"The house and property are beautiful and so close to the beach. The room has limited floor space for suitcases and the closet has a tiny opening but everything else is very efficient, including drawers beneath the bed. We stayed here prior to a business meeting in Honolulu and I am so glad we chose to visit Waimanalo first."

  • Loved the location

"The rental really is a 60-90 second walk from the beach. The beach is never crowded with small enough waves a 3 yr old can enjoy the water. It was great for our family. We didn't want the hustle of being in a city and this was a nice local place with fun little local restaurants to discover. Several are a short walk from the house - I drove so I could enjoy the car AC :) The only downside is no Air Conditioning. This is not uncommon on islands and you do have a decent breeze from the trade winds. There are plenty of fans so you can cool down at night when it is time to sleep."

  • Stupendous!!

"What a fabulous place! We love snorkeling and diving and the marine life right outside the house was nothing short of amazing. We were only disappointed in ourselves that we did not take advantage of all the water exploring we could have done at night until our last evening there! The octopi and eel were a sight to see and I am sure we missed much! Our boys were extremely content eating in every night and not having to suffer through the boredom of restaurants. We never wanted to leave this beautifully enchanted place! We are so looking forward to returning soon and are grateful for what this little slice of heaven gave us while we were there."

  • Beautiful beachfront property

"Hawaiian Sunrise is located on what may be the most beautiful white sandy beach anywhere. It's a perfect location from which to walk or run along the sand to the south, where you can swim in the tidal pool outside the house where Magnum, P.I. was filmed, or even better, to the north along a stretch of state park on the way to Bellows AFB that has a beautiful ironwood forest and few people other than locals who come out on weekends. The week we stayed with two families including 4 children between the ages of 11 and 15, the beach was great for boogie boarding every day, and calm enough for paddleboarding a couple of days. The kitchen is open and well-stocked, with a large dining table that fit our families easily when we ate indoors, and made it easy to gather while cooking. The outdoor patio also has a couple of tables if you want to dine next to the charcoal grill pits. The cottage is an adorable, private space for a couple to stay apart from the main house, and the outdoor shower with hot water was a welcome surprise. The owner was very hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy a wonderful week. We can't wait to return!"
