  • great rental in a quiet location

"We were visiting friends who had moved to Kailua and this was a great base for us. There were 4 of us - 2 parents and 2 kids. We used the beach chairs for an evening dinner on the beach. I will note that if you must have air conditioning this place is not for you. We were comfortable but there is no AC and in mid summer it can get warm, even with the windows open. Again, we were fine with it as we come from a warm climate, but I know some people might not tolerate it well. There are fans, both ceiling and floor. The owners were friendly and accessible, living next door. My friends who now live in Kailua actually plan to rent this property when they have family come to visit in the future. The location is great, very short walk to the beach and walkable to restaurants as well. It definitely feels like you are living in a small town. If you are a runner you can run from this property to the "Lanikai Loop" for a beautiful sunrise over the ocean and the Mokes."

  • Mahalo!

"Thankyou for letting us stay at your house, it was the perfect size for our extended family stay and the perfect location for exploring the whole island. The house is clean & tidy, and the neighborhood is nice & quiet. We would be happy to recommend this house to others and we would love to come back to Hawaii again. I dropped one star off for the small problem with the upstairs air conditioner, but to be fair we only figured it out at the end of our stay, and was too late to be fixed before we left."

  • Very Comfortable open air house.

"We stayed in this house for two weeks. Walked out the back door to the beach for morning sunrise, stretching, coffee, boogie boarding. Rinsed off and jumped in the pool. Then ate some breakfast and drove off to other activities around the island. Back for dinner and more water fun. I had a different group of family and friends for the two weeks and everybody loved the house. Location is great for beach and town. This is an open air house which fit us great. All of us want to go back and hope to soon."

  • Lucky Lanikai

"Ideally situated, just off the Lanikai loop, this cottage offers a perfect antidote to long, brutally cold midwest winters. We were graciously welcomed by our host and presented a well-appointed and meticulously clean 2-level. Kitchen and sitting area are on the top floor and 2 bedrooms are below. Four guests can be accommodated comfortably. The neighborhood is quiet and the beach is a short walk away. Off street parking could not be any more convenient. Lanikai is no longer much of a secret to travelers these days, but it doesn't much matter, the sand is still the best on the island. A short commute to Kailua gets you to restaurants, shopping and Whole Foods. Don't miss Lanikai Juice...we were there every morning. We encountered only one minor irritation (certainly out of the hands of the host)...Verizon cell coverage is spotty in that area, no surprise I suppose when you realize that you are standing between the Koolau mountains and the vast Pacific. It didn't bother me, but I can imagine that a more cell-phone dependent individual might be frustrated."
