  • What a Gem!! Perfect for Beach, Relaxing, and Site Seeing!! Absolutely a do-over!

"Julie's Cabana is a treasure! My friend and I had such a wonderful relaxing time. The beach was fabulous and so close. The Cabana itself was a little oasis; so clean, relaxing, calming! Just perfect for what we needed. Small and quaint but enough space to not be on top of each other. The kitchen worked well for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Julie had lots of great ideas for places to visit. The outdoor shower was a treat - truly refreshing after time at the beach. We had family on the island and the location was perfect for us to gather for a couple of hours, go to the beach, have fun in Kailua. I would absolutely recommend it. Maybe you'll get a visit from Cosmo too!"

  • Wonderful family vacation rental

"This was our 5th time renting with Bluekailua vacation properties, 4 times at Hiatt Hale which can easily accommodate our group of 10 (6 adults, 4 kids). This home is very well maintained and has had numerous recent upgrades (new QUIET air conditioning which keeps it a comfortable temperature, new kitchen and bathrooms, new indoor and outdoor furniture and a recent new large outdoor BBQ. Also a security gate around the pool to protect little ones from wandering too close to water unsupervised). The home is so nice and well laid out with privacy for all guests due to a roomy floorplan. The 5th bedroom is a bit smaller with a trolley bed, so best for smaller kids, but still very comfortable. The house is well located with private beach access to Kailua beach (through a private lane). The beach is amazing - great for swimming and body surfing (toys including boogie boards etc are included). The beach was never busy - we felt like locals. Good restaurants and food stores are a short drive away, and Honolulu is only about 20 minutes via 3 different routes. There is good access to all roads and it is an easy launch to the North Shore. Our favorite outings are various drives along the coast, the north shore, Dole plantation, and Friday night fireworks in Waikiki (Hilton Hawaii Village at 745 pm friday only). When not sightseeing, our family spent hours by the spacious and well maintained pool - the kids could swim forever, and the pool is nestled in a yard that is protected from wind with a covered lanai for shade. Wonderful! Carolyn is always there to make sure things are in order, and she is a lovely, gracious, and friendly host. The only thing is beware of large car rentals. The garage is small and all cars must be parked inside. Our Chevy Tahoe JUST managed to fit with barely a fraction of an inch to spare. Rent smaller cars/SUV if possible. Beyond that, nothing but good things to say. We are looking forward to renting again (for the 6th time) sometime soon."

  • Jeff Tedesco

"We rented this house in Late July to early August 2014. We have two teenage boys, ages 20 and 16. We loved this house. We had space to spread out, outdoor shower which we all loved, kitchen area to make most of our meals and a great deck to sit and relax. The beach is a short walk away (1 minute or so) and had nice waves and a good stretch of beach. I walked the full length of the beach to Lanakai several times (about 2.5 miles each way). Overall, great stay. House was funky, old and had charm to it. This isn't a brand new condo unit which we didn't want anyway. But it worked for all of us perfectly. Also, we were met by Molly who manages property and she checked in with us a couple of times during the week. I'd recommend this for a family with either 2 teens or a family with 3 small children. Beach had pretty good surf coming in (2-3 feet) so possibly this isn't a beach for toddlers but it has to do with time of year you are visiting. BBQ was nice so we could cook dinners. Last you should have a car so you can go into town to get groceries, go out to dinner etc. It isn't walking distance to Kailua. But overall, we were really happy with it."

  • Best place ever

"This place was great! Huge living and sleeping space. Got to cook in with the stove and grill and a great pool for everyone to swim in. Very close to one of the most beautiful beach in Hawaii. I highly recommend this place to all my friends and everyone else. I might come back next year ya? Lol."
