  • Totally the right side of the Island to be on

"My family had a great time. Loved the homes location. In between to major grocery stores and within walking distance to the beach. The house was very cleaned and well stocked. It was so nice to have the pool there since I have a teen and pre-teen, we got a lot of use out of it. We would/will totally stay there again if we were to go to back."

  • Great vacation rental

"Our group of nine adults was extremely please with our rental of Helen's Beach House. The local was great-just as described. We enjoyed walking on the beach and also walking to the stores in Kailua Town-about 1 mile away. The listing photos were accurate-no unpleasant surprises. The house is spacious, clean and well maintained. Ingrid and Debra were very responsive to our questions and needs. I would recommend this property to family and friends."

  • Christmas Traveler

"Lived in Hawaii for several years & our oldest son is still living in Kailua. Other son and I visited for Christmas. The first impression when we walked in was - "very Hawaiian" and very large! There was plenty of room and the location was great for us. Kailua is a very nice, non-touristy town. Short walk to beach and you can hear the ocean at night. Amanda and her family are excellent hosts - mostly leaving us to our own travels. Two things that are a bit of a negative: There are younger children there and older guests at times, so the "limited noise after 10:00 PM rule" is necessary. So it is not for party seekers. The other thing that was an issue is the limited parking. Someone came to pick us up the first night we were there and pulled in as we came down. Because our car was in our parking spot, our friend had to turn around in someone else's as the owner pulled in. Our first interaction lacked any "aloha" and we were pretty concerned that we didn't make the right lodging choice. After that night, though, we tried not to violate any rules and everything was perfect. The location was great, Amanda & her family were great and we loved the size and amenities of the rental. The pictures on the website do not do it justice, because it is wonderful."

  • Fabulous Family Vacation

"We just returned from a week stay in Waimanalo at this rental, the only thing we regret is that we didn't stay longer! We brought 5 kids who all had a blast in the ocean - ages 18 down to the little 6 year old learning to boogie board! Each night when we returned from the daily adventures, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after dinner. The place was very well equipped in the kitchen and with beach toys, clean, FABULOUS location, roomy - just right for this family! Thanks for the great care you take in your guests!"
