  • Perfect Old Hawaiian Charm!

"We have been looking for the perfect beachfront house in Oahu for several years and are thrilled that we have found it! We come frequently to visit our son and his family and long since fell in love with the North Shore. On this particular trip, my husband and I brought our toddler granddaughter to Lucille's cottage for 5 days. We could not have asked for a more perfect spot! The house has so much family history and the aloha love for this bungalow is evident! We felt so at home immediately -- the decor is old school Hawaiian charm combined with all the modern "necessities" one may need. The kitchen is well equipped (We love to cook and are picky about this), the beds are comfy, beach chairs and towels are provided. Besides the fact that the view and sunsets are spectacular, the family has perfected the art of lounging and comfort with the outdoor and indoor punees, indoor and outdoor dining, and the hammock! But the outdoor shower may take the cake! Why shower inside a shower stall when one can enjoy the privacy and convenience of this shower!? Our granddaughter thought it was great fun and it ended the battle over a bath each day! The surf was especially high as it is winter, and the sea spray was ever-present when the winds picked up. We loved every moment -- walked down to Pipeline to see the surfers -- grabbed lunch at The Daily Grind truck just past there -- and took trips into Haleiwa as well as Thursday night Farmer's Market in Waimea Valley. But the house and the lanai would always call us back and we were quite content to stay there. Thank you for sharing this wonderful ohana, we have great respect for your family's ability to keep the old Hawaiian charm."

  • Perfect Home away from home!

"It was the perfect size & location for our family of 6. (kids ages 15, 17, 19 & 22) We especially loved walking to Sharks Cove to snorkel. The waves were super high but the cove is almost completely protected- a few waves made it over the rocks. It was a great central location for our variety of activities. We enjoyed making meals in the kitchen- after sunset on the lanai. We loved having lunch from the Seven Brothers food truck on the deck outside- no bugs!! I also appreciated the security provided- a rock fence around the house and a garage/carport to park our rental van. Thanks so much! It was a very memorable vacation and the house was the top of everyone's "do again" list."

  • Peaceful Paradise

"We loved our stay at this house. The sound of the surf and the sunset views from the lanai were the highlights of each day. It is about 11 miles east of Haleiwa and a mile west of the Turtle Bay Resort; so, it is an easy drive to all of the great North Shore beaches. Dealing with Lenea and Lori during the information and booking process was a pleasure and they provided detailed directions and information about the area. The rooms were comfortably furnished and the individual room A/C units were extremely efficient. I would rent the house and again and would recommend it to my friends with one small caveat. The steps in the sea wall to get to the ocean are naturally formed so they are uneven and require good balance. We did not feel comfortable using them. However, you can access a public beach less than a 5-minute walk from the house. I walked back to the house from there and climbed up the steps but I did need to use my hands. If there had been a railing or a rope it would have been fine."

  • This place is a GEM!

"This was the perfect home in the perfect spot! First and foremost, the pictures and descripion on VRBO are true to life. It is as nice as the pics look...maybe even better! We wanted a place where we could walk to the beach, not drive. Our family has very different tolerances for the sun and heat, so this 30 second walk to the beach was perfect. We could come and go as we wanted and there was no need to load up the car and drive and schlep everything with us. We spent most of our time on the front porch. It was big, the wicker chairs and ottomans were cushy and comfortable and we got to see all the surfers and locals coming and going to the beach. They were friendly and fun! We also met some of the neighbors. They were friendly and filled with Aloha spirit. Made us feel more like locals and being at home away from home. The place is immaculate inside and the grounds are equally well-kept. And we loved that there were high-quality linens from the sheets and pillow cases to the beach towels and bath towels. The private outdoor shower was a big plus and our first stop when coming in from the beach. Very practical. We also appreciated that there was a gate to the driveway and tons of room for parking. We had plenty of room for two vehicles and then some. Great place: clean, cozy, updated, bright, perfectly located and a wonderful place for making memories with your family. The owners are the best. Very responsive to our questions and needs. They even left us a big basket of Hawaiian-made goodies for when we arrived."
