  • Perfect Beach Getaway!

"We rented this house for a family reunion, and it was one of the best vacations we have ever had. This house is right on the beach, which was ideal for us because we had 5 young children. No need to pack up a car every day to go to the beach! The older kids loved boogie boarding, and the younger kids went in the water (with adults) and spent hours playing on the sand. We would walk along the beach every day to get shaved ice from Island Snow, and go running on the beach in the morning. This side of the island gets constant tradewinds, so it keeps the house relatively cool. The house itself is basic and functional but tidy and well-kept. We were sad to leave but are looking forward to booking this house again for our next trip to Hawaii!"

  • Paradise found

"Perfect Vacation!!! My family and I had the greatest time, from the second you set foot on this property you can feel that this location is truly a magical place - Paradise found. Laycie made sure everything was in order for our arrival. The Cottage was very clean, cozy and we had everything we needed for a perfect relaxing stay. Our favorite things were as follows: Waking up in the morning enjoying coffee and breakfast on the porch, walking on the pier, sitting on the bench, swing and or hammock with the most beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and Rabbit Island. Another favorite was going to the beach which is truly virtually a private beach. You do not see very many people and if you do they are very friendly and share the same feeling of happiness of enjoying an uncrowded beach. You feel like you are on your own private Island. You do not get this in Waikiki or at a Resort. This property is Ocean front which means it is just you and the calm relaxing sound and beauty of the Pacific Ocean just steps from your porch. This property is centrally located not far from Kaliua, Waimanalo and Hawaii Kai with a long list of dining options or with a full kitchen and barbecue pit you can eat your meals on property. We were fortunate enough to go sailing with Mike and Jeanie which was certainly one of the highlites of our trip. Mike and Jeanie are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and along with Laycie made our trip both memorable and fun. My two kids loved playing in the yard, on the pier, laying in the hammock, the beach, Sea life Park. We certainly used the cottage as a home base to explore the Island which is beautiful (Lanikai, Bellows Beach, North Shore, Makapuu), but we would find ourselves back at the cottage just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views. We also did not have to travel far to go boogie boarding and surfing. We truly had the time of our life!!! Mike, Jeanie and Laycie thank you for making us feel like Ohana and we definately plan on see you again soon. Aloha, Cole and Family"

  • Our wonderful stay at Ginger Hale

"The suite was beautiful with lots of space, it was easy to find at night, awesome to have our own private gated driveway, and so close to the beach! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed being away from the busy city, and on a much less crowded beach. After a long and late flight, we were welcomed with a delicious fresh pineapple and everything we needed to make coffee in the morning, it was greatly appreciated. We would certainly stay there again then next time we come to Oahu."

  • Our perfect holiday

"Every morning we watched the sun rise over the Mokulua islands off Lanikai - an incomparably beautiful sight. There's nowhere in the world I'd rather be than here at Lanikai, and this is the perfect house for it. If you're looking for granite countertops and the latest Bose speakers, this is not the place for you. But if you want a wonderful 1920s, completely kitted out old-style beach house, don't hesitate for a minute. We loved every minute here. There's no beach in front and getting to the water involves either walking a house away and down the access path or clambering over rocks, but because there's no beach in front of the house, there's almost total privacy and you can get your paddle board into the water and set off for the islands or start snorkelling among schools of fish (and even a sea turtle and seal or two). The garden in the front of the house is beautifully kept and has a view of the mountains, which you also see from the dining room table (from the dining and living rooms you actually see both the sea and the mountains). Great for barbecues and outdoor dining. And lovely little old- fashioned bedrooms with built-in cupboards, each bedroom with a view of the sea. What more could you want? If we could, we'd return every year."
