  • Great location, Awesome space

"The listing description and pictures provided are accurate. The property was well maintained and had a nice Hawaiian decor with modern aesthetics. The owners were very helpful with the questions prior to renting the property. The property is attached to the owner's private home, but you still have your own entrance and feel secluded from the main home. Bathroom is large with a full walk-in shower, the kitchen amenities fit our needs, and the living and sleeping areas were more than sufficient and spacious. It truly felt like our home-away-from-home for the week and half we stayed here. The home is off the main highway and you can easily access the main freeways to get to downtown Honolulu, the North Shore, or the Southside. Kailua/Lanikai beach is nearby (I highly suggest renting a car if you stay at this property), and there are so many food and other amenities in Kailua Town (Whole Foods, Starbucks, CVS, etc). We enjoyed dinner at the Kalapawai Cafe (hawaiian fusion cuisine) and at PRIMA (wood-fired pizza); happy hour at Cactus was great! The owners supply a surplus of beach towels so you can head to the beach everyday...and they even offer to wash your towels with a quick turnaround. Do the Lanikai Pillboxes hike if you want a great view of the east side beaches! Thanks again to Jay and Alyson for making our visit to Hawaii comfortable and stress-free!"

  • Perfect home

"Stayed here in Jan '14. Everything just as stated. Super clean and beach access perfect. Shopping, eating, everything just minutes away. Owners extremely helpful. All the goodies you will need for the beach. No noise as in other places. The outside shower is great when leaving the beach. Speaking of the beach, when we sat out there was nobody within 2-300 yards of us. We are starting to plan again for next year and hope to extend our stay. Thanks for everything,"

  • Spring break at the Happy Kailua Beachside Home

"We were lucky enough to take our three kids, ages 16, 13 and 11, to Kailua over spring break. The house perfectly accommodated our family. The three bathrooms and kitchen were updated and spotless, the beds were all comfortable and the private yard had a great barbecue and was full of lush Hawaiian plants. We all appreciated the proximity of the house to the beautiful white sand beach and the availability of kayaks and standup paddle boards for rent. We spent our days relaxing and playing on the beach. I cannot recommend this house highly enough, and my family and I cannot wait to go back!"

  • Love Kailua!

"This property was centrally located so you could head one direction and be in the town square with all the stores, shops, restaurants that you could hope for or walk a bit in the other direction and reach the quaint Hawaiian style shops, fantastic shave ice and pizza. Just a short walk farther and you are at the best beach possible! Smooth sand, warm aqua blue water. And the cottage itself was perfect for my daughter and I. There was great attention to detail, nicely appointed for cooking, relaxing, coffee on the lanai. And if you need anything at all just ask Rick or Nancy. They were so helpful and enjoyable to visit with."
