  • Slice of Hawaiian Heaven

"We are currently half way through our two week stay at this property. We found it to be all that was promised. If you are looking for 5 star Hyatt accommodations this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a laid back neighborhood, great beach access to a uncrowded section of sunset beach, quite trade winds cooling you down at night, as well as a place away from all of the high rise complexes, this place is for you. The property has been well kept including new Pella Windows and sliders. The beds are comfortable and the house is well equipped. We appreciated the outdoor shower, beach toys and mats and plenty of beach towels. The grocery store is close and Ted's Bakery was almost across the street, which was actually bad for our waistline. Everyone talks about the pie but the Malisadas in the morning were the thing that my children looked forward to. We needed a few extra bikes and they were delivered to us upon recommendation of the property management company. The walk to the beach was just a few minutes and the access appeared only known to locals. We loved the outdoor shower and it is perfect when trying to clean off from the beach. Sharks cove, Turtle bay, the fruit stands, shrimp trucks are all within minutes by car. The other thing worth noting is that it is listed as 1.5 baths but there is really only one bathroom with a shower and toilet and one outdoor shower. Also, there is not A/C or dishwasher. Not a big deal for us but someone reading this might want that clarified. The property management company was top notch. We had to call when we first arrived for more spoons as there were only four spoons in the kitchen. They were there that day with plastic spoons until they could get us the real spoons purchased and delivered. Also, the bike lock was missing and they delivered us a new one with the spoons. We would definitely rent this house again and found it a perfect quite, clean and well maintained unit. I should also add that the back yard is wonderful and we ate all of our meals on the back patio. True outdoor living! Thanks for sharing your home."

  • Great place

"What a great find! Greg was so great to deal with, the location couldn't have been better for us. It was awesome to be so close to Ted's Bakery for my morning cup of coffee before heading down to the beach for a walk while waiting for the sun (and the rest of my group) to rise. We felt the true aloha spirit on our vacation and the property is family friendly. Thank you Greg, we will be coming back!"

  • Little Piece of Heaven

"Our stay at Hawaiian Heaven was truly that, Heavenly. From the moment we walked through the door it did feel like a home away from home. We were a large group of mismatched family members, and we fit quite nicely in this home. The kids decided at one point to kind of "camp out" in the living room next to the extra large screen doors, which was nice on the warmer evenings...and fun for them of course. The kitchen was set up perfectly and stocked with spices and all that we needed, in fact we only ate out one evening. There is hard wood floors through out the house, beautiful I might add, that were spotless. I live in a home without carpet and know how hard it it to maintain a floor that looks and feels dust and debris free. I would recommend this house to any size group, a little family getaway or a few families traveling together..plenty of room and things to do. The kids boogie boarded and skim boarded right outside the house, and there was snorkeling right up the road. All of the kids, and one adult took surf lessons in town from Suzi's surf school, they were great! Everyone in our group did awesome and made it look easy from the shore. Our over 16's and the "big kid" adults went ATV riding over on the east side of the island and had a great time as well. We played games at night, there were plenty to chose from. We did a day of shopping in Waikiki, had some delicious pineapple ice-cream at the pineapple plantation, and spent the rest of out time relaxing in the sun. I have to say that Dan was fabulous. From the day of booking, though talking about hurricane Isele through his eyes vs. the media, the day before we arrived. We are trying to figure out a way to make this an annual trip, and I would've loved to stay longer!! Thank you Dan and Shelly for sharing you little piece of Heaven with the rest of us."

  • Awesome Sunset Beach right outside your back door!!

"We recently had a great vacation staying at this house on Sunset Beach. The best backyard ever........ a perfect sandy beach right outside the back door! The house was large enough for our party of 7. We were a little nervous when we heard that the bottom deck and landscaping had been washed away during a storm (months after we had made our reservations). The bottom floor of the house was very nice, clean and updated. The top floor was more dated and had a few small issues which are common with any house on the ocean. The lack of landscaping in the backyard made for great views from the house. It also made for no privacy on the lower deck or in the back bedrooms. The house worked great for our group..... 3 bedrooms downstairs and the living area and kitchen upstairs plus a huge deck overlooking the ocean! We rented this place for its great location on Sunset Beach. It was perfect to be able to walk right out and take a swim in the calm ocean. The beach never had more than a few people around, even in the middle of summer. The only issue we had was the rental house right next door had a group there that partied late into the night. Luckily this only happened for 2 nights and then they were gone. The master bedroom is very close to the neighbors. They are basically right outside the bedroom window. After the loud 2 nights, the rest of our stay was excellent. I would recommend a better BBQ (gas or propane). The cheap charcoal BBQ is just very had to deal with if you are not used to using that kind of BBQ. If you are looking for a great beach.. this place will be hard to beat!"
