  • Absolutely Perfect Studio!

"We found everything to be as stated in the ad. We also were on a trip to visit family but wanted and needed a peaceful place to relax after being with family all day. The studio had everything we needed. We wish we had been on vacation, they had so many great books! The bed was amazing, the bathroom perfect. Tastefully decorated and very nice vibe inside. We did not cook there but it seemed to have everything we would have needed. We did escape to the beach and they had chairs, towels to make it so easy. My husband was so happy that they had direct tv he was able to catch up on all his sports. We would definitely stay here again. We did not get to meet Lisa but she was very good about communicating, and she checked in with us via email (which was perfect as we were in and out all day) and hope to meet her on our next stay."

  • Great value for this unbeatable location!

"We just returned from a 4-night stay at the Bamboo Cottage and absolutely loved it! Such a clean, bright and airy space that was furnished very tastefully, too. Felt great to wake up to the sun and the birds every morning at sunrise. The cottage adjoins the main house, but there is still privacy via a fence and separate entrance. Kitchenette was exactly what we needed for breakfast and lunch (full size fridge was able to fit our Whole Foods shopping trip...yes there is a Whole Foods in Kailua). Shower was awesome. Note that there is no A/C in the cottage, but the two overhead fans cool the place off well, and frankly, I find the open air of windows (there are plenty of open windows with screens about 10 ft up) and fans to be more sleepable and relaxing. Kailua Beach access was about a 7 minute walk away at one of the few public access points in town - SO convenient! It felt good NOT to be in the hustle and bustle of give you an idea Kailua beach is one of the calmest and cleanest beaches we found on Oahu. Enough waves if you want to surf or boogie board on small stuff in the afternoon....plenty of open and clean sand to lay out and enjoy. Host provided beach chairs, bamboo mats and a cooler to make your beach outings even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend!"

  • A Sailor's Haven for the Pacific Cup

"The photos are very accurate! This place is clean, cute and just right for someone who wants to be close to everything. We spent a lot of time at the Kaneohe Yacht Club, which is about a 5 minute drive. Did A LOT of cooking in the well equipped kitchen and the local supermarket is about a block away. The owner checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed, even the neighbor helped out with freezing and food storage! The true Aloha Spirit is alive and well at the Ko'olau Haven. This little apartment has everything you could need. There is parking in the car port and once inside you'll be impressed by not only the cleanliness but also the newness. Everything is new and works well. We used the kitchen, even the bar-b-que in the cute backyard. We enjoyed our morning coffee in the yard listening to birds and watching the little geckos. We will definitely be back!"

  • Wonderful home away from home

"My boyfriend and I recently stayed for a week at the Surf Hale and it was absolutely perfect! The place is very private and very relaxed. Kitchen had all the tools you would need and plenty of extras throughout the place like books, dvds, extra linens/towels, hair dryer, bbq stuff, beach equipment, and on. Past guest leave behind personal tips and 'must do' lists, so you have a connection on the local activities. Comfy bed and cute living area. Carly and Jeff were very warm and welcoming, and respectful of privacy. Their whole "family" was wonderful and adorable. Five minute walk to breathtakingly beautiful beaches of all varieties (family friendly calm waters and snorkeling to more athletic waves). For a relaxed vacation away from the overly touristy areas, definitely stay here! You can shop local boutiques in Kailua shopping center, or take the Pillbox hike to watch the sunrise over the beach. Everything you need is within walking/biking distance. Not to mention all the locals are kind and fun to interact with. I can't say enough good things about the Surf Hale and area itself. We'll definitely be returning in the future."
