  • Can't beat this spot!

"We rented this glorious spot for a family renunion with our two grown daughters and one significant other. When I started to look for a spot, there were a few conditions that were nonnegotiable. First, I wanted a house right on the beach, next, it needed a nice deck area where we could barbeque fresh fish, and lastly, it needed be decorated in a tasteful but not overly fancy style. I must say that this house fit the bill to a tee! The beach area was so beautiful and mostly unoccupied. There were spots to snorkel and swim, and it was within walking distance of the turtle beach and other surfing areas. The kitchen was commodious and well stocked. There is a large deck off the master bedroom on the second floor. This was used for yoga sessions by my younger daughter. The separate bedroom is below the second house and serves as a more private bedroom (a la prehoneymoon cottage…) The Seymours were professional, fair and prompt in all our dealings with them. This place is a winner!"

  • Great spot near surfer town

"We had a lovely (short) at Hale Kaupe. It is a cozy, clean apartment with bed, sofa, tv, kitchenette and a private balcony. The outdoor (hot) shower was fantastic after a day at the beach and was lovely to fall asleep with all the windows open (they have flyscreens so no bugs) after spending time in air-conditioned hotel rooms. Towels, beach towels, kitchen and beach equipment are provided. The washer/dryer would be very handy but as we were only there for a short time we didn't use it. The only downside to the apartment was the foam mattress pad that was on the bed - some people may like this if they like a super soft bed but we found it incredibly hot and uncomfortable. After tossing and turning for an hour we found we could remove it from the bed and then we had a much better sleep. The apartment is located across the road from the beach and a short walk into town. Haleiwa Joe's is a great restaurant down the road for dinner, there is a market in town where you can get supplies and of course any of the food trucks lining the North shore for a lunch time pit stop. The owners live upstairs but you can barely hear them, and you definitely have privacy in the apartment downstairs."

  • Best family vacation EVER!

"My husband and I have been vacationing in Hawaii forever. While our children were little buying into a timeshare was a logical choice. We knew exactly what we were getting and had two relaxing weeks at a resort. Now that our kids are older (10 year old twins) we needed something more interesting to keep them from just "plugging in" to various electronic devices for two weeks. Going to "the country" was our plan and the photos of Coral House looked like the perfect place for us. It exceeded all our expectations! We wanted to give our children the opportunity to just hang out like we did when we were kids. They were able to walk from the house to buy shave ice, go to the toy store, grab smoothies. Go to the farmers market, check out the cemetary, play ball in the field. It took a few days for them to get the idea that "hanging out" didn't mean having to check in every 15 minutes....but they eventually figured it out. They bought nets to catch butterflies and lizards, they harvested fruit in the beautiful garden, they made salt from sea water we brought back from the beach. The house and property were amazing. For lunch, if we were still in town, we could walk for plate lunches, pizza, delis, or the best sushi I've had in forever (Bonzai Sushi.) Most nights we would barbeque fish brought back from local shops or meat from the organic butcher down the street. Days were spent hitting beaches up and down the coast (often just driving until we found a trail head that looked interesting, found a great turtle spot that way.) This trip we didn't book any time on fishing boats or snorkel trips though we normally do. Surfing lessons from Uncle Bryan's were continued this year and they would put in the water just up the coast about five minutes from the house. I enjoyed using plants in the garden for flower arrangements, salads, etc. My husband enjoyed the washer/dryer and Weber grill. The wifi was fast and allowed us both to check in at work as required...and download books and movies for quiet evenings at home. (We didn't completely unplug this year...) We've been back for ten days and we're still holding on to our vacation glow, and I'm not (just) talking about our tans! We're thinking that next year we may rent the bigger house for a month and have other family members join us for part of the time. Mahalo, Veronica for the best vacation these serious vacationers have had in years!!!"

  • Great place to vacation !!!

"Our party of 8 was more than comfortable in this house. 2 Grandmas 2 teenagers 2 kids, my husband and I. The house has no air conditioning but we didn't miss it (and we love our A/C in Houston, TX). Fans in every room and there is a lot of breeze circulating in the house. Kitchen has everything you may need to cook all your meals. We only ate out 2 times during our week stay. Haliewa is only minutes away. Waimea Bay (our favorite beach) is about 10 minutes away. Honolulu is about an hour away but we loved being able to visit the city area and be able to come back to the house and leave all the noise and traffic behind. After a very nice week in Maui the second week of our vacation in Oahu was even better. Had a great time here and enjoyed every corner of this house! Great communication with the owner. Thank you Joey Ann!!!!"
