checkout. We rented this large house for a multi-generational family gathering of 16. This big house fit us all with room to spare! Great kitchen facilities, we loved hanging by the pool and took full advantage of all the beach amenities. The town of Kailua is a peaceful little place with some of the prettiest beaches you will ever see. It has good restaurants, a Whole Foods and a couple of bars. Buzz's restaurant near the Kailua beach park is a must do, with the largest portions of any place I have been to. We will definitely come back to this place. We love the town and the house."

  • Blew me away! I had no idea this was so big and beautiful!

"I had the opportunity and honor of staying at this home for an entire week. I saw the pictures online, but I had no idea that the place was so big and beautiful. When we drove up to the place the place didn't look all that impressive other than for the big wall and gate. Once we got beyond the gate I started to appreciate the size and magnitude of the property. I had a chance to meet the lovely staff who keeps and maintains the property for the owner. These people work hard to do their best to give a wonderful vacation experience to the guest. When I arrived we entered through the garage and kitchen. It was after a couple of days I realized that the official entrance to the home was through a calm, beautiful, and impressive Japanese garden. It is a shame that the Japanese garden is secluded on the side of the house. After I discovered the garden I made it a point to spend some private time in the garden everyday. If I were still doing yoga on a regular basis, this is where I would want to do it. I was blown away with the amount of green grass and open space that this house offers in a neighborhood that has so many smaller lots and modest sized homes. You will be shocked when you see how much open space this place has for getting sun, playing games, cooking out, and relaxing without other people invading your privacy. The room I slept in had a California King bed as well as another double bed in the loft area. I had a private bathroom with a shower. The room was able to be completely open with screen doors or no doors at all. I have never experienced such openness and loved it. The pool was always cleaned and well maintained. The pool guy came once or twice during the week and we never had an issue at all. The hot tub was especially easy to operate and was great for my ailing ankle. While we never cooked at home during our stay, we did bring food in a couple of times. The outside kitchen, eating area, and family room was perfect for our home time. One night we ate at the table and then played games in the family room until well after the sun went down. If you stay in the rooms in the back house or long wing, you should know that there is a private TV room on the second floor that is absolutely perfect for escaping the rest of the clan if you desire. I enjoyed hanging in the private TV room and reading my book for an afternoon break. I can't imagine a better place for a family like ours. We were able to have fun and connect."

  • Beautiful Get Away with the Best Value for the Money, Location, and Ammenities

"After having a Beautiful Wedding in Waikiki, we wanted to take advantage of having all of our friends in my new wife’s home state since we currently live in Chicago. We had eleven adults (including ourselves) who extended the festivities to spend a week on the North Shore to relax and unwind. First, setting up the rental was an enjoyable experience; we had other property managers feel a little overwhelmed by the multiple questions from 11 adults planning a vacation. Steffany was amazing. She responded to all of our inquiries in a timely and positive manner. Like most people, we had anxiety that when we arrived at the property, that it would not be what we expected. In this case, the property did not exactly match the photos on this site, but "wow" we were pleasantly surprised. The pictures do not do the views or the home justice. Additionally, the bathrooms are newly renovated and beautiful. As for the amenities, both kitchens are fully stocked with the needed materials to cook for eleven people. Additionally, we had two grilling gurus who were overly impressed with the well maintained Weber Genesis grill. We used it every night to cook and the owners provide extra propane in case you run out. The little extra amenities for the beach were a welcome find. They have every type of flotation device for the beach including boogie boards. Additionally, three of our friends spent hours snorkeling in the reef close to shore using the equipment that was easy to find. They even had enough beach chairs and a cooler for those who wanted to just enjoy the beach. The beach is right there so the cooler was only needed to avoid the 100 yard walk to the kitchen – but it is vacation! The location was perfect. You are an enjoyable morning walk from Ted’s bakery where people enjoyed breakfast and lunch many times during our stay! Additionally, through the Living Social website, friends were able to find deals on local adventures including paddle board and surf board lessons. Though my wife and I rarely left the beautiful accommodations since we were recovering from the wedding events the week before, our friends ventured out to explore the excellent local food at towns nearby and Turtle Bay. I highly recommend this beautiful location for a retreat that is not too far away from everything, but feels completely secluded. The amenities, customer service, price and accommodations make it the perfect North Shore get away."
