  • Great house for a family reunion

"Our family stayed at Tutu's House in September as a mini family reunion. This house worked well for all six of us ranging from 21 months old to 63 years old. It was comfortable, a well stocked kitchen and the best views of the North Shore. The house was clean, had plenty of towels, bedding and family entertainment. The only difficulty we ran into is the trade winds weren't blowing and the temperature was in the 90's. The house isn't air conditioned, so was stiffiling. The manager was called and brought fans over that day, which helped a little bit. It turned out to be an unusually hot week and our family was very uncomfortable in the house. Just be aware when you come to Hawaii during the hot months and are intolerant of all day heat, look for a property that has air conditioning. Also the house sits along the busy 2 lane Kamehameha Highway with traffic going by day and night. Two of the three bedrooms face the highway so sleeping is a challenge. Most of the beachfront houses on the North Shore are situated that way. Being so close to the beach makes up for some inconveniences. All in all a nice property in a nice location."

  • Family Vacation

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a wonderful family vacation to Oahu. We have never rented a house before and enjoyed the one we did rent. Loved the privacy of the location. Was a little far if you wanted to do excursions that mostly were in Honolulu/Waikiki, but other than that, it was great."

  • wonderful retreat, conveniently located, great for families

"Our family of 6 (4 teenagers) loved our recent stay at Luana II and were sorry to leave. The house was spacious, clean and close to all that the north shore has to offer. Samuel gave us some helpful tips which added to our enjoyment. We managed to see some of the Banzai pipeline competition which was awesome! We had a couple of rainy days which didn't stop us from doing anything. Waimea Bay is beautiful but make sure you are surf aware before jumping in - the waves have a lot of power behind them (perhaps this is a winter thing though)! We went horseriding at Gunstock Ranch, swimming with the sharks through North Shore Shark Adventures, snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking, and shopping at Haleiwa and did our own amazing race around the maze at the Dole plantation. We had a few drives and had a great half day at the Polynesian Cultural Centre in Laie - more fun than I thought it was going to be. Make sure you try the food trucks (Souvaly at Haleiwa was stunning) and had a beautiful meal at Jameson's on our last evening. While we were there Samuel brought around new mattress toppers for the beds which made them even more comfortable. He cares about his visitors! I highly recommend this lovely house and can testify that the photos are accurate. We are dreaming of a return visit."

  • True Hawaiian oceanfront experience

"We had been to Oahu many times but never stayed in Haleiwa, so we were excited to find Haleiwa Surf. It was the perfect spot on the best part of the island! The beach view from the lanai is incredible. We could see whales breaching everyday, and the surfers and paddle boarders catching the waves by the point in front of Ali'i Park. Even though the surf was up a few days, the snorkeling cove right in front of the complex was calm, protected by the reef. We also saw several turtles who didn't seem too bothered by the people swimming around them. The price was great for the location and had everything we needed. The unit is pretty simple but it was very comfortable and clean. The sofa bed in the living was surprisingly comfortable and we slept on it most nights so we could hear the waves! We loved going into town to shop and talk with the locals. We highly recommend Haliewa Joe's just down the street for dinner, but go early if you want the prime rib which is incredible !!! We plan on going back again to Haleiwa Surf next year, and we can't wait."
