  • A family Trip

"Review #9389440 “A Family Trip” Pros: The home is a beautiful home, with ornate wood carving throughout the house - inside and out! When you walk thru the door to the home you walk in to a beautiful island courtyard and pool. The landscaping is very tropical and inviting. The beach is just steps off the backyard, it is a beautiful beach and somewhat secluded, you couldn't ask for more of a beach or a pool - both inviting and relaxing!!! The bedrooms were spacious and gave you a wow first impression, the kitchen/family area the same. Cons/what I wished we would have known: The big heavy doors were troublesome - to say the least. They were very difficult to go in and out and some had signs to not use - they were not working at all. For us, that was one of the draws for the house. We wanted to be able to open the doors to the lanai as portrayed in the pictures. We were lucky if we got the doors to open 3 feet. There were notes posted to say if we were to derail the doors off track we would be charged a fee. There were also instructions to alarm the house when you left but the doors were so difficult to maneuver the we were never comfortable enough to use the alarm. When we asked the caretaker about them he said acknowledged that they were not working well and said there wasn't much to be done. Since we had small children, we had planned to cook - the kitchen equipment was fair to average and worn. There were NO kitchen towels and pot holders were old and unwashed, this was a turn off - as were the worn plastic garbage cans that sat out in the kitchen. We were told by a somewhat disinterested caretaker that when we checked in if we needed paper towels, TP, or garbage bags to just ask. Each time he would bring us the bare minimum, which seemed ridiculous to us. When making the reservation we asked for an extra bed to be set up upon arrival and were told this would not be a problem. When I checked with the caretaker he told me to wait and they would set it up in the room of choice. When we asked for this he got a mattress out of the garage and set it on the floor and told us where the extra sheets were the for extra bed - left us to set it up. This is a spectacular home, it would not have taken a lot assure guest feel pampered and want to come back - we left saying we had a GREAT time together but will look around for other options next trip."

  • Paradise Found!

"This second floor studio villa was perfect for my husband and I. The views of the beach and pool are outstanding and we spent a lot of time on the large lanai on the comfy lounge and ate many meals out there...people and wave watching. The unit is roomy enough for two and the bathroom is huge and luxurious. The washer and dryer are first class. We appreciated having the printer for printing our boarding passes, although we hated to leave:) If you want to be near the ocean and pool, you can't get any closer than the Ocean Villas and Vince and Gina will take good care of you."

  • Awesome!

"This rental was perfect for our little getaway. The rental was clean and met all of our needs and more. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was perfect and the washer and dryer worked great. Turtle Bay is such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. We loved staying here and look forward to a return trip and stay at this rental. Thank you Beverly for informing us of the many things to do and see in the area. We enjoyed every minute of life on the North Shore. Mahalo"

  • Perfect family beach vacation

"Our 3-generations family had a vacation that was even above & beyond our expectations. This large villa offered both personal space and room to get together. We dined at several of the resort locations, always just a pleasant stroll away: Kula Grille, Lei Lei's, Ola, and our favorite for a fantastic Big Night Out, Pa'akai. There were plenty of enjoyable onsite activities to keep us busy: daily shoreline path walks in either direction, snorkeling, boogie boarding, and live music. A few notable excursions away were Pearl Harbor with tours of the USS Missouri and USS Arizona Memorial, North Shores Shark Adventures (our brave & adventurous 9 1/2 year old grandson was first into the cage), Uncle Bryan's Surf Lessons, and Waimea Falls & Gardens."
