  • Doesn't get any better!

"Oh, my. I don't even know where to begin. Roy's place was perfect for our 4 adults and 2 kids (ages 5&7). We ate dinner every night on the covered lanai, spent mornings watching surfers from the stunning margarita deck, and passed hours on the amazing (and nearly vacant) beach right off the backyard. The kids snorkeled independently except for a couple days when there was a current. We saw turtles most days and even a ray...and we all loved taking out the hot pink kayak. If you are looking for a spot off the tourist map with every amenity you could ask for, look no further. This is it."

  • 18a at Mokoleia Beach Colony

"We thought our unit 18a was great. Very comfortable. It has everything for cooking. We were there a month. Just a few units away and you are on the beach. Sunsets were great. This is a great place to stay after fighting g the traffic of Honolulu. The owners take care of any needs immediately. You must rent for a month-not too long. Nice pool, clean laundry room and friendly people. Mahal."

  • Staying here is its own unique experience

"Our family of 10 (siblings, kids, grandpa) chose to stay here for what seems like a trivial reason now: It had its own pool, which hardly any other houses for rent on the North Shore offer, and we wanted one for our littlest kids. The pool was indeed fun to hang out at and offered a nice respite from the beach (waves were unusually rough for summer), but the house has way more special qualities than that. The lush green setting is beautiful, with the ocean below and mountains above for constant scenery gazing. The papaya and starfish fruit trees were used for almost every meal. Our kids loved seeing the horses and cows on the ranch below and the wild pigs that frequently crossed the yard. I took a hike to the Kaena Point just up the road and loved that. Two in our party went skydiving at nearby Dillingham Airfield and raved about the experience, and each noticed how the house stood out in the landscape. We went back and forth to Haleiwa for assorted meals, supplies and shaved ice and never felt like it was a hassle (5-10 minutes). Our favorite beach for swimming was Waimea Bay (15-20 mins away), and we also loved hiking to the waterfall and strolling the gardens at Waimea Valley. Some of us were concerned about the lack of air-conditioning, and indeed the house was like an oven upon arrival. But once we opened up all the windows it was comfortable even in August. Why wouldn't you want the windows all open in such a beautiful natural setting? The beds were all comfortable, and we had everything we needed while there. We hope to return and use the house again in the not too distant future, not just for the things we didn't get around to doing during our stay but also to simply enjoy the house itself again."

  • Ideal Hawaiian getaway

"We have enjoyed this unit for the past few years and love the quiet, peaceful location. I love relaxing at the pool and watching the skydivers come floating back down to earth. We also enjoy watching the sunset from the sea wall. While it's 40 minutes from Honolulu, it's easy to plan a days outing if you want to shop and visit sites on the other side of the island. We enjoy watching the Banzai Pipeline surfing at Sunset Beach and visiting the shrimp and food trucks on the North Shore. The historic town of Haleiwia is just down the road and Waimaie Falls is not much farther. The unit is very comfortable for two and will accommodate more if needed. Everything you need is available, just bring your bathing suit!"
