  • Perfect for our trip - 13 guests

"The house was great - it fit our large party very nicely. The pool was beautiful too. Plenty of seating, bedrooms, etc. Plenty of parking. Kailua Beach was 3 blocks away and one of the nicest beaches we have ever visited, so of course we went there every day. Becky was very attentive and took care of a few small issues for us very quickly. I would absolutely recommend this property for anyone in need of a vacation house."

  • Wonderful place in perfect location!

"We stayed at this wonderful home during the Christmas/New Year time 2014/2015. It is a great house for a large family or multiple smaller parties as is offers plenty of room indoors and out - we were 10 and it never felt crowded. The house itself has a great flow and was built by the owner himself - large common rooms (including an epic master suit with huge walk in closet, desks, separate shower and tub etc.). We cooked a lot and loved the outdoor BBQ and patio. The pool was a bit cold due to the cooler weather during our stay, but I understand the owner is going to install a heater system. The separate little pool house with shower and toilet was convenient too, so we could leave all the wet bathing suits outside. The location is perfect - just a quick 1 min walk to the beach through the park. There is a great market and coffee place just around the corner where we walked to almost every day (with a 3 year old, so no long distance). The shave ice store is, of course, famous and amazing and not to be missed. Buzz's cross the bridge is also a quick walk and has some nice food, especially for appetizers and cocktails. Nice hikes close by and great location to start exploring the island from. The beach itself is one of the nicest I have ever been to (and I have traveled a lot!). Gentle waves even in winter, but just enough of a surf for kids to do a bit of boogie boarding. Softest sand ever. And for the sun-conscious - lot's of shade if you want it. Another huge plus - the super cute resident chicken (Cornelia) - who kept our daughter entertained all day, every day! So gentle and sweet. Last but not least, the were lucky enough to meet the owners at the beginning and end of our stay - a wonderful family who will go above and beyond to make you comfortable. We communicated all the time during our stay (questions about how something works, small things that needed fixing, etc.) and they were amazingly helpful and responsive. During a storm when the power went out in the region the next door neighbor even came by and dropped off lanterns just to make sure his neighbor's guests were comfortable and well taken care of! We'd be back, just to see them again! Highly recommend!!"

  • Mom's getaway

"It is a great location and the beach is accessible by a short walk. I enjoyed getting up several mornings to witness the sunrise and take spectacular pictures! Jim and Nina are very welcoming. I was taken by surprise when I met a few ants and other bugs. Other than that I had a great time with my daughters."

  • Family Vacation

"The house provides an absolutely gorgeous view of the bay and the mountains. The upstairs great room is perfect for spreading out, and there is tons of space in the kitchen if you want to cook. The patios provide lots of room to enjoy the views and the tropical feeling of the area. It was great to have plenty of bathrooms as well as laundry available for our large group. Aside from the nice master bedroom upstairs, I wish the other bedrooms were a little better equipped with nicer beds and bedding...they all felt a little lacking in that department. Overall, though, we really enjoyed our stay."
