  • Beautiful Get Away with the Best Value for the Money, Location, and Ammenities

"After having a Beautiful Wedding in Waikiki, we wanted to take advantage of having all of our friends in my new wife’s home state since we currently live in Chicago. We had eleven adults (including ourselves) who extended the festivities to spend a week on the North Shore to relax and unwind. First, setting up the rental was an enjoyable experience; we had other property managers feel a little overwhelmed by the multiple questions from 11 adults planning a vacation. Steffany was amazing. She responded to all of our inquiries in a timely and positive manner. Like most people, we had anxiety that when we arrived at the property, that it would not be what we expected. In this case, the property did not exactly match the photos on this site, but "wow" we were pleasantly surprised. The pictures do not do the views or the home justice. Additionally, the bathrooms are newly renovated and beautiful. As for the amenities, both kitchens are fully stocked with the needed materials to cook for eleven people. Additionally, we had two grilling gurus who were overly impressed with the well maintained Weber Genesis grill. We used it every night to cook and the owners provide extra propane in case you run out. The little extra amenities for the beach were a welcome find. They have every type of flotation device for the beach including boogie boards. Additionally, three of our friends spent hours snorkeling in the reef close to shore using the equipment that was easy to find. They even had enough beach chairs and a cooler for those who wanted to just enjoy the beach. The beach is right there so the cooler was only needed to avoid the 100 yard walk to the kitchen – but it is vacation! The location was perfect. You are an enjoyable morning walk from Ted’s bakery where people enjoyed breakfast and lunch many times during our stay! Additionally, through the Living Social website, friends were able to find deals on local adventures including paddle board and surf board lessons. Though my wife and I rarely left the beautiful accommodations since we were recovering from the wedding events the week before, our friends ventured out to explore the excellent local food at towns nearby and Turtle Bay. I highly recommend this beautiful location for a retreat that is not too far away from everything, but feels completely secluded. The amenities, customer service, price and accommodations make it the perfect North Shore get away."

  • Perfect Old Hawaiian Charm!

"We have been looking for the perfect beachfront house in Oahu for several years and are thrilled that we have found it! We come frequently to visit our son and his family and long since fell in love with the North Shore. On this particular trip, my husband and I brought our toddler granddaughter to Lucille's cottage for 5 days. We could not have asked for a more perfect spot! The house has so much family history and the aloha love for this bungalow is evident! We felt so at home immediately -- the decor is old school Hawaiian charm combined with all the modern "necessities" one may need. The kitchen is well equipped (We love to cook and are picky about this), the beds are comfy, beach chairs and towels are provided. Besides the fact that the view and sunsets are spectacular, the family has perfected the art of lounging and comfort with the outdoor and indoor punees, indoor and outdoor dining, and the hammock! But the outdoor shower may take the cake! Why shower inside a shower stall when one can enjoy the privacy and convenience of this shower!? Our granddaughter thought it was great fun and it ended the battle over a bath each day! The surf was especially high as it is winter, and the sea spray was ever-present when the winds picked up. We loved every moment -- walked down to Pipeline to see the surfers -- grabbed lunch at The Daily Grind truck just past there -- and took trips into Haleiwa as well as Thursday night Farmer's Market in Waimea Valley. But the house and the lanai would always call us back and we were quite content to stay there. Thank you for sharing this wonderful ohana, we have great respect for your family's ability to keep the old Hawaiian charm."

  • Perfect Stay

"We had the perfect stay at Hula House. We could not have been happier with the location. So clean and nice perfect upstairs apartment with beautiful breezes throughout. Would highly reccommend this property to friends, family and coworkers. The walking/bike path was so close for our every morning 5 mile walk. So nice to be able to ride bikes to beach. Overall great vacation for my son, husband and myself. Thank you"

  • Excellent vacation over New Years Holiday

"First, I would note that the descriptions on the internet were 100% accurate, we had no surprises. The house was very nicely furnished, though as other reviewers noted, the living room furniture looked nicer than it was to use, and some of the dining room chairs are beginning to sag, but these were minor points. The three bedrooms and the two bathrooms were very comfortable. We never turned on the air conditioners, since the weather was so nice the ceiling fans and windows were all we used. The kitchen had all we needed for cooking a couple of meals, and the grill was nice to have as well. The house had bikes, beach gear and snorkeling gear to borrow which was a very nice addition as well. Other reviewers noted problems with the internet, but we had none. We didn't have any need to contact the office so I can't comment on their support, but the reservation process was very well handled. Finding the turn-off onto Ke-Iki Road was a bit tricky, suggest you try to find it the first time in the daytime. We also enjoyed being walking distance to Foodland and their coffee shop, as well as the Shark's Cover Grill food truck next door to the Foodland was convenient. All in we felt great value for the money, a awesome location you can sit four hours and watch the waves come into the beach and crash into the rocks."
