Very quiet property in great location on the North Shore.
"We really enjoyed our stay at Plumeria House. Comfortable for 6 adults and one toddler. Although we were only such a large party for 2 nights. First night we arrived there was no hot water. Luckily we were too tired to be very inconvenienced and, after a few texts to the owner, a maintenance man arrived the next morning and installed a new water heater. Still had a few troubles with there being no hot water but they did fix the issue as soon as they were able so while it was a little irritating to be without hot water after a long day at the beach we realized stuff happens and we have absolutely no complaints with how they handled the mattered. They are fully stocked on gear: chairs, bikes, toys etc. And a quick note for parents. I have a very tall toddler ( not yet 2yrs but over 3"). The pack n' play they offer is big, 3"x 3". So large, I didn't recognize it for what it was and called the 'emergency' number in a panic, big enough for my kid to stretch out diagonally so there was no need to rent a full size crib from an outside company. That was a definite bonus! Would definitely stay here again."

"My wife and I wanted our family of 15, which includes 7 grandchildren ranging from 5 to 15 years old, to participate in a family trip that all would create great memories for the rest of their lives. Let me tell you, our plan was a great success! This beautiful home was amazing and it supplied us with everything we could ever need. There was more than enough space for all of us and we were all able to make it our home for the 9 days we spent there. Just as the other reviewers have mentioned, the home and grounds are absolutely beautiful! We mostly enjoyed how convenient and fun it was to be just a few steps from the bay. The bay is a perfect place for the kids to enjoy just about any water sport they wanted to participate in. It was a comfort to all the adults to be able to watch the kids from the beach or balcony. The kids were always in the water until dark.
Irma is absolutely one of the nicest and most patient persons we have ever met. We have a special needs 5 year old grandson who can eat only certain foods and needed to get access to the refrigerator before the house was ready for us. She went out of the way to greet us early in the day as they were cleaning and allowed us to supply the refrigerator and spend time at the beach while they finished in the home. Near the end of our vacation our 12 year old granddaughter had to have her appendix taken out. She spent the last 3 days on the couch watching t.v.. Irma came over and greeted her with a card and gift. Boy, did that make her day! Thank you for everything Irma.
Marilyn, the owner is absolutely correct when she says, "Kawela Bay is magical". She goes out of her way to keep you informed of the many things to experience in the area. As she mentioned, the Polynesian Cultural Center is a must see and all of us enjoyed it immensely. Kawela Bay truly is "magical" because my wife and I saw the "magic" in our families eyes the entire stay. Everyone was to the point of tears for the soul reason of having to end our wonderful vacation at such a beautiful property. We could not have asked for anything more to make our trip a dream come true.
A very special mahalo from all of us to Marilyn and Irma."

"Most enjoyable vacation we have ever taken. Lots of room, amazing view, close to everything. Loved sitting in the living room watching the ocean role in. Turtles playing in the surf every day and on the beach in the afternoon. Shopping and restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Most beautiful drive I have ever taken back and forth across the island. Pro Surfing just up the beach. Incredible sandy beach just a few feet in front of the Condo. Everything we needed was provided in the condo. Outstanding choice for any traveler."

"After our long plane ride from the east coast and getting caught in Honolulu rush hour traffic, needless to say, we were weary travelers. We opened the door to the Hibiscus house and an immediate sense of relaxation washed over us. We knew right away this was going to be an amazing stay! The description is spot on. Open, airy and clean with stunning views. Almost every morning we were greeted with a rainbow, (even a double rainbow), and every evening we had amazing sunsets with whales breaching too! The kitchen is fully equipped and the appliances are all in excellent working order (except the toaster), we just needed to stock it up with food. Foodland is a 5 minute bike ride away. Every morning we took a beach walk then came back, ate breakfast on the deck then gathered up the provided beach chairs and towels and headed to the beach again. They have outdoor showers with hot water to wash off the beach sand before going back in the house. Like other reviewers said, the living room furniture is a little uncomfortable but we rarely sat on it because we were always on the deck. The beds are comfortable though. There is also a washer and dryer which is a huge plus because I packed fairly light. Bath towels are provided as well.
We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center for a luau and the fire show, "HA, Breath of Life". I'd give that 5 stars too. We also had a tour of Waimea Park which was amazing with exotic trees, flowers and waterfalls. I recommend taking the guided tour because the guides are extremely knowledgeable. In that same park on Thursdays is a Farmer's market which feature locally grown produce, crafts, fresh breads and prepared food. If you like a good workout, look up D.Bach Functional Fitness.
The Hibiscus house was a perfect fit for our group and we are planning on returning. Honolulu/Waikiki is 45 minutes away. Meh, it looks like any bustling beach city. It reminded be of South Beach. It was fun for one night but for the rest of our stay the North Shore of Oahu was the way to go. It is super laid back and peaceful.
Mahalo Hawai'i and Hibiscus house owners!!!"
