  • Perfect!

"My partner and I stayed at this amazing humble abode. The jungle was our back yard and it was quiet and secluded given the North Shore location. The cooking, bathing and master bedroom were wonderful. We heard the sound of children upstairs occasionally, but for me that was like music. I highly recommend this gem as a romantic hide-away. The owners were kind and available but totally respected our desire for privacy. Mahalo!"

  • Loving the North Shore

"Our adult family group of 7 stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view from the lanai was incredible and the sunsets were more amazing each night. Booking this accommodation was relatively easy from Australia and reassuring when it was through a real estate agency. The house had everything you could possibly need. It was clean on arrival and we utilised the washing facilities. There was so much to see and do in the North Shore area. The Foodland was also very handy. The only down side was the sofa beds that need upgrading as we had to place the mattress on the floor. We were also able to see North Shore photographer Clark Little at work straight out the front when the first winter swell rolled in- amazing as we were already fans and familiar with his work and yes, we did get selfies with him! Overall a great stay at a great location at a great time of year!"

  • Beyond Perfect!

"Loved, loved, loved this place! Going to sleep and waking up to the sounds of the ocean are amazing. Loved the chill relaxed feeling of the North Shore and yet I could drive down to Honolulu or go to the eastern side and do some of the best and beautiful hiking I've ever done. Very much enjoyed checking out Haleiwa I just I would have thought to do that earlier. The studio felt like I was in a cozy little cottage but it has plenty of room at the same time. Being that close to some of the best beaches and surf in the world was a dream come true! Highly recommend to anyone!"

  • Slice of paradise!

"My husband and I stayed in Kay's studio for 10 days. The backyard area with views of the ocean turned out to be our favorite location, absolutely beautiful. We watched the sunset on the ocean and whales breach daily from the little deck in the backyard. There is easy access to the beach. It feels fairly secluded with some people enjoying the beach, but it never became crowded while we were there. A short walk away are more popular beaches with people surfing and snorkeling. We stayed in the winter making the waves more intense then they are in the summer months, so it is recommended people swim with caution or have some experience. Also within walking distance using the bike path is a Foodland grocery store with everything you may need and some food trucks. A short drive away is the little surfing town of Halewai with shops and places to eat. Between the studio and Haleiwa is a beach that you may get to see turtles resting on the sand or swimming. Traffic along the highway can get busy depending on the time of day due to the popular locations in between Haleiwa and the studio. We were told by one local that it isn't as busy in the summer months. The studio itself was very clean and well maintained. The size was comparable to a motel room with a double bed, bathroom, small refrigerator, and small kitchenette. Perfect for one or two people. There is no ocean view from the studio, but you can hear the ocean waves. It is just a short walk to the other side of the house to be in the gorgeous backyard. There are beach chairs, snorkeling gear, a cooler, beach towels, etc., all available for guests to use. Kay herself is an amazing and gracious woman! She was always extremely helpful, but gave us our privacy. If we stay in Oahu again, we now will only stay at Kay's slice of paradise! We highly recommend the studio, and even Kay's house for anyone wanting a peaceful, beautiful getaway. Kay, thank you for sharing your home with us!"
