"Ideally situated, just off the Lanikai loop, this cottage offers a perfect antidote to long, brutally cold midwest winters. We were graciously welcomed by our host and presented a well-appointed and meticulously clean 2-level. Kitchen and sitting area are on the top floor and 2 bedrooms are below. Four guests can be accommodated comfortably. The neighborhood is quiet and the beach is a short walk away. Off street parking could not be any more convenient. Lanikai is no longer much of a secret to travelers these days, but it doesn't much matter, the sand is still the best on the island.
A short commute to Kailua gets you to restaurants, shopping and Whole Foods. Don't miss Lanikai Juice...we were there every morning.
We encountered only one minor irritation (certainly out of the hands of the host)...Verizon cell coverage is spotty in that area, no surprise I suppose when you realize that you are standing between the Koolau mountains and the vast Pacific. It didn't bother me, but I can imagine that a more cell-phone dependent individual might be frustrated."

"Looking for a place to stay your first time in Hawaii can be intimidating. To choose a resort, or not choose a resort. Don't do it. Stay here instead. This was a great place to stay that is clean and located 5 minutes walking from two great natural beaches. The room is cozy and was great to celebrate our anniversary. There is a grocery store nearby to get snacks and drinks. The main positive is that it takes you away from the thousands of tourists and into a community. You can visit the local arts and craft fair, local market, and do things that real locals do. It also made it easy to drive up the coast to the north shore and experience even more of the island (try Giuseppe's Shrimp Truck).
I can't say enough about the room and location. Both were outstanding. Our favorite part was sitting on the lanai and watching the sunrise. The view of the ocean is amazing from here.
When (not if) we go back, we will try to book here again. It was so nice that we couldn't help but feel let down when we visited Waikiki one night.
Only suggestion: rent a convertible so that you can see the island at your own pace. Everything is easy to find if you have a smartphone, and close enough together that we had to fill up once in the entire week.
Thank you for a great stay!"

"We stay in Lynn's Cottage, it had everything we needed, including in the kitchen. We had dinner parties had everything we needed to pull them off.
The Cottage yard comes with Junior, the sweetest dog and Lani, a great cat. Sometimes Cash, a cool 5 year old. Oh yea, there's chairs, table and umbrella too. You can walk the Loop, climb up Pill Box, go to the beach or just hang in the yard. It's all good"

"Thank you Jean and Doug. We enjoyed our 35 day stay at this fine example of Old Hawaii.Only a 10 minute walk from the main beach at Lanikai ( voted #1 beach in Hawaii by Travel TV).Great location, very peaceful and wonderful owners to work with. Thank you again for making your home available. We hope to return to Lanikai in the future and would not hesitate to stay here again. Greg and Joyce"
