  • Wow! Make the North Shore in this house your destination!

"What a great house! What a great location! It more than deserves the five star ratings it receives from travelers. The house is roomy, welcoming and well equipped, all which makes it feel just like home right away. The wonderful lanai faces the beach and ocean and offers you your choice of sun or shade, to relax and watch the waves or the whales breaching on the horizon or the surfers do their magic. It is very quiet yet very close to lots to do. The house has a very high walk-ability rating - the beach is literally at your doorstep for a swim in sandy bottomed water or a quiet walk, turtles were on the beach a few minutes away as is the park and marina. In a few more minutes you are in Haliewa - a delightful town with lots of shops, restaurants, food trucks galore and local attractions like the weekend church market, chicken BBQ and of course shave ice. Activities too - you can easily walk to rent snorkel equipment (to the left across the small bridge as you reach Haliewa) or kayaks or paddle boards at very moderate rates. Even better, people trying kayaks or paddle boards can try it all on a very calm canal right by the rental shops (turtles abound in the water!). In the car you are less than 20 minutes from famous surfing beaches - Sunset and the Banzai Pipeline - or the Dole Plantation - and not 30 minutes to Turtle Bay for snorkeling even in the surfing season. If you are keen to see Pearl Harbor (which is an amazing and meaningful experience) it is about 40 minutes by car and then just a bit further to Honolulu. The "North Shore" is somewhere to visit and stay, not just spend a day. We were there two weeks and will stay longer next time. This house is the perfect place to stay!"

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was very enjoyable until a loud & inconsiderate family moved in upstairs. Hawaii Beach Homes were so wonderful to allow us to move to a vacant rental until the end of our vacation. Thank you for taking such good care of us!"

  • Great House January 2015

"This house was everything we could have asked for. Thanks to the owners and Bitsy for making this possible. View, beach, neighbors all spectacular. Many local places to eat but was really nice to have a grill to cook at home. No need to travel to other beaches the one in front of the house was perfect. One morning we went to Waimea Valley (waterfall) on the North Shore would recommend that little trip."

  • wonderful retreat, conveniently located, great for families

"Our family of 6 (4 teenagers) loved our recent stay at Luana II and were sorry to leave. The house was spacious, clean and close to all that the north shore has to offer. Samuel gave us some helpful tips which added to our enjoyment. We managed to see some of the Banzai pipeline competition which was awesome! We had a couple of rainy days which didn't stop us from doing anything. Waimea Bay is beautiful but make sure you are surf aware before jumping in - the waves have a lot of power behind them (perhaps this is a winter thing though)! We went horseriding at Gunstock Ranch, swimming with the sharks through North Shore Shark Adventures, snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking, and shopping at Haleiwa and did our own amazing race around the maze at the Dole plantation. We had a few drives and had a great half day at the Polynesian Cultural Centre in Laie - more fun than I thought it was going to be. Make sure you try the food trucks (Souvaly at Haleiwa was stunning) and had a beautiful meal at Jameson's on our last evening. While we were there Samuel brought around new mattress toppers for the beds which made them even more comfortable. He cares about his visitors! I highly recommend this lovely house and can testify that the photos are accurate. We are dreaming of a return visit."
