"This property is amazing. A beautiful ocean view as far as you can see and a fabulous front yard with a pool and hot tub to wake up to each morning. The huge gazebo is perfect for eating and lounging about with a cocktail or two. The yard is lit up with pretty lights at night. It really is a great place to relax and enjoy! The home itself is very large with plenty of room and also very lovely. We had 5 adults and 2 children in our group. The kitchen has lots of room and there really is everything you need.
The owner was away when we were there, but her sister and mother were there to help us. They were very helpful and very nice ladies. We were sorry that we missed meeting Candis.
The town of Kailua is Avery short drive away, about 7minutes or so. They have several good stores to purchase your groceries etc. Lanakai Beach and Kailua Beach are both excellent beaches for families with young children. We had an amazing time staying here and would like to thank Candis for the use of her home. It really is a breathtaking view when you walk onto her property."

"My family of six stayed for an amazing, fun-packed, eight days on Oahu to celebrate our 25th anniversary. An agreed upon highlight of the trip was this wonderful home in Lanikai and the friendly, laid back environment of eastern side of the island. We did a ton of research on renting vs hotel, and were pleased that the listing and pictures were very accurate. Brian was very informative, responsive and accommodating during our last-minute decision process. The house is quite large with a generous patio and ample space for my wife and I, my 3 teenagers and my 10 year old who lived in the pool when we were not site seeing. There are 3 full baths (one connected to the master suite), two with showers and one jetted tub--style and decor were a little dated but totally adequate. The bedrooms all had comfortable beds and have ACs which was nice with the humidity and when the trade winds were calm. The updated kitchen is good sized and well stocked and it and the living room have large fans which were adequate for cooling. This home is located on a very quiet street just 2 1/2 blocks from the most beautiful beach I have ever seen and two houses down from the pill box hike (highly recommended-bring you camera). We talked with several people on the beach who said "they live here now"--wouldn't that be great! The location was convenient to the whole island and having a large private pool was a huge win for our trip and well worth a little extra rent as we used it several times a day. We stayed in a top-rated Waikiki hotel the last two days of our trip, and we all longed to be back to the peace and quiet of Lanikai. The home comes with 6 boogie boards, rolling coolers, beach umbrellas, towels and chairs and enough snorkeling equipment for our needs, which were all so very convenient to not have to rent or buy. There is also a book on site with recommended sites and activities, which were helpful.
Only small con:The house next door in view to the ocean from the upstairs deck was unoccupied and run-down, but looked like it might be remodeled soon.
Overall this is was a great choice and the best location, we loved our stay in this great family home and would highly recommend to anyone thinking about a trip to Oahu."

"From the second the 5 of us entered the house, we felt such pleasure at knowing this would be our base for a week. The sunrise views were outstanding and each morning I would walk along the short beach in front of the house to watch the sun rise over the Mok's. The master bedroom is spectacular and has a great double shower. There is ample room to spread out with multiple lounging areas with views of the ocean as well as a nicely landscaped back garden area to enjoy if the sun rise through the ocean-facing side of the house become a bit to glaring. The ocean in front of the house is wonderful for swimming, paddle-boarding, etc. If you google earth the location you can see it is fairly rock free immediately in front of house which is very nice for swimming without the need for surf shoes. One can go left or right for several minutes to get to larger rocks good for some basic snorkeling. The house has several 2-person sea kayaks which are great to use to get over to the Mok's if desired -- the house includes a basic map on the best way to approach the Mok's if you do this which worked well. There was a lot of fun seeing which of us could actually climb on and balance on the paddle board. The water was crystal clear -- it was easy to see the ripples of sand (fine silky white soft) on the ocean floor even when the depth was over our head. The rock steps from the house down to the beach/water are fairly easy to navigate -- I have major knee issues and had been a bit worried about that aspect of this house but the steps are wide and not too big of a drop for any one step which was nice. We did a large grocery run on our first day and were able to supply half of our meals from the house -- the kitchen is well equipped and there is also a propane bar-b-q we used to grill up several entrees. The overall location worked well for our various trips to DiamondHead, Pearl Harbor, North Shore and Waianae. Kailua is a great town -- we enjoyed their Thursday night market featuring lots of local food and found several nice artisan stores for some fun Kailua specifc souvenirs. Every evening we walked 5 minutes up the street to the beautiful Lanikai beach and walked along the shoreline. Many folks involved in the Lanikai canoe club would be here practicing which made for some interesting viewing. The pillbox hike behind the house provided additional excellent views. And of course all the people involved with this house were super friendly and helpful. Mahalo!"

"Thank you Jean and Doug. We enjoyed our 35 day stay at this fine example of Old Hawaii.Only a 10 minute walk from the main beach at Lanikai ( voted #1 beach in Hawaii by Travel TV).Great location, very peaceful and wonderful owners to work with. Thank you again for making your home available. We hope to return to Lanikai in the future and would not hesitate to stay here again. Greg and Joyce"
