  • Great Place at a great price!

"This place is only 1 mile from Kailua Beach - I rented a bike and went to the beach, the park, shopping and dining - all within 2 miles. Clean, quiet. and roomy. Owner has dogs that are friendly and well-trained & I didn't even see them untilI was leaving. This is my second stay here and I will definitely be back!"

  • Kailuana

"We spent a week with family (6 adults) in this lovely home with easy access to the beautiful beach on wonderful Kailua Bay. The home fit our needs perfectly and the location was terrific. We enjoy the windward side of O'ahu and loved every minute in this home. We highly recommend it."

  • You won't want to leave!

"We had the best time and had a really hard time leaving... It's the kind of place you can settle into - super homey and comfortable with plenty of luxuries to make the stay one of your best vacations yet! Such a treat to get away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and it's only 20 minutes away if you want to visit - we ate dinner in town one night and visited Pearl Harbor another afternoon. The house is perfectly located - steps to the beach, walking distance to nearby markets, restaurants, bike and surf rentals and the ever so famous Hawaiian Snow! We took morning walks on the beach to catch the sunrise (highly recommended), hiked pillbox and a few other nearby trails, ran the Lanikai loop a few times, drove just to drive and enjoy the scenery, we rented stand up paddle boards to check out Flat Island and the Mokes and also rented bikes to cruise around town. Everything is conveniently close with tons of great restaurant options and supermarkets too if you enjoy staying in to cook. Even though the beach/water were steps away, we ended up using the pool fairly often. It was nice to have the privacy in your very own backyard! We had one rainy day during our stay and had no problems filling up our time getting pedicures and massages! Kailua has everything you want and need, plus so much more. The owner is very responsive and was super helpful responding to my questions. He even suggested a few hikes in the area that we shouldn't miss! We can't wait to get back and would definitely book Lihikai again. In fact, we already did! :)"

  • Incredible View, Awesome House, Perfect Location!

"I was fortunate to be able to stay at Honu Hale Lanikai with my Mother and 2 of her good friends for 2 weeks. I'm their designated driver...it's a dirty job but someone's go to do it! A few years back we stayed in Kailua and discovered Lanikai and we have been hooked ever since! Our family owns a cottage on a tiny island in The Bahamas and we know great beaches and Lanikai is among the BEST! So to be able to stay right there with that gorgeous water and the Mokes as our view was absolutely incredible! The house is extremely well appointed and was very clean. It's amazing how many extras there are: beach chairs, boogie boards, noodles, outdoor furniture, plenty of extra towels (including beach towels) and sheets, everything for the kitchen even a salad spinner! We love to cook and a well stocked kitchen is so greatly appreciated. There is no dishwasher (not a worry at all for us!) but there is a washer and dryer. The photos of the house are very accurate and as far as the location description the only 'problem' is that the stairs down to the water seem to have deteriorated since the photo was taken. They are not easy to climb (very rough and slippery) so to gain access to the water you have to walk to the other side of the Paul Mitchell estate or 2 houses down the other way. Definitely NOT a big deal! Speaking of the Paul Mitchell estate, it is gorgeous and according to their website it rents for $7200-9300.00 per night and Honu Hale Lanikai has the exact same view! To access the beach from the house, you can walk (it's about 1/4 mile) or drive there and park. Or you can do what I did a few times and walk or swim in the water, maybe you'll see a turtle! Kailua has 3 supermarkets, a Whole Foods and a Sunday morning Farmers Market, so it's very easy to get great produce. We got lucky a few times buying fresh fish along the way to Haleiwa, look for signs along the Kamehameha Hwy. Getting to Honolulu on the Pali is fast and easy. We went to the Academy of Arts that has a couple of wonderful exhibits, Art Deco in Hawaii and Natural Unnatural Supernatural. Lunch there is very good. Also we had lunch at the Hao Tree at the New Otani in Waikiki and it is awesome! The salmon eggs benedict was incredible. We had an absolutely fabulous time. If you are considering a stay on Oahu, look no further. Honu Hale Lanikai is perfect! Mahalo John for opening up your lovely home to us, we can't wait to come back."
