Great Value for Money
"My husband and I spent a week at this property and it was perfect. Great location with the beach right across the road. The owners had everything there that we needed to make our holiday great. The studio is small but it was great for 2 people. I would definately recommend this property to all my friends."

"This was our first time in Hawaii, but not our first in beach villas, bungalows and cottages. The Sunset Beach House was by far the most impressive, best equipped and comfortable of them all. It seems like Rupert, the Owner, thought of everything: the views, the outdoor shower, the Jacuzzi on the porch, and every amenity and necessity you could ever need or want. (We were amazed that he even had a box of batteries.)
This house affords an expansive panoramic view of a beautiful turquoise beach (Sunset Beach) from within the house and from the large covered porch. The resounding waves immediately lull you into relaxation mode. And the House itself makes you feel right at home as soon as you enter. It was secluded and private, but minutes away from places to eat and to explore. We loved Hawaii and will definitely go back to Oahu and the Sunset Beach House.

"Thank you once again Michel for sharing your gorgeous and personality filled home, we so enjoyed our stay there. It has such a unique and comfortable island style! We thoroughly appreciated all the Hawaian antiques, particularly the musical ones, and the feeling of living in a treehouse (but with all the mod cons), surrounded by nature and serenaded by waves, birds and the odd chicken :) My kids loved jumping in the crazy waves out the front on the beach, my hubby and I took walks along the beach, we loved relaxing on the deck and the jacuzzi, and of course enjoying the incredible views, and we took a surf lesson with Sunset Suzy and just generally enjoyed the beautiful North Shore. The snorkelling in Shark's Cove was easy for all the kids and there were lots of beautiful fish to admire, and we also drove down to Kailua for a kayaking adventure, which was a beautiful and easy drive. All of it was a welcome relief from the buildings and business of Waikiki, where we spent the previous week. And we enjoyed Haleiwa so much, too, so close, and such great food! The Sunset Beach house was our real Hawaian vacation, and thankyou for being a wonderful host. Thanks again Michel."

"My family had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Hale Pono for 16 days! It was glorious! I have rented several homes in the Sunset Beach area and this was superb. Great location, everything in the house is high end, furniture, beds are super comfortable, linens and towels are high end, appliances, dishes and utensils, TV, ceiling fans, Bose surround sound speakers to listen to Hawaiian music, everything that ensures guests have a wonderful and comfortable environment to enjoy their vacation. It was a treat that all bedrooms had their own bathroom! And the master suite -- wow! The entire upstairs is the master bedroom! The views from the master bedroom and lania, and falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean is such a treat. Make sure you plug in the lights in the backyard that hangs on the Kukui nut tree. It makes for a beautiful ambiance when you sit in the lanai in the evening.
The location of the home is also superb. The beach that is directly behind the home is great for swimming. White sand, not rocky, and close to many fine establishments including Teds Bakery (walking distance) and Foodland (short drive). I absolutely love sunset beach and this home is right in the heart of that beach.
Elyse was great to work with and very honest. John, our local contact, was truly wonderful. He was extremely responsive and exuded that "aloha" spirit. If you are looking for a high end beach rental that provides a lot of space and spectacular views, don't hesitate to rent this beautiful home.
PS - One thing that I didn't realize when I rented is that the house does not have air conditioning (central air or window units). It was fine for me, the sliding doors and windows allow you to get the ocean breeze, and ceiling fans ensure air was constantly circulating. However my husband did miss it. So if you have a sensitivity to not having AC you should be prepared that this house does not have it. Also many beach houses do not have AC so this is not at all unusual and it would not personally prevent me from renting this property again in the future."
