  • Great Location

"My wife, grown daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beachfront condo. The location is excellent, the unit is well stocked with cooking utensils, the beds are comfortable and the neighbors are friendly and welcoming. The two bedroom unit allows for more privacy for family members or guests and each bedroom, plus there is an extra bed in the living room for overflow guests. The beach in front of the unit is good for swimming and there is an excellent beach for watching turtles a short walk to the northeast, at the Hale'iwa Ali'i Beach. Also there are plenty of surfers nearby along the 7-mile miracle, including the Waimea Beach, the Bonzai Pipeline and towards the southwest at the beautiful Mokuleia Bay Beach. Plus the condo is within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The biggest positive however is that the owner is very responsive to requests for information and is sincerely interested in making sure renters have a pleasant trouble free visit. We hope to return for a longer period of time next time, two weeks was not long enough this trip. The beds were quite comfortable and the showers, both of them, worked fine. No complaints!"

  • Family rental success!

"We spent 11 days in January at Waialua Honu Hale and were so sad that our vacation had to come to an end. We were a group of 11 (8 adults and 3 kids from 1-3yrs old), and the house was perfect. We cooked most of our meals at home, and treated ourselves to a few dinners at the local food trucks and many restaurants in the area. The location was ideal - just 5 minutes from town, not near a loud road, and right on the water - and we loved the patch of grass right out front for the kids to play on! The lawn had great shade for the babies, and some sun for most of the day, which was great for Mama's tan! There wasn't a bathtub, but that was easily solved with the purchase of a large plastic Rubbermaid bin that the kids bathed in (which we left, so you probably can still use it!). The bin also served as a fun tub for playing with water outside on the lawn, and an easy transporter for beach stuff that helped to keep the vans sand-free. Previous guests had left a cooler, snorkel gear, some basic food items (olive oil, salt & pepper, ketchup etc...) and laundry soap, so we returned the favour and left our extras. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there was a problem with the stove when we were there, but they fixed it immediately - we really appreciated the prompt response - they really cared about us being comfortable! Joey, thanks for giving us the info on local hikes and must-sees on the Island. Also, Joanne, the woman who cleans the house was amazingly friendly and gave us some great tips about local things to do. She also dropped off a vacuum part way through our stay, as we wanted to do a quick clean-up of the sand. It was really appreciated! The house really felt like a home-away-from-home, and we had a fantastic time. This location is perfect for a family or a small group that wants to be out of the craziness of Honolulu/Waikiki. The house is only a 45mins/1hr-ish drive from pretty much anywhere on the Island, including Hanauma Bay, Pearl Harbour, the cultural centre etc... The Bonzai pipeline, Dole plantation, sugar factory, shark cove (excellent snorkeling) shops at Hale Iwa and many many other attractions are within 5-15 minutes from the house. Seriously, we couldn't have picked a better location! Thanks again for an amazing visit to your Island. We were last in Kauai as a family exactly 30 years ago, hopefully it won't be another 30 years before we're back to Hawaii again!"
