  • Fantastic Value on Oahu's North Shore!

"Our blended family of 7 had an amazing stay on Oahu's North Shore in the "Blue Hawaiian" unit #149W. The condo is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The Kitchen is the best stocked kitchen of any vacation rental we've ever booked. We had to use the broiler to cook our meat most evenings as neither of us are great with a charcoal BBQ and couldn't keep it lit well enough to actually cook. But that was more than fine. There are 2 boogie boards, several chairs, sand toys and lots of beach towels for days exploring Oahu's beaches. Our favourite was Waimea Bay which is about 12 minutes by car. The beach at Turtle Bay was great too, especially for snorkeling and is about a 7-10 minute walk. I'm sure without kids you could make it in 5-7 minutes. Our favourite day trips were into Haleiwa for shave ice and food trucks. We also ate at Pizza Bobs on our last evening and found it to be excellent value and great service. We loved Waimea Bay and could have spent every day there body surfing if the conditions allowed. We went to the Aloha Stadium swap meet for our souvenir shopping and then an afternoon on Waikiki beach as well as a day at Ko Olina. We much preferred the beaches on the North Shore. The Polynesian Cultural Centre was great too. Bring a Hawaii Entertainment Book with you and get a free admission. Many car rental companies also provide a coupon. We saved about $150 on admission by going this way. We didn't do the luau and didn't feel we missed out as we saw so much else. Turtle Bay has a free Luau show on Sunday nights at 7pm which was fun. We ate at Ola that evening and then headed up to the Point at the pool for the sunset, a drink and the show. With numerous pools on the property it was great for the kids for night swimming. Just be warned, the paths to the pools aren't lot very well and we had a couple of falls off the pathways. This has nothing to do with the unit though. We just brought our iphones after our first experience. :) With the windows open the condo is well ventilated. The trade winds cool it down for the most part. It was quite warm on a couple of our evenings so we used the fans as well. We never needed the air conditioning. The unit was clean and well kept and provided excellent value for the money spent. If you're looking to do Hawaii on a budget but still feel comfortable this is it. Hit Costco on the H2 Highway on your way up and you're good to go! Thanks for a great trip"

"Very comfortable well appointed. Lucy was right there for a water heater electrical problem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

  • Would love to stay here again!

"It was just as described, only maybe a little better! It was well stocked, clean, well taken care of and very very comfortable. It was my husband, myself and two teenage girls and the layout was perfect. The girls loved the upstairs loft and it was fantastic to have two bathrooms! Beach supplies were great and owner was terrific to deal with. My son lives on the North shore and we will certainly request this unit on future visits!"

  • Kamaaina's Dream!!

"I grew up on Oahu and have been back several times. I've always stayed in Waikiki until this trip. Turtle Bay and the North Shore (Kahuku) location of this condo are very beautiful and quiet (except for the rooster who crowed in the mornings up the road, love it!). The Condo is to die for, and a little home away from home. So much so that I looked at other units in the complex for sale while we were there and we definitely didn't want to "move out" at the end of our vacation. Everything is provided for you, more than you would find in any hotel. With the ceiling fans on and the sliding doors in the living room and bedroom open you get a wonderful cool fresh air breeze throughout. We never turned on the air conditioner once. The sofa in the living room is so comfortable that my wife and I found it hard to get up and go to bed. I would doze off out there almost nightly LOL. My morning ritual was to take a cup of coffee into the "backyard" and visit with the snails and Geckos and birds that inhabit the lush greenery that surround the Lanai and the golf course. We try to visit "home" once a year and will be making this condo our place to stay from now on until the owner no longer has it available!! there are many restaurants and two supermarkets nearby in Laie and Pupukea that provide anything else you could need as well. Thank You for a wonderful, unforgettable vacation!! If you plan to spend a lot of time on the Leeward side of the island (i.e. Waikiki, Pearl Harbor) be prepared for about an hours absolutely delightful drive back and forth to the condo. I have always loved to drive along the coast on Oahu, so this was absolutely perfect for me!!"
