  • A perfect Hawaiian Christmas!

"My family couldn't have been happier with our living arrangements while in Oahu. Lani had our "home" cleaned and ready to go - including a Christmas Tree (which mom and dad were a little stressed about providing 3,000 miles from home!)! We had no problems sharing the yard with the owners or their small dogs, and felt private and comfortable our entire stay. The washer and dryer, beach towels, and boogie boards made our numerous trips to the close, uncrowded beach a lot of fun. The rental of both the suite and the studio gave us plenty of room - plus two bathrooms - which was great for a family of 6. As our 14 year old daughter said "This place couldn't have been any more perfect!". We agree 100%! Maholo to the Richard's for a wonderful stay!"

  • Laie Beachfront Paradise

"My fiance's family and I stayed at this property for an entire week to attend a wedding. There was 10 of us and this property was only 5 minutes walking distance away from the wedding venue the rest of our family was staying at which was a big requirement for us. The house large, beautiful, and well furnished. Every morning we would walk out into the backyard and watch the sunrise and walk down the 10 steps to the beach for a swim. Keep in mind that there is no A/C but with many large windows and a giant sliding door the ocean breeze helped make the heat bar barable. Also the local Foodland grocery store does not sell alcohol so you may have to drive about a mile away to 7/11 to find beer/ wine. This was our first time visiting Hawaii and our first time booking a vacation rental. The property manager Bitsy was always so pleasant to my fiance over the phone and via email. She was so personable and made sure we understood the process fully. Any time she was contacted with questions from us she was very prompt in getting back to us with an answer."

  • The ocean views, crashing waves and sea breezes make this place!

"Our 10 days flew by too fast. We were going all the time, but just hanging out on the deck during meals and early mornings and late evenings was one of the coolest things about this house. We cranked open the windows the whole time we were there and had breezes coming through all day long. It only rained a couple of times for a short time and we just had to catch those windows, but it was pretty comfortable for our mid-October stay. And if you had air conditioning, would you really shut the doors and windows and miss out on all those crashing waves and ocean breezes. No way! Each bedroom has a private bathroom and it worked great for our group. Two married children and their spouses and small children, my wife and I and my 87 year old mother who came along to revisit hear roots in Oahu. Everyone had their own space. It's a big house. Plenty of room. The custodians do a good job keeping the house clean. It's blasted by salt air 365 days a year, so alot of window fixtures and the back sliding door lock need some work, but it sounded like they were going to look at the back door at least soon. Either way, it wasn't a problem for us and the neighborhood seems safe. After all the traveling around the island we did, I think our favorite places were walking and snorkeling off the private beach down the stairs a few houses down the street on the south or riding the waves on the north side of the point with access just a block away by the road the heads to the Temple and up the beach to Hukilau Beach Park. Having the Temple and the PCC right across the street was great. Foodland is right across the street. And pick up a tour permit for the hike to Laie Falls in the strip mall by the grocery store. The trail head is up the road just on the North end of town. Gets a little slick and tricky right near the falls, but it's a beautiful hike! VR is very helpful in planning your stay. He was very accomodating and attentive to our questions. Thanks for sharing your house with us."
