Great escape from the crowds!
"If you are expecting a 5 star resort...keep looking...if you like a rustic, private beach cottage...then this is the place. The cottage is clean and has every thing you would need. The house does need a little TLC-but one has to realize that being on the windward side of the island can take a toll on houses- the salt air is not kind. The daily breezes through the house are wonderful. It would help if there was a screen on the door to the ocean side...but not a big factor.
We had a hard time leaving...we loved the little yard and went on nightly beach walks. The view is amazing!
This is a great location to go sightseeing- you are not too far from it all but away from the tourist chaos. We visited Pearl Harbor, hiked the Hauula Loop (great views!!), surfed the North Shore, and flew in a powered hang glider (a must do!!!! Use Paradise Air-they are top notch!!!) We had a really hard time leaving this little slice of paradise. Would love to return for longer one day!
Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. It gave us the "bug" to want to move to Hawaii!"

"Our group of 9 adults had a wonderful stay in the beautiful home. The owner was very reachable before and after arrival and certainly desired for us to have a great experience in his home. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.
It is totally updated with hardwood floor through out. The lower level has 2 bedrooms (queen and 2 twins). These two bedrooms share a spacious bath. The main living area for this level is set up as a dining area. The kitchenette has a full size refrigerator, toaster oven, sink and microwave. This second refrigerator makes buying groceries at Costco in Honolulu possible. There is access to the two car garage from this level. The washer/dryer (detergents and fabric softeners supplied) was a great help to keep our luggage costs down.
Up the inside staircase brought you to the main living area. The spacious kitchen had granite counters and was very well stocked with utensils, dinnerware and pot/pans. Next a dining area for 6, one at the kitchen bar with additional seating at a 6 top table on the lanai. The living area has a comfortable sofa and love seat. The lanai is accessed from sliders in the living area. An amazing ocean breeze and ceiling fans in every room provided natural cooling for this home. There are three additional bedrooms (queen, queen, 2 twins) and 2 more baths. The home was clean and well appointed upon our arrival.
As with many homes in the Hawaiian islands, this home has no central air. Electricity here is the costliest in the nation. Two of the bedrooms had a portable AC. When we inquired where we might rent 3 more units, the owner provided 3 more for the other bedrooms. Rightfully so, he did express concern that we just use them for our comfort during the night time hours with our bedroom doors closed. We were certainly willing to comply.
We enjoyed the beach located directly across the street. We collected a large amount of sea glass during our stay. This beach was not occupied by anyone but us during the week and even on the weekends, there were only a few locals who came out to enjoy this beautiful beach. We do recommend sand shoes for this beach. The home has beach chairs and toys for your use.
Each one of us stated at different times that we would gladly rent this home again if we returned to the area. The North Shore area is the place to be on Oahu. Our 10 day stay at this home is one we will never forget. Thank you Brent!"

"I enjoyed the location of where we stayed. It was close to the Polynesian Cultural Center, a grocery store and drug store, a post office, several beaches, the Laie Temple, BYUH... all points of interest to us.
It is located just off the main road, which is nice... though parking at times was tricky due to other rentals having guests and several cars that made it difficult at times to navigate around their cars in and out of our parking spot. I especially would have liked to have had it more clear to us that our rental was an upstairs rental. If it said that it was an upstairs rental, it wasn't obvious to us, and the stairs were a bit much for one of our group to handle repeatedly over the week. (There are 2 landings on the way up.) I probably would have looked for something else originally if I had know it was upstairs. Aside from being upstairs (which also made it a bit hotter inside), we enjoyed where we stayed."
