  • Big, beautiful house just steps from the beach

"Just finished a girls week in Hawaii. We loved this house. Plenty of room for all 10 of us. Stocked with snorkel gear, beach towels and mats, and everything we could have needed in the kitchen. We loved that the beach was so close, and just a short walk down it there were really good body boarding waves and a little less coral, plus a small bathtub beach area for the baby. We saw a Hawaiian monk seal sunning himself right out on our beach one afternoon. The outdoor shower with the option for hot water was such a luxury. It gets a bit hot, but there are many fans, which made it more tolerable. Theres a Foodland and coffee shop 2 miles down the road across from sharks cove (a great place to snorkel) and a Thai food truck close by too. Parking was a bit tight for our minivan, but that seemed to be the case most places we tried to park the beast. With the threat of a hurricane and possible flight cancelation, we were offered to extend our stay, which gave us peace of mind. All in all I would totally stay here again."

  • Wonderful property, awesome experience.

"I loved staying here, sitting on the deck while watching/listening to the waves crash on the beach never got old day or night. The sunsets are unreal, the stars are bright, and the sunsets are incredible. Some friends and I needed a place to stay on the North Shore to attend a mutual friend's wedding in late October. Our desires were that the place sleep six adults, has direct access to the beach, is reasonably priced, and is relatively close to all amenities. This place fits all of those criteria and is also a great place. The house is up to date with new appliances including a 32" HDTV. There is wifi and it has reliably good speeds, I found that 10-15M down was typical. The kitchen has the usual appliances as well as a blender and a coffee maker. The place was very clean and there were plenty of beach towels. There's a laundry room in case you need to wash any clothes and said beach towels. There's a grocery store five minutes down the road and a gas station less than a block away. Swimming in the ocean in late October isn't recommended in front of the house, though the surf was good given that there was a competition happening 400 yards down the beach. Waimea is 10 minutes away by car and has great swimming. If there's any flaws, they have to do with cooking. The knives were very dull, I couldn't find one that would cut through the skin of a salmon filet, the grill is charcoal which can be difficult to light during the frequently windy conditions, and there was no food storage containers so stock up on glad wrap at the store. The deck, which I could happily spend the rest of my life on, is super slippery when wet so keep some footwear on the back deck (no footwear in the house). I'm now trying to figure out when I can get back to this gem on the North Shore."

  • Slice of Hawaiian Heaven

"We are currently half way through our two week stay at this property. We found it to be all that was promised. If you are looking for 5 star Hyatt accommodations this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a laid back neighborhood, great beach access to a uncrowded section of sunset beach, quite trade winds cooling you down at night, as well as a place away from all of the high rise complexes, this place is for you. The property has been well kept including new Pella Windows and sliders. The beds are comfortable and the house is well equipped. We appreciated the outdoor shower, beach toys and mats and plenty of beach towels. The grocery store is close and Ted's Bakery was almost across the street, which was actually bad for our waistline. Everyone talks about the pie but the Malisadas in the morning were the thing that my children looked forward to. We needed a few extra bikes and they were delivered to us upon recommendation of the property management company. The walk to the beach was just a few minutes and the access appeared only known to locals. We loved the outdoor shower and it is perfect when trying to clean off from the beach. Sharks cove, Turtle bay, the fruit stands, shrimp trucks are all within minutes by car. The other thing worth noting is that it is listed as 1.5 baths but there is really only one bathroom with a shower and toilet and one outdoor shower. Also, there is not A/C or dishwasher. Not a big deal for us but someone reading this might want that clarified. The property management company was top notch. We had to call when we first arrived for more spoons as there were only four spoons in the kitchen. They were there that day with plastic spoons until they could get us the real spoons purchased and delivered. Also, the bike lock was missing and they delivered us a new one with the spoons. We would definitely rent this house again and found it a perfect quite, clean and well maintained unit. I should also add that the back yard is wonderful and we ate all of our meals on the back patio. True outdoor living! Thanks for sharing your home."

  • Beautiful house on the North Shore

"We loved the Sunset Pad. We particularly like the enclosed lanai when it rained. We could be outside and enjoy the rain! Everyday we moved from the lanai at breakfast to the balcony for happy hour and walked to the beach in between. And we slept so well! It was a wonderful vacation!"
