"My husband and I are from Canada and stayed here in August 2014. All the reviews written are accurate depictions of the cottage, which is a quite a private add on to the back of their garage. Positive comments first: Good value for the price. Hosts are kind, thoughtful, friendly and very helpful with as much or as little interaction as you want. Quiet, peaceful, private setting. Snorkels, wave boards, beach chairs and mats a plenty. Good sized fruit basket upon arrival as well as pastry for first morning and quality fruit preserves which lasted the week. Washer-dryer was great. Back private deck and lounge chairs. Kitchen has full fridge, micro, coffee maker and hot plate. Cooking items and dishes well stocked. Comfortable bed. Nice tiled shower. 5 minute walk to the beach path. Clean quiet beach with Hawaii's aqua marine clear water. Plenty of water sports to watch and participate in if desired: kite boarding, surf sailing, long Hawaiian canoe races, kayaking, etc. Beautiful breezes. Hosts friendly and accommodating in every way. They take credit card for payment. Negative aspects: floor tiles worn and cracked in places, but serviceable and clean. Kitchen cupboards were not clean and dishes and utensils not too clean (probably from infrequent use). As stated by others, washer-dryer are in garage and garage is quite messy. There are sky lights into the room which make the room nice and bright, but when the sun is out in full, a lot of heat comes in and you can't get away from the heat as there is no air conditioning: there is no way to shade the sky lights. But the price can't be beat, and we think the negative aspects can be overlooked because of the positive points."Guest: Pilgrim Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 30, 2014View listing
"We were in Kailua from Maui for the weekend. Andrea's was a great place to stay. The beach was close by for walking and the shopping center was about a mile away. Check out Cinnamon's for breakfast/lunch. The studio was comfortable and had everything we needed. Her prices were better than any others I looked at in Kailua. I would definitely recommend Andrea's Vacation Rental in Kailua and hope to be able to get back there one of these days."Guest: Judy Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 19, 2014View listing
"I stayed in the Jungle room with my 2 children. (Anna kindly offered me an extra room with 2 kids beds for no extra charge, but we did not need it). The Jungle room was big enough for the 3 of us to comfortably stay there with a king bed and a futon. The well equiped kitchen area meant we could prepare breakfast easily. There is a laundry facility which means you can pack lightly and Anna supplied beach towels. The room was clean and comfortable. Anna was an amazing host, she dropped off a laptop for my son to use and was very kind to my children. We had the use of snorkle gear and boogie boards. I felt safe leaving the children in the home alone in the morning, (this is a huge plus for any single parent who travels with their children and wants to go for an early run). The location is AAA. The walk to the beach is less than 2 mins. The cool coffee/deli, convenience store is right across the street. The store where you can rent paddle boards and kayaks is 2 mins walk. We walked into town every night, 15 mins max. The ocean was amazing, great for paddle board and kayaks, great for kids. We saw turtles in the first few hours. Anna's husband was also extremely kind and very helpful. Thank you both. We would definitely stay here again."Guest: Martina Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: March 12, 2014View listing
"We just returned home from 6 nights at Kai Nani. This was one of the best trips we have ever taken!! I highly recommend this property! After staying in Kailua, I don't think I'll ever want to stay in Waikiki again. The town is super laid back with amazing beaches and no crowds. We absolutely loved staying at this house rental. It was our first experience using VRBO and I wasn't sure what to expect. When we arrived, everything was set up for us, including a high chair and a pack n play. The house was super clean and there was a sweet welcome basket waiting for us. We worked with Uta to make our reservation and she was very kind and professional. She even bought us electrical outlet covers for our very curious toddler after we discovered that we forgot to bring ours. The house is actually even nicer than it looks in the pictures. We loved the backyard with the outdoor shower and used the BBQ almost every night to cook dinner. One of the things that impressed me the most with this house is that it was equipped with everything that you could need for your vacation. The kitchen had all the pots, pans and condiments that we needed for cooking. There were plenty of towels for us to use, tons of beach equipment and travel books on Hawaii. We even found some children's books for our son and a scrabble set for us! The only downside of this property is that it can be a little noisy since you are right on Kalaheo Ave, the main street in Kailua. After the first day, I didn't really notice it much. Overall the house is very comfortable, but the mattress in the Mango room was kind of lumpy and sagging. We slept in that room because we preferred having a king sized bed and needed some extra space for the pack n play. This wasn't a big deal to us-- after a day in the sun, we slept soundly. Everything in this property was very comfortable and well kept up and I highly recommend it!!! Mahalo for an amazing vacation!"Guest: Sharon Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 6, 2014View listing
