"My daughter and I visited Honolulu for the first time and we were so fortunate to have found Donald and Lisa's VRBO listing. Located in the Ilikai towers, on the end of the Waikiki 'strip', the condo was perfect for the two of us. It has a great view of the marina and the gardens located on the first floor. There is a sliding door that separates the bedroom and living area, but we didn't need it as it was just the two of us. Donald and Lisa have an extremely helpful book of information for guests- about the condo, building, and surrounding areas. It's a great help! There are more than enough clean and good quality towels and they even provide small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. The sheets are clean and good quality. They also have very comfortable pillows. The kitchen is clean and very organized. They even have some plastic wear that comes in handy if you decide to take your meal on the go.
The condo is just next to the Hilton 'complex' which has a lagoon so you have either the condo pool, nearby beach, or lagoon as swimming options. They are all just steps away. If you want to get a bite to eat, you can enjoy a nice walk down the promenade into Waikiki or just take the Waikiki pink line trolley for $2. It stops right at the entrance of the condo. Since the Ilikai is at the start of Waikiki on the pink line of the trolley, there are always seats which is not the case once the trolley starts heading into the Waikiki 'strip.' Cinnamon's, a very popular breakfast spot, is located on the first floor/lobby area, opens at 7a, and is open throughout the day. It is a great place for a bite to eat- it's delicious! There are two ATMs located in the lobby so you don't have to wander too far to get money. There's also a cafe and a convenience store in the lobby area. The convenience store has beach items, magazines, food, and drinks so you can pick up small things there or head to the grocery store about 3 blocks away.
We used the valet parking which is priced for the location (I think it was about $25 or $30/day). The service was good and we got unlimited in and out privileges. Depending on how busy they were, it took 2-10 minutes to get the car. Just a tip, valet parking isn't 24 hours. If you park at noon on Wed, for example, you have until 11pm on Thursday to get the car. Donald and Lisa were so kind to let my daughter and me check out in the afternoon so the extended valet time was a help as well. We loved our stay! It was wonderful!!!"
