  • Doesn't get much better!!!

"Thank you once again,Jean and Doug, for letting us rest and enjoy your piece of paradise. Everything, was as last year...maybe better. Sure felt like home to us. We will be back, for sure! If you are looking for a place to stay in Lanikai, this is it. As I say that, I wonder if I should be telling everyone about how great it is. The site suggests a car rental, but for the second year, we did without one. If you are able to walk, or bike, forget the car. The Bus comes right across the road, and hop on, and you are in Kailua in minutes....or go onward to Honolulu...in less than an hour. Buzz's restaurant is at Kailua Beach, and if you take the 7:20 pm bus (last bus), in for dinner, you will have to walk home. No bus service in Lanikai after that. A wonderful walk, 25 min., in the warm evening breeze. How great is that! Don't worry about not being able to see where you are going, as the street lights, lite your way home .....to Old Hawaii."

  • Paradise on Oahu

"Our family of four stayed at the beach house for five nights. Upon arrival, we ran the few steps to the most beautiful beach we had ever seen! The teal water was warm and the waves were perfect for our kids 13 and 11. We took out the paddle boards everyday and it was such a treat to have all the water toys at your finger tips. Laura is the best host! We felt like we were staying with family from the moment we met her! The house itself is very cute and well appointed! plenty of room for our family and guests. Two full bathrooms came in handy too after a day at the beach, but the outside shower was a delight. We ate outside on the spacious lanai and enjoyed the mountain views and all the lush landscape. It is a residential neighborhood and we always felt safe and at home. You are very close to Waikiki, Sea Life Park and Hanauma Bay. We chose to drive to the North shore for our snorkel trip and it was well worth the drive. We ended up at Shark's Cove and saw amazing sea life, then hit the yellow shrimp truck that I had seen on Food Network for lunch on the way home. We always ended the day with a long swim at "our" beach. Ono shrimp and Keneke's is within walking distance and delicious. Everyone needs a shaved ice break while in Hawaii. Make sure you drive to Kailua for Dave's ice cream, we went daily and sure miss it now! Cinnamon's for breakfast was great as well... I'm still dreaming about their guava chiffon pancakes! This was a vacation my family will never forget! We cannot wait to return to this paradise! ~ Aloha ~"

  • What a great place!!!!!

"We had a wonderful week here - steps to the beach and all the amenities we had hoped for. We were far enough removed from town - it's very quiet here with little to no traffic - but close enough for our daily shopping trips. The beach was amazing for swimming, walking or just people watching. Diana and Russell accommodated our every need - all we had to do was ask. Thank goodness for the top-of-the-line washer and dryer which is very necessary in a weeklong stay at the beach! Beds were comfortable (I even lifted up the linens to see what brand it was so I could get one like it!) and the fans kept us cool all night. The kitchen, while on the small side, was plenty big enough for preparing our meals, especially with all fresh fruit and veggies available on the island. Diana told us about the Farmer's Market and we had the best fresh-grown produce I've ever eaten. OK, if you haven't guessed by now, I'd go back in a heartbeat. We had a truly magical time and we plan on visiting for our vacation next summer."

  • Perfect for our trip - 13 guests

"The house was great - it fit our large party very nicely. The pool was beautiful too. Plenty of seating, bedrooms, etc. Plenty of parking. Kailua Beach was 3 blocks away and one of the nicest beaches we have ever visited, so of course we went there every day. Becky was very attentive and took care of a few small issues for us very quickly. I would absolutely recommend this property for anyone in need of a vacation house."
