  • The Best Hawaiian Vacation Ever!!

"My boyfriend and I have made many trips to Oahu, but none of them have been as amazing as this last trip, when we got to stay at the Long’s at Lanikai. The property is absolutely beautiful, it has breathtaking views from every window of the home, the perfect amount of 1920’s charm, and an amazing host. We had the pleasure of listening to the lovely blue waves crash against the seawall throughout the day, and the option to get straight in the water from the steps in the backyard. We spent most of our time in the backyard and hardly left the house after checking-in. The house has everything you can possibly ask for, from the kitchen to the bathrooms. The house is in a great neighborhood, you are able to walk to the neighboring beaches, hiking trails, and parks. You will need a car to get around, but everything is just a short drive away. Grocery stores and yummy restaurants are a 10min drive away. Rick was everything you could want from a host, he was very responsive and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. He had great recommendations for things to do and made us feel like we were staying with a good friend. We are definitely be planning another trip out to the Long's at Lanikai, very soon!"

  • Bungalow in the Sky

"We had lovely 10-day stay and almost perfect 85F weather. The loft has a wonderful porch looking east -- great place to relax at the end of the day. Lynn, Michelle, Dirk and Junior (the dog) were perfect hosts and made us feel welcome. Great location near beaches and Kailua downtown (especially Whole Foods and Farmers Market). We were able to cook most of our meals -- which made the trip both economical and food-choice healthy. The loft was clean and full of light (lots of windows). Off street parking was available. As the VRBO ad indicates --- you can use the various beach gear (chairs, etc.). Laundry facilities were excellent -- and essential after a day at the beach."

  • Great Vacation

"This place is all about the location. The walk to beautiful Kailua Beach Park is under 5 minutes and it is FANTASTIC!! Carly and Jeff were more than helpful with places to go and things to do and Jeff was a great help in renting Kayaks for a day. Everything you need for a day at the beach is already there!! The place is nice and private and everything is plenty comfortable. We did not use the kitchen much but it was certainly an adequate place to cook a couple of meals. Thank you Carly and Jeff we had such a wonderful time!!"

  • Stay here. Not at a resort.

"Looking for a place to stay your first time in Hawaii can be intimidating. To choose a resort, or not choose a resort. Don't do it. Stay here instead. This was a great place to stay that is clean and located 5 minutes walking from two great natural beaches. The room is cozy and was great to celebrate our anniversary. There is a grocery store nearby to get snacks and drinks. The main positive is that it takes you away from the thousands of tourists and into a community. You can visit the local arts and craft fair, local market, and do things that real locals do. It also made it easy to drive up the coast to the north shore and experience even more of the island (try Giuseppe's Shrimp Truck). I can't say enough about the room and location. Both were outstanding. Our favorite part was sitting on the lanai and watching the sunrise. The view of the ocean is amazing from here. When (not if) we go back, we will try to book here again. It was so nice that we couldn't help but feel let down when we visited Waikiki one night. Only suggestion: rent a convertible so that you can see the island at your own pace. Everything is easy to find if you have a smartphone, and close enough together that we had to fill up once in the entire week. Thank you for a great stay!"
