"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lanikai House on Ohau! This is a great location, close to great beaches and away from the crowds. In fact there is great beach 200 yards from the house, just across the park. This house has lots of sleeping space and plenty of bathrooms, we had 7 people and were not cramped. The yard was steep, but we grilled and enjoyed the great outdoors every night we were there. We were there in July 2015 and it was hot! Be aware that this house is not air conditioned and it was quite warm there during the day and until about 8PM. The owner and the caretaker were very helpful and gave us some good sightseeing hints. We would definitely stay here again!!!!!"

"We stayed for 10 days at Hale O Ka Lani in Kailua and it was perfect for our family of four. Two double bedrooms (both ensuite) and a small single room. The beds were comfy. Most of the house is air conditioned which was great for sleeping at night. The pool was lovely just as it appears in the photos. The location within a few minutes of the beach is just wonderful. We wished we had had more time to enjoy this. Kailua itself is a great little town with every amenity and even though we were off to a plush 5 star resort on another island, none of us wanted to leave. We all look back on our stay and say it was the favourite part of our six week holiday."

"Todd the owner of this cottage met us on arrival but left us to it after that, he is no Mr Faulty which is great. He is a really lovey chap to deal with. There were chocolates and coffee to welcome us. Plenty of fresh towels and cakes of soap are provided. There is also a washing machine and dryer which keeps towels fresh. The cottage is situated in a near perfect distance from the beach and main town, we walked it every day. The bus service is also amazing, we travelled it to pearl Harbour and the markets at the stadium. Whole Foods is the closet supermarket supermarket with happy hour everyday day from 3 - 7! Great to walk up after a day at the beach for a beer and something to cook on the bar b que. The cottage has some essentials for cooking which I imagine are donated by guests as they leave (I did throw out some past expiry tea bags). Air conditioning would be a bonus during very hot humid conditions like we experienced, but it's manageable once you get used to just having fans. Don't expect new and shiny, but that is why the atmosphere here is so good. The bed is the most comfortable king bed you could wish for. A few barking dogs in the neighbourhood but otherwise lovely peaceful sleep."
