  • Outstanding Family Vacation

"My Sister's family and My parents were cumming out to visit the islands with my wife and kids. Th Johny Walker house provided the perfect location to relax, enjoy and create lasting memories. The 10 of use enjoyed waking up to the sunrise over Lanikai Beach. The house had everything that was needed: well stocked kitchen and a nice selection of beach essentials (boards chairs and small coolers). The location is perfect for enjoying the island lifestyle. The ability to sit and watch the kids play at the beach and in the ocean is perfect. Would stay again in a heartbeat!"

  • Perfect location & awesome place for a relaxing family getaway!

"We stayed here for only 2 nights and I wished we'd stay longer. As other reviews have echoed - amazing location just steps from one of the most phenomenal beaches in the world; attentive and resourceful hosts (I texted Mary LOTS as we ended up with a major delay due to travel issues and she kindly tolerated my over-communication); clean and comfortable accommodations. You definitely need a car to stay here, but parking is free and it's in a lovely, quiet area. I didn't feel like cooking but could have and there is plenty in Kailua to eat (including a Whole Foods). I appreciated that there were lots of beach items (towels, chairs, umbrellas, toys for my son, flotation devices) available to use. I only wish we'd stayed longer (we were in Waikiki for the rest of the time which was good, but not nearly as dreamy) and that they could accommodate 4 to a room as we're adding a new member to the family next month. I guess we'll just have to rent 2 rooms next time :-)."

  • A luxury home away from home

"We're a family of 4 from Hong Kong and this is the second time we have stayed in this gorgeous luxurious home as we fell in love with it the first time we stayed 3 years ago. The view is absolutely breath-taking and for those who love water sports, the home itself is conveniently located with access to the seas just outside your door. 3 years ago when our kids were a bit younger, their jaws just dropped as we arrived at the property. They are both now teenagers, and because their first trip was so unforgettable, it was at their request that we stay in the same home again this past Christmas. Despite the fact that our expectations have been raised from our first stay, we were all still equally amazed by the beauty of the home the second time round and experienced the same serenity that we enjoyed previously (which is something hard to come by for people from Hong Kong). The owners also took care of our every need - clean sheets and towels were readily available and if you like to cook at home, this house has your dream kitchen. It is truly a luxury home away from home!"

  • England to Oahu

"I choose this property to rent because it was older and had character. I read the reviews and did wonder about the one bathroom but loved the location. Four of us travelled over 7,000 miles and arrived at this house at almost midnight. Lights were subtle and quiet music welcomed us along with a gift of goodies. Nothing could have prepared us for the way the warmth of this home wrapped itself around us and made us welcome. The family and their friends were truly lovely and included us so we gained the experience of Hawaiian life that we could not have had in a hotel. If we had a problem or needed information nothing was too much trouble and all done in a non intrusive way. Just ask. The one bathroom proved no problem for four adults, we just communicated. We could cook, wash, eat, relax, paint, read, walk or just pop over to the ocean or go off sighseeing in our own time and at our own pace and return home to the welcome of this quirky wonderful home. The beds were so comfortable, the house was clean. We had an amazing holiday enhanced by this home and this family. Mahalo. I hope to return one day."
