"Stayed in the studio at the back of the building on the first floor. Nice king size bed, and was able to use their two burner stove to cook meals each day. Comes with everything you need, even a beach towel and snorkel for the beach that's just across the road. Their location is so amazing, you walk to the beach and it's a great spot for snorkeling, swimming, lounging on the beach, etc. Mary was a great host, helpful with the questions I had and general information about the area. Thanks!"

"Our 3 generation family of 11 loved vacationing at Hiatt Hale. We would highly recommend this property for a family vacation. There was plenty of room, adequate bathroom space, beautiful outdoor spaces, and lovely furnishings throughout. The kids loved swimming in the private pool while parents barbequed family dinners. The beach, a very short walk away, was beautiful featuring amazing sunrises, mild surf, and soft sand. The home was in a perfect location for sightseeing in Oahu. Many places such as Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor were just a short drive away. If we were to plan another vacation to Hawaii we would return to Hiatt Hale! This property is sure to please people of all ages and interests!"

"My family of 13 stayed here and we had plenty of room. When we checked in we did not have air-con in the bedrooms and it made the stay unbearable. But the owner got on the ball and purchases some units as the house main system was broken for some reason. This house is great. And very roomy and perfect from the kitchen to the outside and to the pool. It flowed very well.
The walk to Kailua Beach takes about 90 seconds and does not cross any busy streets. Kailua beach is listed as one of the best beaches in the world.. Many golf courses and facilities around.
It also has many pool accessories for the kids.
1.The pool gets deep very fast and we had a 3 year old and it was a battle to constantly watch him as there are no barriers to the pool.
2. There is a busy road next to the house with constant traffic. But its not very noticeable as the property has many trees and bushes and is a compound structure around the house..But u can hear the traffic..
The property is a bit dated but mostly is was perfect for us. And I am very cynical as I travel around the world for work constantly. Its a great party house. Its so nice not to be in a hotel in Waikiki. House renting is the only way to go.."

"Our family had a great time staying here for a week over spring break. John is an ideal host - knowledgeable, approachable, relaxed, friendly, and not at all intrusive. He was easy to work with from the very outset, through the very end. The location itself is modest in size, but immaculate, modern and clean. Two bedrooms (one with double bed, the other 2 twins) were comfortable, not luxurious. Single wall unit a/c was perfectly adequate to cool entire place. With the ceiling fans on we didn't even need the a/c most of the time. Proximity to the beach is the real draw to this location - just steps away. Kailua may be getting some traffic downtown as it continues to grow, but this location remains quiet and private. We would rent here again. If you had a bicycle you could make this work. Otherwise you'd need a car."
