  • Great house for a family reunion

"Our family stayed at Tutu's House in September as a mini family reunion. This house worked well for all six of us ranging from 21 months old to 63 years old. It was comfortable, a well stocked kitchen and the best views of the North Shore. The house was clean, had plenty of towels, bedding and family entertainment. The only difficulty we ran into is the trade winds weren't blowing and the temperature was in the 90's. The house isn't air conditioned, so was stiffiling. The manager was called and brought fans over that day, which helped a little bit. It turned out to be an unusually hot week and our family was very uncomfortable in the house. Just be aware when you come to Hawaii during the hot months and are intolerant of all day heat, look for a property that has air conditioning. Also the house sits along the busy 2 lane Kamehameha Highway with traffic going by day and night. Two of the three bedrooms face the highway so sleeping is a challenge. Most of the beachfront houses on the North Shore are situated that way. Being so close to the beach makes up for some inconveniences. All in all a nice property in a nice location."

  • Overall excellent experience!

"I highly recommend this home. Everything was excellent, with the note I make at the bottom as a caution to noise-sensitive people. Veronica (owner) was very easy to deal with, quick and easy to reach via phone and email, and responsive to all communications. This is a huge plus for any rental experience, and very important! Overall we loved the house. It is very clean, very nicely furnished, and the kitchen is very well equipped. (We cooked for five adults and two kids most every day.) Also there were a number of nice extras, such as beach towels, some beach gear and beach chairs. The showers were hot, the beds were comfortable, and being in the home was very pleasant. Also the yard around the house was private, quiet, and inviting. A note to noise-sensitive people (like me): About 100 feet behind the house is a state highway that causes some traffic noise, but mostly only during morning and evening rush-hour. Overnight it was quiet, especially overnight, when it's most important to have quiet. I was the only one slightly bothered by this - and no one else in my group was. Also be aware that roosters are common on Hawaii, so you'll hear those early in the morning as well. Though around this house there were MUCH fewer roosters than I've experienced on past trips elsewhere on Hawaii! However we never heard the neighbors or any other noise -- just a tiny bit from that pesky highway. But that did not detract from our overall experience. We would definitely visit here again!"

  • Amazing Vacation

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay here was amazing. Our first trip to Hawaii was really perfect especially since we stayed at the house. Everyone fit perfectly in the house (4 adults, 2 toddlers, and a 5 year old). The beds are very comfortable. The ceiling fans in every room help tremendously when the house gets warm. Just open up all the windows and doors and turn on the fans for great a great breeze. New furniture in the living room really opened up the main area. Every night sleeping with the waves crashing outside is something I'm already missing. The beach is amazing and very swimmable. We saw sea turtles on the beach and in the surf almost everyday. We even saw humpback whales breaching in the distance. The only thing that was problematic (hardly anything to note) was the screen doors. The one in the front and back were in need of some tlc. There are some boogie boards, snorkels, masks, fins, and extra flip flops at the house. Also Jenga, playing cards, and a couple games in the cabinet. Lizards galore outside, if your kids like them as much as mine do. Oh, we found a pack n play in the closet. It wasn't noted below, but there is one there. There are beach towels and bath towels, laundry detergent, dish detergent too, in case you need it. The outdoor shower is awesome after coming off the beach. Haleiwa's main drag is about a 5 minute drive. Market, restaurants, surf/paddleboard rentals/lessons, shops, food trucks. The opposite way, go to Wiamea Bay for great swimming especially if you head far to the right where it is very calm for kids. We loved our stay here. We were pouting big time as we packed up before leaving. You will love it."
