  • Staying here is its own unique experience

"Our family of 10 (siblings, kids, grandpa) chose to stay here for what seems like a trivial reason now: It had its own pool, which hardly any other houses for rent on the North Shore offer, and we wanted one for our littlest kids. The pool was indeed fun to hang out at and offered a nice respite from the beach (waves were unusually rough for summer), but the house has way more special qualities than that. The lush green setting is beautiful, with the ocean below and mountains above for constant scenery gazing. The papaya and starfish fruit trees were used for almost every meal. Our kids loved seeing the horses and cows on the ranch below and the wild pigs that frequently crossed the yard. I took a hike to the Kaena Point just up the road and loved that. Two in our party went skydiving at nearby Dillingham Airfield and raved about the experience, and each noticed how the house stood out in the landscape. We went back and forth to Haleiwa for assorted meals, supplies and shaved ice and never felt like it was a hassle (5-10 minutes). Our favorite beach for swimming was Waimea Bay (15-20 mins away), and we also loved hiking to the waterfall and strolling the gardens at Waimea Valley. Some of us were concerned about the lack of air-conditioning, and indeed the house was like an oven upon arrival. But once we opened up all the windows it was comfortable even in August. Why wouldn't you want the windows all open in such a beautiful natural setting? The beds were all comfortable, and we had everything we needed while there. We hope to return and use the house again in the not too distant future, not just for the things we didn't get around to doing during our stay but also to simply enjoy the house itself again."

  • Beautiful Home

"My husband and I stayed at the Honu Hale II for 10 days. We have beautiful memories of our stay. The home was very nice, very inviting, it was truly a home away from home. We would not hesitate to stay there again. We would recommend this home to our friends & family. We would also recommend the Swap meet at the Aloha Stadium, don't pay the inflated prices that the ABC shops are asking, prices at the swap meet are so much cheaper, visiting as my beaches as possible, Deep sea Fishing at Maggie Jo's what can I say AWSOME !!! Whale watching, and of course a trip into Honolulu at least for one day. Thank you to Linda the caretaker of the property was such a great help. Mahalo for now !!!"

  • What a House!

"As wonderful as this house is, what really wowed us was the attention and care given to us by Michalene, the property manager! But im getting ahead of myself. We spent two weeks at this tropical paradise after spending time at two other homes...this was by far our favorite. It is so beautifully decorated and was so, so clean. You can tell right away that Michalene and the owner take excellent care of the property. They really care about your overall experience on the island. For example: we arrived to the house after a storm, only to find out the electricity in the area was out! Michalene was so very very worried about us, she spent an hour waiting on the phone with the electric company. We had candles and a flashlight, we were fine. I told her we once survived 3 1/2 days in northern Wisconsin without electricity because of a tornado... a few hours was no big deal! But she was still concerned for us, she continually checked on us. As it turned out the lights came back on before it got really dark! That personal attention is impressive! The pictures on the internet are very will not be dissappointed at all. We are returning next year and have already decided to come back to this "home away from home"."

  • Linda Z.

"My extended family of 10 people stayed here for 4 nights and we all loved it! I wish we could stay longer or come back again, since there are still activities we have not had time to enjoy. Skydive is just across the street from the house, kids still want to snorkel more, my 11 yr old daughter had her 1st surfing class and wanted to practice more, many unique beaches nearby etc. The owner provides plenty of supplies, utensils, beach playing equipment. We have never stayed in a place so close to the ocean, it is literally ON the beach. Thank you Rebecca for sharing this beautiful oceanfront house with us!"
