"My wife and I got married on this property just a week ago, and it was the first time our families would meet. Hale Aloha fit our needs wonderfully for both the wedding event and five nights of revelry and celebration. With 13 adults and 2 kids staying at the house, there was enough room for everybody to have their privacy, while the living room, kitchen and broad upper deck gave us all a place to gather, eat and drink together, without once feeling crammed or in need of more space. The house has a Swiss Family Robinson jungle castle feel to it, with natural light flooding in in the morning from bay windows and sky lights. The gardens are lush with tropical flora, and my niece made sure there was a big bowl of freshly collected plumeria flowers on the breakfast table every morning. We were married on the great lawn, which could have easily accommodated a party 4 times our size. Anybody planning a Hawaiian wedding should give this place real consideration. Beach access is a scant two minute walk, with access to some the island's best beaches just a short drive away. Gregory, the owner, was helpful and supportive throughout our stay, giving us recommendations for sightseeing and dining out. All in all, this place was perfect for us. We're already talking about a five year reunion there!"

"Our Kahuku Class of 1965 held a mini two-day reunion at Mahakea in mid-August 2015, and it was the best venue for folks like us- Mahakea provided the special ambience for just hanging out with old/new friends and close to our old haunts; I had so many queries about the venue, again reaffirming the desire for folks to be in the old style beach house with the freedom to come and go in familiar "country". My close relatives came out on the third day with the same queries and appreciation for the venue --- all wanting to come back again real soon! Mahalo to Dusty for addressing our immediate needs and being within reach! Long live Mahakea!

"We had been to Oahu many times but never stayed in Haleiwa, so we were excited to find Haleiwa Surf. It was the perfect spot on the best part of the island! The beach view from the lanai is incredible. We could see whales breaching everyday, and the surfers and paddle boarders catching the waves by the point in front of Ali'i Park. Even though the surf was up a few days, the snorkeling cove right in front of the complex was calm, protected by the reef. We also saw several turtles who didn't seem too bothered by the people swimming around them.
The price was great for the location and had everything we needed. The unit is pretty simple but it was very comfortable and clean. The sofa bed in the living was surprisingly comfortable and we slept on it most nights so we could hear the waves!
We loved going into town to shop and talk with the locals. We highly recommend Haliewa Joe's just down the street for dinner, but go early if you want the prime rib which is incredible !!!
We plan on going back again to Haleiwa Surf next year, and we can't wait."

"We just returned from our visit to the North Shore and could not have been happier with our choice. The house was in the most perfect location. There were hardly any people on the beach in front of the house and you literally just step five steps out the back door and are on the sand. Sitting on the beach in the morning with coffee was the best part of the day. And the house itself was great too! It was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We did not need to bring anything, as all the comforts of home were provided. And the added bonus was conversation with legendary surfer Ken Bradshaw, who manages the property. It was just more than we could have hoped for and we will go back again for sure!!!"
