"We rented this place in September of 2015. It was my first time to Oahu, and we wanted a private, secluded retreat on the North Shore. I cannot tell you how happy we were with our stay. There is not a single detail that is missed with this amazing house. It is located just a few miles away from the historic Hale'iwa village, where you can get fresh local food, indulge in the shrimp trucks and hangout with the locals. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring the North Shore; its close to Kaena Point, Sharks Cove, Waimea Valley, etc. (The beach at Waimea Bay is out of this world…be sure to jump off the cliffs :-) )
The house looks directly out on the pristine waters of the North Shore. Every morning, we would wake up, start the coffee, open the sliding doors all the way to the wall, and watch the turtles swim while sipping coffee with the gentle trade winds. Its the perfect way to start the day. Imagine walking along the beach, sipping coffee and watching the sea turtles climb up the sand to take a nap--because that's a reality here! The pool is also fantastic. Its the perfect size for a quick dip on a warm day. Also, you MUST try the outdoor showers. There is nothing more relaxing than showering while listening to the waves crash against the shore.
Some of the amenities that we loved: kayaks, snorkeling gear, grill, pool, lounge chairs, kitchen (recently updated with new appliances).
Some of the things we didn't love: Nothing. As mentioned, there is not a single detail that is missing from this place. :-)
Pat and Jan are great hosts, and truly embody the Hawaiian spirit. They made us feel right at home the moment we pulled into the driveway. I couldn't have asked for a better location, home and hosts for our honeymoon. For the rest of our lives, we will remember the slice of paradise that Pat and Jan so graciously provided. Mahalo Nui Loa. I can't wait to come back..."
