"My family and I stared here in July and we had a great time. The rental is in Kailua so it is not as busy as the west side of the island. It was very relaxing. The house is fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy a great vacation. The neighborhood is very quiet. We didn't really need to buy anything as the house had just about everything we needed, to include: dishwasher, fridge with icemaker, a washer/dryer, boogie board, games, wifi, coolers, beach chairs and towels. Greg is a great host and made our stay enjoyable. We had an issue with the Wifi one night and he called his provider and had it reset within the hour (made our teenage boys very happy). The beaches in Kailua are great and not crowded. Safeway is less than a mile away and the center of town is less than 2 miles away. We will definitely consider staying here again when we travel back to the island."

"Staying in the cottage felt like being home. Because I am from Hawaii, I am extremely picky about location, and it just can't get any better than this. As others have mentioned, the beach is far enough away from the beach park to seem almost secluded, but still close enough to Kalapawai market and Island Snow shave ice to take a lunch break from swimming and sunning. The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen, so much so that we invited friends for brunch. Chairs, towels, wifi, all the comforts of home. Dick and Wanda are gracious hosts with a lovely family and made us feel welcome from the minute we got there. We are already looking at dates for next year to make sure we don't miss the opportunity to stay here again! Mahalo, Dick and Wanda, a hui hou!"

"I was a little leery since I had never rented a place off of VRBO, but I took a chance with Bob's rental, and I'm SO GLAD I did! Bob made the reservation process very easy, and he even advised us on a better route to his home than what I originally had. We drove an Expedition and had no issues parking in the driveway. When we arrived (on his birthday!), Bob met us at the house, and he was very friendly and helpful. The house had more than enough space to accommodate our family of 6 (ages 6-41). The view from the deck is absolutely amazing and breathtaking. Based on our pictures and family videos, many of our relatives back home said the ocean-facing side of the house was beautiful and relaxing. My husband would also go running in the mornings around the neighborhood and commented that the neighbors were very friendly. Although we did not use them, there were kayaks, a paddle board, boogie boards, life jackets. There were also beach toys provided that our 6-yr-old enjoyed using. We visited many places on the island - Pearl Harbor, Polynesian Cultural Center, Ala Moana Beach Park, Dole Plantation, Kailua Beach, Byodo-In Temple, Kualoa Ranch, Waimanalo Beach etc, and Bob's rental was a great location to make a quick resting stop during the day or return to for the night. We would definitely come back!"

"This was our first time using VRBO and utilizing a vacation rental, but it was really a great experience! We stayed at Beachside in May/June for 4 nights while exploring the island and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Martha was an incredible host - she was completely respectful of our privacy but was there if we needed help or just to chat if we wanted to. We knew that we weren't going to be there much as we had limited time on Oahu and wanted to go, go, go! It was really a perfect location to some of the island's finest sights and Kailua Beach, which was a short walk away, was absolutely beautiful! Martha gave us great insight on local attractions and had some great advice on nearby restaurants - I encourage visitors to utilize her knowledge because we weren't disappointed with any of her suggestions! The studio was everything that we needed - a comfortable bed to sleep in, and a homey place to clean up and unwind at the end of our extremely busy days. We particularly appreciated that they have a cooler that is available to use and the availability of both large and small towels (any woman who likes to use a separate towel for drying their hair understands what I'm talking about!). We also made use of the boogie boards onsite. The deck was a nice spot to sit in the mornings, drink coffee, and look for rainbows (yes, we saw a couple!). We had some complications with our payment going through but Martha was extremely gracious to us and very patient as we worked everything out. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you, Martha and Shawn, for your hospitality - we truly had a wonderful time!"
