"Vacationed with the whole extended family. Location was perfect. House was in great condition. All involved were very accommodating and professional. Owner provided boat ride was a highlight for all ages! Would definitely stay again."

"We have spent the last 4 winters at Kalama Cottage and hope to continue to stay there in the future. it is a beautiful getaway. It is quiet and cozy with a lovely garden and lanai to enjoy even on rainy days. It has become our "home away from home." Our host, Susan, is always ready to help with anything we might need, from supplies for the cottage to a great place to sightsee or eat. It is close to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and a short walk into Kailua Town. Thank you Susan for treating us like part of your family!"

"This is an incredible location right on the beach, with views of turquoise ocean waters and endless sound of the waves from inside the house. The beach couldn’t be closer, just beyond the private grassy backyard. It’s a great beach for walking, catching the sunrise and swimming. The ocean is mild here and comfortable. So relaxing!
The house is spacious, well appointed and easy to live in. The owner, Steve, provides all the comforts of home including a fully outfitted kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, ample beach towels, soaps and sunscreen, beach chairs, boogie boards, daily newspaper, wi-fi, etc.
The town of Kailua is only 5 minutes away and provides many reasonably priced restaurants and shopping opportunities. Our family also enjoyed the local yoga studios, kayaking and water sports instruction based at Kailua Beach Park. Highly recommended!"

"In the 1930's, Honolulu businessmen would purchase cottages for their families on the windward coast where trade winds and showers create a cool, verdant paradise. You may rent this very cottage. It has everything you need--internet, appliances, TV--but remains vintage 1930. Happily, the price has not been updated either. You may stay for a month instead of a week. The location is ideal, near the small town of Kailua with great restaurants and a beach recognized as one of the finest in the world. In thirty minutes you can be shopping in Honolulu or exploring remote beaches.
We love the mornings and evenings, dining on the lanai, looking across a vast expanse of lawn where your neighbors stroll beneath the coconut palms, where plovers and cardinals hunt for seeds in the grass. This is a home, not a rental. Neither is it a resort experience. It is a beautiful place lost in time where the residents seem to have walked away decades ago, their ukuleles and photos still on the walls. My family has returned five times."
