Feels like home at Sunset Beach!
"I came to drop my daughter off to BYU Hawaii and absolutely loved this little place! It's more spacious than typical studio apartments, very clean and I was very comfortable! The kitchen is equipped with anything you might need to make a simple breakfast, lunch or dinner. My daughter stayed a couple of nights with me as well and we both fell in love with their family dog, "Pua," who even accompanied us to the beach one morning. The beach is very close so I got to enjoy a morning and evening walk each day. The sunset is breathtaking! The apartment had some great books with awesome information about things to do and see on the island. We loved driving up and down the Kam highway, checking out beach after beach. Must see/do's: The sea turtles at Turtle Beach, the sunset at Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay, Ted's Bakery, the Thai food at Elephant Truck, roadside grilled corn, shave ice, the Banyan trees near Turtle Bay, Kahuku Grill, the PCC, zip line tour at Climb Works at Keana Farm, hiking Wailele Falls...and the list goes on and on. Cathy is a great lady with a great family and I enjoyed chatting with them during our comings and goings; friendly neighbors, as well. I will definitely book again if I am lucky enough to return to Hawaii. This little area feels very special and I feel really lucky to have found it. Thank you Shanley family! Hope we meet again!"

"The house was amazing, just like the pictures. Lots of room and the beds were very comfortable. The location was the best - Sharks Cove is 30 second walk for unbelievable snorkeling and scuba diving. The beach just down the street (walking distance) was also great - and a big rock was a hit for our youngest son to cliff jump off of. The house is decorated well and has a very "home-like" setting. The only reason I gave it 4 stars verses 5 stars is the house has no air conditioning, thus was very uncomfortable during the daytime and when we were cooking our meals. It was quiet - so a great house to "get away" and relax, but close enough to many activities and to drive back into the city. The house also has all the extras - beach towels, chairs, grill, snorkel gear, and umbrellas. The boys loved the "outdoor cold shower" - was very refreshing for the "hot days"."

"Without doubt our best family holiday ever!
Palapa house was amazing, the location simply stunning, & we found the house caretaker 'Chuck' to be the most wonderful attentive host and an absolute pleasure to meet & get to know during our 2 week stay this year. Thanks again Chuck ... take care mate!
The Hawaii ALOHA spirit is strong at Palapa house.
We hope to stay again some day soon.

"We had a great time at this spot on the North Shore. We shared the house with friends and our adult daughter and her friend - 6 adults and we had plenty of room! Great spot with wonderful snorkeling at Sharks Cove to the left and a white sand beach at Ke Iki to the right, just take your pick! Enjoyed sunsets from the rooftop lanai and grilling out back for dinners alfresco! Wifi was fast and reliable. There are many fans throughout the house, but it was hot when we were there and it got a little stuffy. Maybe I'm a wimp, but I would have liked AC."
