  • Kailua Sunrisers

"Our 3 generation family of 11 loved vacationing at Hiatt Hale. We would highly recommend this property for a family vacation. There was plenty of room, adequate bathroom space, beautiful outdoor spaces, and lovely furnishings throughout. The kids loved swimming in the private pool while parents barbequed family dinners. The beach, a very short walk away, was beautiful featuring amazing sunrises, mild surf, and soft sand. The home was in a perfect location for sightseeing in Oahu. Many places such as Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor were just a short drive away. If we were to plan another vacation to Hawaii we would return to Hiatt Hale! This property is sure to please people of all ages and interests!"

  • Good value

"My family and I stayed here for five days. The accommodations were accurately represented in the VRBO listing. Here are the pros and cons to the cottage in our personal opinion: Pros: - cottage is quaint and very quiet/tranquil - proximity to a gorgeous beach - cottage is well equipped - owners are friendly and helpful and not intrusive on your privacy - access to clothes washer outside Cons - location is not family friendly as there are no green spaces or parks in the vicinity - no air conditioning! We were aware there was none but the heat at night was at times, unbereable. - access to a clothes dryer would have been preferable Would I recommend this cottage? Absolutely, but only to couples or families with older children whom are comfortable sleeping in 27 degree heat at night."

  • Best Vacation EVER

"We came to Oahu for a family wedding along with a long overdue "just us" trip. We could not have picked a better location or host family. The apartment was very clean and the off street parking was definitely a perk. The beach is less than 1/4 mile away and is beautiful without being too crowded. Local grocery store and shops also within walking distance. Everything needed for beach was readily available, boogie boards, towels, chairs etc. Hosts were very friendly and offered great advise on what to see and do while in the area. They are amazing people with a rich history to share. They were very nice, but not overbearing or pushy. Would recommend to anyone for a wonderful vacation."

  • beach-side gem

"Our family had a great time staying here for a week over spring break. John is an ideal host - knowledgeable, approachable, relaxed, friendly, and not at all intrusive. He was easy to work with from the very outset, through the very end. The location itself is modest in size, but immaculate, modern and clean. Two bedrooms (one with double bed, the other 2 twins) were comfortable, not luxurious. Single wall unit a/c was perfectly adequate to cool entire place. With the ceiling fans on we didn't even need the a/c most of the time. Proximity to the beach is the real draw to this location - just steps away. Kailua may be getting some traffic downtown as it continues to grow, but this location remains quiet and private. We would rent here again. If you had a bicycle you could make this work. Otherwise you'd need a car."
