  • Eric + Wife + two adult daughters

"We are all originally from Oahu but left 18 years ago. We visit Hawaii each year after xmas for a week and usually stay in Waikiki. We decided to rent this house and was an incredible experience it was. It was so relaxing. The whole family said it was the best time in the past 18 years of coming to Hawaii. The home made the vacation as it was so well thought out, everything you needed was there already."

  • Great house, fabulous time

"We're old hands at renting beach houses in Hawaii, this being our 12th time (on 3 islands). This was absolutely the best of all. Great house, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, plenty of room for all 7 of us. House was spotless, fabulous location. Great deck for evening sunsets and morning coffee (& watching whales), made great use of the spa (both adults and kids). 1700 steps to the nearby Foodland market, on a nice paved walkway. Great beaches all around, especially Waimea Bay. Great food in Haleiwa, especially Jamisons, Haleiwa Joe's, and Opal Thai, as well as great food trucks. House was so great we hung out there all the time, will definitely stay there again when we next come back to Oahu."

  • Slice of paradise!

"My husband and I stayed in Kay's studio for 10 days. The backyard area with views of the ocean turned out to be our favorite location, absolutely beautiful. We watched the sunset on the ocean and whales breach daily from the little deck in the backyard. There is easy access to the beach. It feels fairly secluded with some people enjoying the beach, but it never became crowded while we were there. A short walk away are more popular beaches with people surfing and snorkeling. We stayed in the winter making the waves more intense then they are in the summer months, so it is recommended people swim with caution or have some experience. Also within walking distance using the bike path is a Foodland grocery store with everything you may need and some food trucks. A short drive away is the little surfing town of Halewai with shops and places to eat. Between the studio and Haleiwa is a beach that you may get to see turtles resting on the sand or swimming. Traffic along the highway can get busy depending on the time of day due to the popular locations in between Haleiwa and the studio. We were told by one local that it isn't as busy in the summer months. The studio itself was very clean and well maintained. The size was comparable to a motel room with a double bed, bathroom, small refrigerator, and small kitchenette. Perfect for one or two people. There is no ocean view from the studio, but you can hear the ocean waves. It is just a short walk to the other side of the house to be in the gorgeous backyard. There are beach chairs, snorkeling gear, a cooler, beach towels, etc., all available for guests to use. Kay herself is an amazing and gracious woman! She was always extremely helpful, but gave us our privacy. If we stay in Oahu again, we now will only stay at Kay's slice of paradise! We highly recommend the studio, and even Kay's house for anyone wanting a peaceful, beautiful getaway. Kay, thank you for sharing your home with us!"

  • Beautiful Get Away with the Best Value for the Money, Location, and Ammenities

"After having a Beautiful Wedding in Waikiki, we wanted to take advantage of having all of our friends in my new wife’s home state since we currently live in Chicago. We had eleven adults (including ourselves) who extended the festivities to spend a week on the North Shore to relax and unwind. First, setting up the rental was an enjoyable experience; we had other property managers feel a little overwhelmed by the multiple questions from 11 adults planning a vacation. Steffany was amazing. She responded to all of our inquiries in a timely and positive manner. Like most people, we had anxiety that when we arrived at the property, that it would not be what we expected. In this case, the property did not exactly match the photos on this site, but "wow" we were pleasantly surprised. The pictures do not do the views or the home justice. Additionally, the bathrooms are newly renovated and beautiful. As for the amenities, both kitchens are fully stocked with the needed materials to cook for eleven people. Additionally, we had two grilling gurus who were overly impressed with the well maintained Weber Genesis grill. We used it every night to cook and the owners provide extra propane in case you run out. The little extra amenities for the beach were a welcome find. They have every type of flotation device for the beach including boogie boards. Additionally, three of our friends spent hours snorkeling in the reef close to shore using the equipment that was easy to find. They even had enough beach chairs and a cooler for those who wanted to just enjoy the beach. The beach is right there so the cooler was only needed to avoid the 100 yard walk to the kitchen – but it is vacation! The location was perfect. You are an enjoyable morning walk from Ted’s bakery where people enjoyed breakfast and lunch many times during our stay! Additionally, through the Living Social website, friends were able to find deals on local adventures including paddle board and surf board lessons. Though my wife and I rarely left the beautiful accommodations since we were recovering from the wedding events the week before, our friends ventured out to explore the excellent local food at towns nearby and Turtle Bay. I highly recommend this beautiful location for a retreat that is not too far away from everything, but feels completely secluded. The amenities, customer service, price and accommodations make it the perfect North Shore get away."
