"We have just returned from our stay in Makapu'u Hale. The house is exactly as shown in the photos. The views are breathtaking, and you can't get closer to the ocean! We loved sitting on the lanai, watching the surf and the sea turtles. The location is convenient to many of the island's attractions.
The whole house is nicely appointed. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware- there is even a variety of basic spices in the cupboard. The main bath is very large and well stocked with the essentials as well as some extras- like the hairdryer, curling iron, and straightening iron in the drawer. The second bath is a sink and tub/shower combo en-suite. The second toilet is in the laundry room and separated from the bedroom by only a curtain- so it got very little use. The beds were comfortable, though somewhat creaky. The air conditioning units worked great throughout the house. We found the house to be ample space for our family of 4 and we were very comfortable there.
For the price and location, this place is great. It certainly beats staying in a hotel with the oppressive crowds of Waikiki! Waimanalo Beach is a 5 minute drive and we rarely saw more than 30 people on the beach. It was lovely!
The downside of the property is the noise level. You are only feet from the highway and the traffic is constant.
Also, it is important to realize that you are sharing the property with two other rental homes and their tenants. This is great if your co-tenants are good, but not so great if they make a lot of noise or are otherwise difficult.
We wouldn't hesitate to return to this rental on future trips to Oahu and we would certainly recommend it to others!"

"Wow- how lucky did we get! The aloha spirit is alive and well- thanks to the gracious hospitality of the Murray family. What wonderful ambassadors for Oahu, they were so helpful and knowledgeable about the island. Their beautiful guest cottage had everything you could ask for and the view was amazing. Waking up each morning to the sounds of tropical birds and Palm trees swaying made us feel so thankful that we had chosen to stay here.
There are not enough words to express how much we enjoyed our visit ( personal favorite was the outdoor shower- very Gilligan's Island like!). Our time here exceeded every expectation and more. ********** Ten Stars! Thanks again- we will be back!"

"Owner was very easy to communicate with, and the property is easy to get to. It has everything but a stove for complete self-sufficiency, and is very close to Hanauma Bay, lovely hikes, great beaches - not to mention a few moments' walk down a path by the house to a small private beach. Good eating and many shops nearby for anything you might need."
