  • Best Vacation Choice for Our Family!

"Stayed here as a family of five. It was really everything we needed. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Pros: Double kayak, snorkel gear and fins, reef shoes, boogie boards, some broken ish but still fun surf boards, beach umbrella, sand toys, outdoor shower, small charcoal grill, tons of towels... Everything! Beds were comfortable. Pillows are queen sized which is awesome. There are plenty of linens. A/C is the bedrooms works perfectly. Beach is perfect. Soft sand. Water is pretty calm too. Great for kids! Good snorkeling right off the back of the house. Lots of colorful fish and even sea turtles. Good kitchen. Stocked. Happy for the coffee maker with re useable filter. Be aware that there is no dishwasher. Not a big deal to us as we brought our kids and therefore still had dishwashers. Nice new Washer and dryer. A vacuum ( you will be happy to see this as the sand will show up everywhere no matter how hard you try) Cons: really not many. Let's see... I wish the blinds weren't those awful broke down 90s blinds. And the couches were pretty crazy uncomfortable, not that you will be sitting much. And that super cute blue room could maybe use a few light blankets. Oh and we never found the dustpan. Like I said not many cons just teeny things. Yeah the house shows some wear but as people who lived near the ocean for years I can tell you it is harsh on wood! This is just a normal beach house thing. Tips: -Grocery stores-Tamara's (right beside the Longs drugs) just down the road has much better prices than Foodland in Laie. Better still hit Costco on your way out of the airport. Cheapest gifts too. -If you blow a fuse there is a fuse panel in the blue room behind the door behind a picture. -There is a shave ice shack about 7 houses up that, when open, is the best. Run by the sweetest lady who will tell you anything you need to know about the area. We walked the beach to get it. Area: best place on the island! Far from Honolulu which is exactly what we wanted but it still took us less than an hour to get to Pearl Harbor. It quiet and safe and the people that are around are nice. Right off Kamehameha Hwy. The town of Laie (nearby) is pretty much shut down on Sunday due to its Mormon roots. Not a big deal though as we found the better, closer, Tamara's for groceries. Thank you for this awesome place and the memories."

  • Great Romantic Getaway

"The condo was beautiful and the beach was gorgeous. The time in the condo was relaxing and the sound of the waves was soothing. The view from the lanai was great for seeing the sunrise in the morning and cool in the evening. The property was clean and well kept. I would recommend this place if you want to be away from the big hotels in the cities and create your own plans."

  • My heart remains in Hawaii

"To the owners and caretaker of this property. Thank You. Everything was perfect for our two week stay. You all go above and beyond for your visitors. We could have peace and quite when we wanted it, all the site seeing and excitement is near by. We would recommend your property to anyone wishing for a great place to stay. The view off the lanai is beyond beautiful. One of the attractions we enjoyed the most was the Chiefs Luau, so much so we went twice. When we are able to come back you will be the first people we contact. Be well Darlene"

  • Such a great vacation experience!

"My family and I stayed in Barbara's condo for a week and a half. This was our first vacation rental experience. I wish we could have stayed longer! Getting to the condo: The directions on how to get into the condo were so direct and easy. Not a single hitch. Barbara made sure to email me all the info needed. GPS made finding the condo and navigating Oahu so easy. Cons: None The condo: Walking into the condo, we found it to be very fresh and clean, an absolutely great first impression. The condo has been nicely decorated and remodeled well. Another plus? No insects. I expected to see a roach or a few ants (being in the tropics) but aside from a single earwig my husband saw in the bathroom, there were none. (Even though we left food out on the counter) Furniture is comfortable (even the sofabed was firm enough for a restful sleep). Plenty of bath/beach towels and bed linens. The condo had everything we needed and more. The washer and dryer was SO handy especially since we were travelling with kids. The dryer does vent into the unit - just use it while you're out. Coming from a cooler climate, I worried about not having A/C. The trade winds on this upper floor are amazing. I opened the bedroom window and the patio sliding door and the breeze literally flows through the whole place. It keeps the unit pretty cool - but you must have those things open for the breeze to keep flowing. Right after hurricane Iselle came through, we had a couple of days with little breeze so the unit did get warm. The road noise can be loud in the bedroom at night also. Cons: somewhat weak water pressure in the shower, no A/C, road noise Beach: For me and my family, this is the best beach on the island. It is never crowded...ever. I have two young kids who don't know how to swim and they LOVED this beach - even the smallish waves. The water is shallow quite a way out, soft sandy bottom until you hit the rocky part, when you go out at low tide, the water is so gentle and calm and clear, it is like a pool. If you stand still, you can see small fish. Perfect for kids. Snorkeling is good and there are turtles not far out, we saw their heads poking up once in a while. Cons: None You won't beat the price, location, beach view or comfort of this condo. This side of the island is so relaxing - no city craziness. None of the "cons" would detract us from staying again. We had ZERO problems in this condo on our fabulous family vacation, we had such a wonderful time. Thank you!!"

Punaluu Travel Tips

Get Your Slice of Heaven: Punaluu Vacation Rentals

Punaluu vacation rentals are located in a relatively quiet and thinly populated area on the North Shore of Oahu. There is, however, a year round population of green sea turtles on Punaluu beach, which is quite distinct as it is a black sand beach. There are also nearby marshlands that are home to exotic species of birds. Solitude, sea turtles, black sand beaches, and gorgeous birds: this may truly be a slice of heaven.

Punaluu Vacation Rentals Offer the Perfect Private Getaway

For people who lead busy lives and spend many of their days working with many other people and interacting with groups of people, solitude is sometimes the best treat. Punaluu vacation rentals can offer solitude and peace to the weary. In fact, the town only has one small commercial center. Otherwise, the area is quiet with few people but a great deal of wonderful nature to appreciate. Punaluu vacation rentals come in all sizes, for people who just want to get away by themselves as well as people who are traveling in larger groups.

Punaluu Condos: Perfect 'for Medium and Small Travel Groups'

Not everyone needs to stay in one of the big, sprawling North Shore Oahu beach rentals. Punaluu condos are great for groups of two to five people. They are usually perfect for couples and smaller families. Sometimes, couples vacationing together will rent adjacent Punaluu condos instead of splitting North Shore Oahu beach rentals.

For larger groups, there are much bigger North Shore Oahu beach rentals that can comfortably sleep over one dozen people. This larger size is best for big families, large traveling groups, and family reunions. For people who need even more space, it is sometimes possible to rent large adjacent houses that can accommodate numerous branches of the family.
