"I was a little leery since I had never rented a place off of VRBO, but I took a chance with Bob's rental, and I'm SO GLAD I did! Bob made the reservation process very easy, and he even advised us on a better route to his home than what I originally had. We drove an Expedition and had no issues parking in the driveway. When we arrived (on his birthday!), Bob met us at the house, and he was very friendly and helpful. The house had more than enough space to accommodate our family of 6 (ages 6-41). The view from the deck is absolutely amazing and breathtaking. Based on our pictures and family videos, many of our relatives back home said the ocean-facing side of the house was beautiful and relaxing. My husband would also go running in the mornings around the neighborhood and commented that the neighbors were very friendly. Although we did not use them, there were kayaks, a paddle board, boogie boards, life jackets. There were also beach toys provided that our 6-yr-old enjoyed using. We visited many places on the island - Pearl Harbor, Polynesian Cultural Center, Ala Moana Beach Park, Dole Plantation, Kailua Beach, Byodo-In Temple, Kualoa Ranch, Waimanalo Beach etc, and Bob's rental was a great location to make a quick resting stop during the day or return to for the night. We would definitely come back!"

"This property is absolutely perfect - aside from no a/c - which even as Florida boys who rely on a/c to survive - we managed fine. It's simply magical. From the moment you walk through the front gate, you can feel the mana - it is quite strong.
We arrived late and were welcomed by the sound of the waves and the countless stars. When we awoke in the morning - it was a completely different world. There are gorgeous green mountains towards the front of the property and the stunning blue of the Pacific in the backyard. The inner courtyard was filled with beautiful flowers & trees and was alive with birds and lizards. Everywhere we looked, there was something new to see. The compound is totally private and the perfect place to escape. We didn't leave for the first 3 days.
We spent time in every area of the home - inside & out. The pool in the morning, followed by a dip in the ocean (via the private staircase directly in the backyard), followed by a nap on the huge indoor daybed, then lunch under the shade of the tiki hut, then a leisurely read in the hammock, back the pool, back to the ocean, dinner on the grill, wine on the comfy chaise while watching the stars and the occasional storm roll in.
The home opens completely and redefines indoor/outdoor living. The kitchen was fully stocked. There were plenty of towels and linens. The dining table is a massive work of art. The dual masters were great (both ensuite) and the guesthouse had 2 bedrooms with jack & jill bath. Ample parking in the driveway.
LaRay was great about arranging everything for our arrival. Candis was prompt at handling the initial booking and their Mom was the sweetest woman who stopped by as we were leaving to say goodbye. Fortunately she made it in time to enjoy a bloody mary with us before we actually left.
I really can't say enough about this home & its' hosts & am afraid to - as I'd like it to still be available to book again soon!
We loved our stay so much that we cancelled our trip to The Big Island and stayed an extra 4 nights.
The location is perfect - just at the end of the Lanikai Loop - and the gorgeous Lanikai Beach. It's a must more relaxed vibe on the Windward side - not the craziness of Waikiki (aka Town). Not even 5 minutes to Kailua Town (WholeFoods, R. Field Wine, Long's, The Food Company, Target). 10 minutes to Kaneohe. 20 minutes to airport/Waikiki. 30/40 minutes to Polynesian Cultural Center/North Shore.

"This is our second time renting from Jenny and Len. We absolutely love the apartment because it felt like we were locals living in Kailua and Lanikai. Jenny and Len are easy to work with and made us feel so comfortable.
On this trip, my wife and I brought our teenage son and we all fit comfortably. The apartment had everything we needed: towels, linens, cookware, plates, utensils, bbq, etc. The washer and dryer was very convenient and allowed us to pack light. We cooked breakfast and dinner in the apartment and always ate on the lanai, which was a very comfortable space. We loved the fresh mangoes from their tree too! We were able to use the beach chairs, coolers, and other beach items every day we went to the beach or on our other adventures. It's nice to have access to these items and not have to rent or buy.
Jenny and Len are around, but never intrude in your privacy. When we saw them, we had several nice conversations with them and enjoyed hearing their stories. Whenever we return to Oahu, we'll always try to stay here. It's a fantastic rental!"

"If you want resort living and to be surrounded by shopping and hordes of tourists, this place is NOT for you. If you would like a place where you can stare out at the beauty of nature for hours on end while sipping your coffee in the morning, then I would definitely recommend this place! With the beach right in front of you, it is hard to want to leave the house. The view is incredible form both bedrooms and the spacious living room. There are four outside areas to hang out in (a side yard off the kitchen, the back yard, the lanai, and this cool little covered indoor/outdoor patio area. There is a beach three doors down in each direction if you get tired of your own personal beach. Turtles swim by! The snorkeling is also not bad. With 4 adults and a 5 month old, just the washer and dryer alone made this house worth it. The house is nice but not so nice that it does not feel like home. We did not want to leave!"
