  • Super Awesome!!!

"Stayed here with family and several friends to have one final staycation before a friend goes off to basic training and to celebrate a couple birthdays. This property is absolutely wonderful! Full-size kitchen, huge bathrooms, and just lots of space to lounge around. The best part is the beach which is just steps from your backyard!! The power went out on us for a period of time due to the weather, but there was still plenty of activities to keep us busy. The fishing and diving was fun and it was like we had our own private beach - what an awesome change from the normal crowded beaches! Looking forward to repeat visits here and I'm already thinking of "excuses" to plan another staycation. Thank you!"

  • Amazing!

"My extended family of 15 stayed in this home for one week. The house was very clean, plenty of space for everyone, and the backyard was a beautiful beach that we nearly had to ourselves. We picked coconuts from the trees out front and made coconut bread from a recipe we received at the Polynesian Culture Center (located 5 miles away from home). We went to a nearby fruitstand and the local there told us how to cook the breadfruit that was also growing on the trees in front of the home. We bought fresh shrimp from a nearby stand and that night we cooked shrimp and breadfruit for dinner. We explored the tidepools literally, steps from the back door and found sea cucumbers, crabs, and tiny fish. A few miles down we saw a pregnant monk seal (named Honeygirl. The locals told us all about her). We saw some dolphins in the distance from our 'private' beach. Across the street from the home is a grocery store and in my opinion the best restaurant on the North Shore (Papa Ole's). All of these experiences were possible because of the beautiful place we stayed at, in such a great location. You can't do these types of things when you're staying in a hotel. Lata was great to work with and very accommodating. We did have a few ants, which was remedied when we were diligent about crumbs. I think this is pretty normal for any home!!"

  • Wonderful Place for our 25th Wedding Anniversary

"We found a GEM for our first time using VRBO. The cottage is right on the beach and we so enjoyed hearing the ocean at night and moonlight walks on the beach. The cottage is well equipped having everything we needed: Plates, cups, cookware, a barbeque area and laundry. It exceed our expectations to say the least. We were looking for a quiet, out of the city place, with a beach view (hotels in Waikiki ran over $350 a night for Ocean view and suites are over $1000 a night). This cottage, right on the beach is in a very quiet area and there is no fighting for a great spot on the beach. The beach is awesome, and unlike the North Shore, waves break far out and the water is calm and picturesque (bring an underwater camera!) We enjoyed going on excursions, found the best sunset at sunset beach 1/2 hour away. Hanauma Bay is 40 minutes (a must). Dole plantation is about an hour (try the pineapple ice cream) and Pearl Harbor is 45 minutes away. Plenty of shopping close by, but the best, by far is the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. Keneke's has great pulled pork and is 3 minutes away. Expect lot's of traffic on the Weekend on the Kam Highway and you will only go about 30 MPH, so just drive with lot's of Aloha. When we got on the island, we stopped by the store and got sandwich meat, bread, condiments, sunscreen (SPF 1 million for us Pacific Northwest residents!), etc. Arriving at the cottage, we found that there was already condiments in the Fridge, but charcoal and started fluid and steaks would be a good bet to buy if you like grilling. Stargazing at night is totally awesome and there are lounge chairs by the beach. When you combine the view, the beach, the coziness and the location, this place is absolutely superb! You are on the 2nd floor and the parking is right by the steps and you have a reserved spot, so that is great! The foliage is spectacular here, with fragrant flowers and trees in abundance. Really, we couldn't have asked for a better place and we had a great Anniversary trip. Thanks for the Hospitality and the Aloha!"
