  • Great location

"My wife and I had a great experience at the Clay Art Studio. We just retired and this was our first Winter Get Away. The Clay Art was perfect for two people. the beach was only a short 1 1/2 blocks away. We visited about 4 other beaches but Kailua beach was by far the nicest. The town of Kailua had great shops and great local places to eat. Eva was a great host and the studio was clean and well kept and the pictures shown on the web site were spot on. We had a rental car and getting there was only 35 minutes from the airport. With the highway being on a few miles away, we found it was easy to do and go wherever we wanted. . When we go back, we will definitely stay here again."

  • Great value

"Very clean well kept cottage. Lots of windows with plenty of air movement...rarely used the air conditioner. Relatively quiet area not really close to the beach. It is probably a 20-25 minute walk which can be a bit much carrying all your beach attire. Really nice owner and Rosie the dog will greet you as you come and go. Car definitely needed to get around. Would stay again for sure."

  • Perfect location in Kailua

"Located a few short blocks from the beach, the Hula Breeze was the perfect tucked away spot in a quiet Kailua neighborhood. We felt like residents walking to and from the beach with all the neighbors saying hello and making us feel welcome. The Pineapple Room was cheery, clean and well-appointed. Everything we needed was right at hand. The gardens and pool were lovely and relaxing. The hosts, Allison and Sven, were warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this rental!"

  • Nice Little Cottage by the Sea!

"Let me preface this review by saying that Todd, the owner, was away during the time we stayed at the cottage. My partner and I stayed in the cottage from May 6th-11th. The cottage is exactly as shown in the photos. Actually, it’s bigger, airier, and brighter. There is a small backyard with a propane grill and a picnic seating area. We used the grill on four occasions during our five-night stay. We walked to the nearby markets (about fifteen minutes to Whole-foods and Times Supermarket) and picked up local fish called akule and some steaks—saving money and adding value to our stay at the cottage. The cottage is a little rough around the edges—but in a good way. It’s rustic casual feel sets you up for the state of mind and way of life that people live in the islands. Although it might not be a luxury hotel with chic furniture and pricy fixtures, it has more than you need to spend a week or two. The kitchenette featured a two burner hot plate, microwave, toaster oven, full-size refrigerator, sink, cups, plates, bowls, utensils, pans, pots—anything you could need. Todd was even so kind as to put in a small rice cooker when we had inquired about one before arriving and left a box of chocolates and local coffee for us. Thanks for that touch, Todd! The bedroom has two enormous windows behind the enormous bed, a perfect place for letting the early morning light wake you the island way. There’s a flat screen TV, cable, and wireless Internet. The TV even has an HDMI port, which enabled us to use our Chromecast to watch Netflix while winding down our days. There were plenty of towels, a washer and dryer outside for use—perfect for a quick wash before packing for home. While we were there, as mentioned Todd was away. His son was staying in the main house and as we know, while the cat’s away…long story short, he and some friends were sitting in the backyard, and, although they were not being loud, because of the open upper windows in the cottage, the sound carried directly into the space. Not wanting to ruin anyone’s fun, especially while I was on vacation I sent a few quick texts to Todd who managed to handle the situation beautifully and quickly all while on his own vacation. Todd was so gracious in his hosting that he even refunded us a night of our stay because of this minor inconvenience. Todd is truly an excellent host who really cares for the happiness of his guests. I would recommend this rental to everyone."
