  • Fantastic Value on Oahu's North Shore!

"Our blended family of 7 had an amazing stay on Oahu's North Shore in the "Blue Hawaiian" unit #149W. The condo is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The Kitchen is the best stocked kitchen of any vacation rental we've ever booked. We had to use the broiler to cook our meat most evenings as neither of us are great with a charcoal BBQ and couldn't keep it lit well enough to actually cook. But that was more than fine. There are 2 boogie boards, several chairs, sand toys and lots of beach towels for days exploring Oahu's beaches. Our favourite was Waimea Bay which is about 12 minutes by car. The beach at Turtle Bay was great too, especially for snorkeling and is about a 7-10 minute walk. I'm sure without kids you could make it in 5-7 minutes. Our favourite day trips were into Haleiwa for shave ice and food trucks. We also ate at Pizza Bobs on our last evening and found it to be excellent value and great service. We loved Waimea Bay and could have spent every day there body surfing if the conditions allowed. We went to the Aloha Stadium swap meet for our souvenir shopping and then an afternoon on Waikiki beach as well as a day at Ko Olina. We much preferred the beaches on the North Shore. The Polynesian Cultural Centre was great too. Bring a Hawaii Entertainment Book with you and get a free admission. Many car rental companies also provide a coupon. We saved about $150 on admission by going this way. We didn't do the luau and didn't feel we missed out as we saw so much else. Turtle Bay has a free Luau show on Sunday nights at 7pm which was fun. We ate at Ola that evening and then headed up to the Point at the pool for the sunset, a drink and the show. With numerous pools on the property it was great for the kids for night swimming. Just be warned, the paths to the pools aren't lot very well and we had a couple of falls off the pathways. This has nothing to do with the unit though. We just brought our iphones after our first experience. :) With the windows open the condo is well ventilated. The trade winds cool it down for the most part. It was quite warm on a couple of our evenings so we used the fans as well. We never needed the air conditioning. The unit was clean and well kept and provided excellent value for the money spent. If you're looking to do Hawaii on a budget but still feel comfortable this is it. Hit Costco on the H2 Highway on your way up and you're good to go! Thanks for a great trip"

  • Great Value

"Living in Hawaii for 40 yrs. We moved to the mainland 5 yrs. ago to be closer to our 4 grandchildren. We recently returned with our son and his family for a get away vacation. We were happy to find this affordable location on the North Shore. All the amenities listed were just as the ad stated. The condo was very clean an tastefully decorated with a warm welcoming feel of the islands. The screened in lanai is a plus. We used the beach chairs and other beach toys the condo offered for free. We liked there was a washer dryer on the property. The pool was a welcoming and relaxing feel anytime of the day. Turtle Bay Hotel is within walking distance to there poolside bar, where you can listen to entertainment, order drinks and pupu's and watch a beautiful sunset. There are many restaurants within 15-20 minutes in either direction of this location, or you had the option of cooking in a well stocked kitchen at the condo. We saw NO bugs within the condo. We will definitely come back."

  • Perfect!!

"We could not have been happier with Punahele Hale!! A perfect home away from home! The kitchen had everything we could have needed--we even baked cookies every night before bed! Loved having the washer and dryer for wet swimsuits and towels--I hate packing wet stuff in my luggage to go home! Loved staying here and we are excited to come visit again!!"

  • A perfect Getaway!

"One of the best trips of my life I have to say.!! This Condo was immaculate and decorated with beautiful Surf Art (beautiful Balsa wood surfboards and classic paintings and pictures from the worlds best). The Condo itself was so cool. It has a beautiful pool 100 steps from the front door with a huge BBQ area and its a short walk to the beach which was perfect for my family. The snorkel beach at Turtle Bay is second to none! We surfed, golfed, hiked the beach, played in the pool, had BBQs and rode horses. The restaurants inside the Turtle Bay are some of the best on the Island too. The staff was friendly and we got to see some of the best surfers in the world there too! I can't wait to go back!"
